Anyone who has been on recently tell us what shows and entertainers have been on board . Hoping to see something new this time

I am getting off today.  Hate to say this, but nothing new except one comedian who wasn’t really all that funny and a Neil  Diamond imitator who was horrible!  (The most entertaining part of the Neil Diamond imitator’s show was watching the steady stream of people get up and walk out during his performance.  Alas, even that lost its entertainment value after awhile, and I joined the people making a hasty exit.   No, the show was not over.)   As a whole, the entertainment on this cruise was subpar compared to my other 4 cruises this year on Celebrity.

Never had a RS without at least rose heads! Also always had the 3 fruit bowl...Please could you speak to your butler and ask why you have neither flowers or fruits...

Chemmo—I checked and was informed that small green plant was meant to replace the cut rose heads and that cut rose heads and fruit tray were now only provided on request!  Really with the price of RS and higher suites you would think they would at least provide fresh cut flowers.  BTW, the Captains Club rose is the most pathetic one I’ve ever seen.

  3. Currently in Royal Suite on Reflection.  Only flower is the single rose from a alts Club!  Cut roses usually in this cat of suite seems to have been replaced by small green plant.  The cut roses were used last April and in June in my RS Suites. Haven’t had fruit bowl/tray in my rooms for a couple of years.

  4.  Ute toy on Reflection.  Diner at Tuscan last night.  Service and food were excellent!  Had lunch at The Porch on boarding day.  Very civilized way to start cruise.  Food was good and away from the maddening crowds.  I would suggest you use your lunch for that day unless it is valid for one of the special sea day lunches in either Tuscan or Murano.  Murano’s dinners and lunches (when offered) have always been exceptional IMHO.

We found it a big step up reaching Elite +

the benefits are fantastic especially when embarking, tendering, and dining for the priorities when they ask for all Elite + to come to the front to be first in line. 🤗

or being at a crowded bar and the BT asks if there are any Elite + so they can be served first.  🙄

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I have been elite+ since level was introduced and have travelled several times in Royal Suite.  I have never had anyone at bar or restaurant ask for elite+ to identify themselves so they can be served first.  Posts like yours which are made in jest result in others who may not be experienced either demanding priority treatment or feeling unappreciated because they are at lower level.

  6. I sailed on Millie’s inaugural cruise in 2000 when Michael’s Club was introduced.  As others have said it was originally a cigar lounge, very men’s clubby!  Service was great if you didn’t mind the smoke.  When Michael’s Club became the suite lounge, it remained rather dark and men’s clubby. Had the pleasure of sailing Millie shortly after it’s Edgification and much preferred the new look of the now named Retreat Lounge.  Could not understand all those who had written negative reviews of new decor.  Room was not only lighter/brighter, but furniture was extremely comfortable and service was great.  But, then Everyone likes something different.  So go yourself and form your own opinions.

If I might suggest a more accurate answer...On many cruises, you can request that luggage tags be sent to you.  They may, or may not, arrive depending on the phase of Mars in the sky, the relative humidity in Miami or some other unknown occurrence.  We usually have to request them two or three times and even then often find the one set sent in our held mail when we return.  Occasionally, someone in Celebrity HQ decides to try eliminating sending luggage tags and you won't have the option shown.  That seems to happen randomly.  If you used ChoiceAir, it seems to delay your documents and ability to order luggage tags by about a week....no one seems to know why.

Fortunately, you don't really need luggage tags at all.....you can just arrive at the port with your untagged bags and the porters will tag them for you.

Enjoy your cruise....and don't fret about the luggage tags.

I agree completely about the randomness of getting luggage tags.  I requested tags for my upcoming cruise from the Captain’s Club at the beginning of May.  Then I took a 2 week trip and found no tags in mail on my return, so I made tag request online.  Despite that being 3 weeks ago, no tags have arrived.  You would think that. Celebrity could get this process right!  I am one of its top cruisers and traveling in one of the top suites, but I was still left to print my tags myself despite 2 requests, both made in a timely fashion.  Similar experience in April of this year and September of 2017.  However, in intervening time frame, while staying in regular balcony cabins, I did receive tags when requested.

  8. I have taken Thanksgiving cruises and they either have a large number of family groups or almost none at all.  The key factor seems to be length of cruise—7 days or fewer, lots of families; over 7 days, very few.  That is probably due to fact that most schools are only off for one week.

When I upgraded my cabin more than a month ago, I also got $50 bonus OBC. I did not know that at that time until I asked around and found they had that bonus offer for new booking on the day I did the upgrade.

I upgraded my SS cabin on Friday to a CS and was surprised to get an extra $200 shipboard credit from Celebrity as well as extra $$$$$ from my travel agent.  Yeah!!!

I am not an every day smoker - but I love my smoke when I have it on cruises, trust me, you will live.  There are only a few places to smoke on board....and yet people STILL complain.  Please.....if that is the worst thing going on in your life, to manage to walk 5 seconds through a smoker's area than I think life is pretty good.  Sorry....tired of hearing it.  Move on.....the emissions coming from any car exhaust is worse than any 'second hand' smoke you are getting on a ship.

That’s what you say but I think most everyone who does not smoke would strongly disagree with you!  Keep your smoke at home!

You are not moaning Mr T, or high maintenance IMO.  I would be sorely disappointed as well if a tour I did not sign up for was substituted for the tour I really did want.  As you noted, at least some communication ahead of time should have occurred so that you could make an informed decision if you wanted to proceed or not.  At the very least, since the tour you booked was actually cancelled through no fault of your own, one of the options offered to you should have been a full refund.

Suggestion.....make note of this situation in your on-line survey after you return.  Celebrity may offer you at least a partial refund/bit of credit for your next cruise for the inconvenience.

Enjoying your review and hope the rest of the cruise goes well  🙂

MrT didn’t book his sloth tour through Celebrity, so why would you expect that this tour should be mentioned on his on-line survey, or for  Celebrity to provide him with a partial refund?  And unless he was expecting to see sloths in a zo/refuge like setting, of course they would be seen from a distance and hard to spot.

    First Chic Night Tonight -

We decided we’d try the main dining room tonight as it’s chic night and thought there would be a better menu, however looks like I may end up eating off the everyday menu as personally the main menu isn’t very exciting!

I don’t know.  That menu is one of my favorites.  I always have a hard time choosing!  April 1, I am again boarding Reflection.  Last on for Christmas sailing.

i believe I chose 2 apps and the Steak Diane at Christmas.  This time around, I am in a suite, so will be facing different menu choices.  But, would be more than content with the above choices,

  13. Won’t comment on any part of this thread except the OP’s complaint about Martini bar service (pre-dinner) and Anytime dining wait times.  He had a very large group most evenings—-of course they would have to wait for table space—-just like at any land based restaraunt that don’t accept reservations!  Or, if they do take reservations, would have limited dining times available when booked mere days beforehand!

As for a place to meet for drinks before dinner, a group should seriously consider the underutilized CellarMasters.  On a packed Reflection Christmas week cruise, my daughter and I found it a delightful place for predinner drinks and with charming service provided.

  14. The Alaskan cruise the OP is taking is only 7 days long.  How anyone can not find enough options on Luminae dinner menus for that number of days is something I don’t understand. But, to each their own.

That said, however, I agree that Tuscan Grill is a great venue.  Since my next cruise is in Royal Suite on Reflection which has the most specialty restaurants, I will probably only dine in Luminae once or twice.  But, absent the “free” specialty restaurant meals that come with the Royal Suite, I would be very happy to dine every one of my 11 nights in Luminae.

Has anyone else tried this?  I tried this today and Celebrity wanted to charge me the full price to go from Go Better to Go Best.  The huge price drop on my existing cabin had absolutely no impact.  Am I missing something, or have I approached this the wrong way with Celebrity?

I really don’t know.  But we had booked through a travel agent and when she contacted Celebrity on our behalf, it was permitted.

  16. OP is talking about St. John’s Antigua. The Reflection doesn’t Dock in St. John’s USVI. Beach day I recommend is St. Maarten. Just take the water taxi to beach you can see from the pier. Easy, low cost, and great beach! As for what to do in St. John’s Antiqua, take the ship’s catamaran (double check that it uses a sailing catamaran) excursion that includes snorkel and lobster lunch. (I have already booked this for Christmas Day). Great fun. I would have previously recommended the catamaran tour that circled the island with stop for snorkeling, but no lunch. However, despite changing not a word of the excursion write-up, that tour now uses a large, non-sailing, ferry boat type of catamaran!

  17. Prices will likely go up with more price bundling of promos that punish Elites.

I have no idea how you got from the original post regarding “The Celebrity Revolution’” to this rant on promos/price bundling that “punishes” Elites. I am an Elite Plus and I do not see the problem with Celebrity’s bundling. If you don’t want it, wait to book your cruise when nonbundled rates (ie, resident, senior, whatever) are offered. Celebrity is not forcing you to book a cruise on them. Or, book an inside cabin which I believe never comes bundled! I for one am looking forward to sailing on Millie shortly after it is “Revolutionized.” I was on its Inaugural cruise in 2000 and have spent over 90 days cruising on it since that time. If you are not happy with Celebrity try a different line!

  18. Fishlover - Not at all suggesting I would let my kid run around all day on her own. I'm certainly not like some parents on cruises..... But I also am not going to throw her into babysitting all day and not see her. So my question still stands..... for those people who have kids who say they love Celebrity, what do they love? What are they doing all day that they enjoy (I guess to clarify.... with their parents....)

Well our daughter (now in her 30’s—-gasp) did then what she still does today—watched the sea, read her books, and enjoyed eating “fancy” meals in a “fancy” restaurant, going to the Broadway type shows, and getting served breakfast in bed. Of course, on port days, swimming and beach! She was never a joiner of kid clubs and still managed to enjoy herself on all of our cruises when she was young! Know your child and if she keeps herself entertained easily at home, she will do fine at sea.
