Regent cruiser here doing my first Crystal cruise to Alaska July 16, 2024 in a solo cabin.  Can't wait!  I;m sure I'll love the Serenity.  Just hope they will have a good beer selection.

Thank you Diesel.  This has been somewhat of a nightmare.  Uncruise did suggest yesterday using vaulthealth.com/covid for testing.  Turnaround of 24-48 hours.  Wonder if anyone has used this.  I've had both vaccines but guess this isn't enough.  Of course next month everything could change again.  I'll just do whatever I have to to get on the boat.

Thanks for the reply.  Guess I'll have to drive down to Phoenix 2-3 days earlier and get tested there.  

I notice on page 2 of this forum that someone reported travel restrictions have been lifted except for Anchorage.  What exactly does that mean?  I'm booked on Uncruise  this mid May and they are telling me I need a PCR base test to get to Juneau.  With the time restriction of 72 hours, that is cutting it too close for me.  A rapid test would work but Uncruise is adamant they require this other test to get into the state.  Alaska Air thought a rapid test would suffice as they only require a negative result with no mention of PCR.  Seems I keep getting different answers.  Anyone?

Since you are not leaving until 2021 and small boats would be a consideration, I would check out Uncruise.  They have different itineraries and go where the big ships cannot.  The best way to see Alaska IMO.  I did Sitka to Juneau and it was the best cruise I have ever done!  If you are into adventure and wildlife, this is the way to go and the food is wonderful. Check out their website and reviews.  It is pricey however but well worth it!

Wow!  I am so happy to see you are continuing on with your review.  It was your first review that got me to thinking about trying Uncruise which I did in May of this year on the Discoverer.  BEST. CRUISE. EVER. and definately plan on returning!!  It's hard to put into words everything we saw and experienced.  I still think about it every day and looking back to my pics and the ones the crew took still brings a tear to my eye - in a very good way.  Looking forward to more commentary and pictures!!

Thank you so very much for your detailed review. I will be doing the Northern Passages and Glacier Bay in May 2019 so this held special interest for me. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Alaska that much but sounds like you had a great time anyway, trying a new destination and such. Having been to Alaska a few times prior, I am getting more and more excited from all the details you shared as I've never done Uncruise before. Am going solo so interesting how they seat the solo diners. And thank you also for sharing pictures. Very much looking forward to seeing more. Really, this has been a true pleasure to read.

Just watched your boat come in on portfever.com Juneau. Hope you have a fantastic cruise and can't wait to read your review. Let me know if they have Alaska Amber on board. It's a pretty good beer. Hope the weather improves for you but hey, just enjoy.

This sounds like something that would be up my alley, as I've been to Alaska on cruises before but don't want to see all the major ports again. The Airboat Adventure in Belize is fantastic!!!!!!

I'm a beer drinker. On my last cruise to Alaska, they did not have Miller Genuine Draft. I was told it was not very popular. It has always been on my other cruises with Regent. I called the Regent number to request if this could be on board for my next cruise (3/18/15). She told me since I had requested it so far in advance, it will definately be on board and couldn't understand why it wasn't last time. We shall see.

I am on the March 18, 2015 cruise out of Miami and after looking up my cruise on the rssc website, I found out the hotel will be the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables. After checking your cruise, it will be the same hotel.

I did this excursion last June also and found it quite strenuous in parts, especially in the beginning as the above poster mentioned. Be aware, there were tons of mosquitoes but our guide had spray fortunately. I thought the float was too short but it was very smooth. I'm glad I did this excursion but probably would not do again.

Sitka is my favorite port also. If you love marine life, especially the sea otters, I highly recommend the Sea Otter and Wildlife Quest. Fabulous!!

We are booked on the 3/18/15 Caribbean cruise on the Navigator and would love feedback as to some of the excursions offered. Currently I am interested in the dolphin or seal encounter in Nassau, horseback riding in San Juan, the semi-submersible in St. Bart's and swimming with the stringrays in Antigua. Still undecided about St. Lucia and St.Maarten we're just going to Maho Beach. Has anyone done any of these excursions and if so, thoughts?

If you are going to Sitka, I highly recommend the Sea Otter and Wildlife Quest. Have done a few times and it is awesome.
