looking forward to this post as well. we will be sailing on April 13th!
-
we were originally booked for 7003 on a post-dry dock cruise in April on the summit. Unfortunately, since we were a party of 3, they had to move us to another room, since it became a double occupancy room only.
-
we were supposed to be in 7003 also for our cruise. they were very accomodating and since there were no more OV rooms, we got upgraded to a balcony on deck 6

update: i just spoke to the X rep. they said they are in the process of updating the website (so the summit plans are still old) and they were sending emails this week to the people who had conflicting rooms. spent a good 20minutes on the phone, but they found a new room to accomodate us.
-
thanks jelayne for the advice. i went to the X website, clicked on the summit deck plans which said it's valid until april 20, 2019? so that one says it's still a 3 person room. hope that part of website is accurate.

danalea1980, i used the chat feature on the website, and according to the rep, since i booked it at a 3 person, it will still have a sofa bed. she couldn't explain why the website said otherwise. i asked her if it's going to end up being a rollaway bed or air mattress to accomodate the 3rd person, but she said it was
anyways, i had found the millenium deck plans, but now i can't find the link.
i didn't have time yesterday to call during normal business hours, i will try after work tomorrow maybe

I just happened to log onto our account today to review our reservations & excursions for our April 13 2019 cruise aboard the summit, and now under the description of our room went from 3 person cabin, to a 2 person cabin. Problem is, we are a PARTY of 3! Celebrity hasn't even notified us of this change.
I tried calling the hotline this evening, but they're only open until 8pm EST 😥
I'm hoping it's a computer glitch, but I saw on cruise critic the new Millenium post-dry dock deck plans and the same room on that ship is now a 2 person occupancy cabin as well
Will try to call the cruise line again tomorrow

Hi trvl_fanatic, my kids grew up cruising on Celebrity (both now teenagers, with my daughter becoming instant Elite when she turned 18) and loved the kids programs. Most of our cruises were in the summer, and there were many other children on board, especially the US based Alaska/Caribbean (vs Europe based cruises, which still had kids but less), so likely your spring break Caribbean will be similar. Some had so many other kids that my son decided to hang out with us because he thought it was too crowded! (Social butterfly daughter was fine.) Good news for your daughter: Celebrity seems to be offering more educational options for kids now than when my kids were younger. The camp counselors are enthusiastic, and we always had so much fun at the family events, like Family Bingo (not as stressful as real adult Bingo!) and Family Scavenger Hunts. I'm sure your 9 year old will have a blast making new friends!!
great, thnx maggipie!!

We will be sailing to the Caribbean during spring break 2019, so we would imagine there would be a decent amount of children? How are their kids’ clubs? Our daughter will be 9yo

Has anyone booked their flights through the cruise line? Did you feel they offered a full compliment of times and airline choices?

Are the very aft cabins a good choice when on a Alaska Cruise, we always get aft cabins in the Caribbean but not sure if it would be a good choice on an Alaska cruise.
We booked an true aft cabin too for our Alaska cruise. We love afts. Though I wonder if if would have been better to get one of the corner wrap around afts, so you can see both the side and aft, esp when viewing the glaciers. We had one of those for Hawaii and the views can’t be beat.

Was on it earlier this month - we love it. Never a boring night and didn't feel crowded

Can you upload photos to Facebook/Instagram if you have the social plan?
I was able to post (slowly) during the week onto Facebook. Instagram was a lot slower so I didn't bother posting or surfing there.
-
Per the carnival app, when you log on to the social plan, it says that only the FB messenger will work and not iMessaging.
That being said, I was still able to get iMessages from home and vice versa. Also, since my husband had the social plan too, we were able to iMessage each other on the ship when we needed to find each other.

staying at the hampton inn convention center - does anyone know if there's a straight-ish path to get to the port without walking back towards the julia street station?
-
leaving on the 1st on the Dream. What are the differences between the new & old menu?

Thanks! How was the view of the lava flow after Hilo on from the aft?
We have the family suite on the port aft corner. I understand the lava view is on the starboard but I'm wondering if you can see it from the aft too.
we were in 9698 this past august. it's an aft portside family suite. we were able to see the lava flow once the ship passed it and it was perfect for the napali coast (coming, alongside, then going away)

We were on the same cruise as you too. We loved it!
But agree, the flight from the East Coast is just too long

great review. we were on the same cruise as well

looking forward to the rest of your review & reminiscing about it as we were on the same cruise too. Thomas was nice, but we probably interacted with him scarcely/briefly during breakfast for an obligatory 'good morning' greeting, but otherwise didn't use his services.

thank you everyone! spoke to NCL and they had their IT dept "release" the docs so I can print them
-
did you make any changes to your reservations like add dinning, booked a shore excursions?. sometimes the edoc can be taken offline while they get updated for these changes then they should be back online once everything is updated
thanks SHOF515, I added pre-paid gratuities today, thinking it'll save me from doing it onboard, but instead, I nearly got a heart attack wondering what happened to my EDocs less than 2wks prior to our cruise!
-
Leaving on POA on 8/26 ~ Edocs were available long awhile back, and today, when I was about to print them out, now it says "not ready to be retrieved"
?!?!
Has this happened to anyone before? Hopefully it's just a computer glitch and will be settled when office opens in AM.

we are on the same cruise as you! welcome! we are looking forward to it & can't believe it's a little more than 2 weeks away
from what I saw in my searches, I think the free water/soda is only for the owner's suites or penthouse ones. maybe someone else can clarify.
we are in one of the aft SI family suites, water/soda isn't included, we ordered a case to be delivered, as i'm the only soda drinker in the group.

I posted about this yesterday, but it was deleted?
I used to always find cruise critic helpful & have been a member for years ~ but found it disheartening that my post was taken out. I didn't post anything offensive or mention any of the taboo topics/sites.
All I wanted to know was what people liked about the Infinity vs constellation, and what were the 'not to miss' sites/excursions to go to on the two voyages that we were considering, as both my husband & I have been to italy before, but this will be the first with our 10yo.
I guess, thanks but no thanks to cruise critic.
