Hi we go tomorrow and have arranged to do this ourselves 

there is loads of information about DIY trips on the facebook page 

we were on this cruise and had a fabulous time yes there where issues with tenders but you have to be organised if you get up early and get the tender tickets we did not have any problems getting off the ship at any time

In Newcastle we organised a private Hunter Valley wine tour via cruise critic roll call Lisa from hunter valley wine tours was amazing friends we met said Newcastle was lovely with very good beaches

Yorkies Knob we went to the lagoon and Cairns on the first day, the second day we had arranged another private tour and did sky rail and Kuranda another fabulous trip

In Airlie Beach we we had pre booked a boat charter and went to the Whitsunday islands

Darwin was very hot we went to Crocodilus park and walked around the town

Komodo Island was lovely again we had booked a tour through the roll call saw the dragons and then had a snorkeling trip to the pink beach yes there were children begging but if you said no they went away

I do agree Samarang was a horrible port dirty and smelly got a taxi for 20 USD return with another couple not much to see

Bali we had been to before so I had pre booked a taxi and a group of us got a taxi to the beach had nusa dua and had a very relaxing day

my advice is to not book ships tours but with a lot of research and organisation do it yourself

we had an inside cabin and I would estimate with everything the trip cost at the most £6,000 for a months all inclusive holiday we thought it was great value

I think I will give them a ring sounds as if it will be expensive to change we will just have to put up with all the children lol

does anyone know the logic behind Thompsons policy in that if you change your cruise date to later you have to cancel the whole thing and loose your deposit, but if the dates are earlier you dont have to cancel

I have just ealised that part of our cruise next year is the half term week:(

we have just recieved today through the post a large packet sent airmail from miami a booklet containing a ' Certificate of Reimagination' for our recent spice route cruise on the Quest

which although very nice will go in a cupboard and never see the light of day again

the funnyist thing about it on the certificate it says to Alan and Weale Weale my name is Anne our surname is Weale

i use the one attached to the express pass and photo copy

I have just rang TA again.The hotel looks nice 5* but is at the airport so a long way from the city. it is our first azamara cruise got a good deal on inside guarantee we liked the idea of a small ship with the all inclusive and we love the Greek Islands

all our flight details are on checkmytrip with Lufthansa says baggage is 23kg flight back out of Athens 2.10pm again via hamburg!

HI we are on the same cruise as you out of istanbul 21/7 staying at the wyndham the day before, our flights leave heathrow at 9.30am we change at hamburg reaching istanbul at 5pm crazy! our flights home from athens are indirect too

I have been on many cruises non of the flights are indirect unless long haul

we have just booked too with Azamara for July just been told that our flights are indirect and will take a total of 8 hours to get from the UK to Istambul! I have contacted out agent to change but no response yet we have been on many cruises and never had flights that are indirect
