  1. I could never tell the difference between Top Tier Party and Welcome Back Party. So this news does not effect me. I never really went to either. It always felt like a infomerical with booze.

The Top Tier Parties we've attended have introduced the newest members of each tier, presented them w/ their pins, blocks... had some sort of off handed entertainment by a talented crew member (liquor bottle juggling, celebrity impersonations...).

Just off the Adventure, the Top Tier was a BORE! Not even up to Welcome back Standard.

  2. Darrin,

Is it still possible to walk to the cruise pier from Rainbow Beach?

Recent satellite pics look as if much of the beach is gone.:(

    Thanks,

  3. I was doing some research ahead of our cruise to New Zealand in January 2017. When I looked at some of the top rated tour companies, according to TripAdvisor, for some of the ports that we are visiting, they were unavailable to do tours for us without going through Holland America.

It is common practice for the cruise lines to have exclusive contracts with certain tour operators. In ports w/ few options, many times all the available tour operators could very well be held to those agreements.

We're sailing the South Pacific from Sydney Jan. 5 2017. W/O any ports in New Zealand. W/ the timing of New Years our plans are to fly to Auckland 4-5 days early, do a land tour, then meet our ship in Sydney on the 5th.

  4. Anyone have 1st hand knowledge of the luggage capacity in a current year Mustang Convertible? We're flying in to FL then driving down to KW a few days before our cruise from Port Everglades. Wanting to work on our much needed tans on the way. We will have 1 Large, 1 Medium and 1 carry on.

    Regards,

  5. Is it just Come Fly with Me??

Or can I expect other changes to come?

Just checked my cruise planner and all are still in place.

Seams to be a pattern, the 9:00 shows have all been moved to 7:30.

    My email stated:

"We have processed a change to your reservation made using our Cruise Planner based on one of the following scenarios:

    • A change in departure time for your Shore & Land Excursion was made by the tour operator;

    • A change has been made to your cruise itinerary or one of the ports visited that required for your reservation to be changed;

    • A change has been made to your of arrival and/or departure time for a specific port that required for your reservation to be changed."

Except the fact that I booked the show on a sea day!

  6. We are doing the premium drink package any idea of the price of Patron Margaritas/Shots? We have heard mixed reviews of Patron included in the drink package.

Will be sailing Oasis April 25 as well, Spending a few days in Key West before we meet the ship.

Had Premium package on Explorer in December, Patron was not a problem. Chat up your favorite bar staff and they will take care of you.

  7. Do a dummy booking at the RC site and you will probably see that the fare will be higher then they can do the 50% off and give you some OBC. I did this with my sailing and it came out the same. So no savings for me.

Agree, I was watching some future bookings, when the BOGOHO sale hit last May. The promo dept. launched the promo before the booking guys where ready. I booked the first day of the sale, a Wed. Grabbed a D1 on Liberty for under 700pp and a GS on Adventure for 1200pp. That Sat. All pricing was adjusted and those deals were gone. That was TRUELY a WOW sale.

  8. Was there 4/16/14. Had a great time.

They don't let you jump from the middle of the big fall that the guides are doing. You can jump from the side which has two choices, around ten feet and further down by the rope swing is a twenty foot as already stated, but looks much higher when you are the one standing there....

  9. You are my hero! I love hearing that you maintained for several years. They're is hope :)

    chellebells,

Hang in there, I lost 80 lbs, b/t 03-05', and 5-6 more since. Now that I have followed a low carb lifestyle for so long, Many people ask how I've kept it off.

#1: It's not a "diet", It's the way I eat. To me, a diet suggests that when you meet your goal you will be going back to your old ways. You must change the way you eat for good.

#2: After all the work I put into changing my ways, I will not be going back.

#3: Eating is no longer an event, just a thing we have to do, like showering and brushing our teeth.

#4: It may not work for everyone. I AM a meat and vegetable eater, I'm perfectly happy w/ the options I have.

#5: I've been at it so long, I no longer have those cravings.

  10. The gift from the Loyalty Ambassador IS gifted through the Gift & Gear selection, where else would they be obtaining it?

Simply saying the rules online regarding corkage fees do not address gifts received from the Ambassador. Seemingly why the OP was asking. Not flaming anyone as you have choose to do...

I was gifted a bottle from the sommelier, He opened the cabinet and handed it to me. (although I'm sure he did some sort of accounting for it later)

  11. Labadee, Cozumel and Falmouth

Some of our best days in port were spent freelancing around w/ a private taxi for the day. Was a bit nervous the first few times.

    Labadee:

Beach Day, Especially if your decide to purchase a Booze package.

    Coz:

Beaches: (Mr Sanchos, Paradise, Chankannab Park)

Tour: Cozumel Bar Hop, 5hrs, $65.00pp (see the other side of the island, beach hop from tiki bar to tiki bar w/ 1st shot @ ea. included, have lunch @ Coconuts) google it! lots of fun. In VERY good hands w/ Tom and Greg.

  12. I am really so sorry that RCCL has seen fit to cut corners in Chops. Hope the test of new menu fails big time. Instead of cutting corners, they will lose money, period.

IF they continue maybe they will change the name to something more fitting...

If their cutting corners, they could call it "Chumps" since they have most of the letters.:D

  13. We were a little worried when the second bag hadn't arrived by 8:00 PM on embarkation day and we had a message on our cabin TV to proceed to what some call the "Naughty Room" because something in our checked luggage didn't comply with safety regulations.

Funny, sailing from San Juan, It was time for our late dining, none of our bags had arrived, got the voice mail to report to the Naughty Room, We decided since we had already left the pier our bags weren't going anywhere. We went along to dinner, come back to the cabin to retrieve the luggage keys, The bag w/ our contraband had been delivered. Now the message said report to guest services. Guest services had the bag in a small room, my wife had thrown my multi-tool, laying flat down in the bottom, I Always pack it vertical on the side.

The officer admitted he himself has the same one, but for chance I might attempt to dismantle the ship, I was not allowed to keep it.

  14. People have suggested it depends on the port you sail from. Any chance it was Fort Lauderdale?

It was New Orleans, New Years Eve sailing, I know the Big Easy is VERY laid back.

Will be sailing from Galveston this trip.

Sailing Oasis from Fort Lauderdale next year, are they more/less strict?

  15. W/O the books, it is harder to keep track of what you have/have not used.

We both get the coupons, OK, Which card did we use???

At Lattitudes, I had to pay first, then found out which card still had the perk...

Maybe it's just my affliction w/ CRS kicking in???

And 100% it helps the environment, no printing/paper.

But it seems that there are far fewer offers on the sheet vs the old books?

  16. Many Thanks for the heads up... I could eat steak every night, and my DW loves her baked potatoes. Will not be booking a table @ Chops.

Since the new Chops menu, has the price for a Chops filet in the MD increased?

If you want a better cut, w/o the extra cover just to walk in, maybe that would be a better option? Also, MD waiters are very accommodating when it comes to "Special" requests such as baked potatoes.

Besides the lack of a filet / lamb choice in GT (booked), are there any other changes I should be aware of?
