While sitting at the Toronto airport last night bemoaning Our delayed flight we happened to receive a call from Carnival.

Best phone call ever - for 300 total we upgraded from a 1a on deck 2 of the Victory (4 night cruise) to an Ocean suite on the 7th deck!! Whirlpool tub, walk in closet and balcony here we come!! Headed go port shortly :)

You will just LOVE the serenity area. It really was my favorite spot on the ship & that's saying something on a ship this beautiful, well-maintained, with lots of nooks & crannies like the enchanted forest!!

 

Unfortunately no the serenity bar isn't open past 7 or so. Neither is towel service. That part of the ship pretty much shuts down past 7 but the pool & hot tubs are still open til midnight!! you just have to get a drink from an indoor bar & take it up there with you. Or a pitcher from the sport bar if you're a beer drinker because that's a really good deal! Pretty much all of the outdoor lido bars close before dark except for the deck party/mexican buffet night! Hope this helps, have so much fun on your cruise....you're gonna love the Legend!

Boo! Oh well, maybe that was just our favourite spot on that cruise I'm sure we'll find a new favourite spot this time! Excited about the pitchers of beer too.. I don't remember ever having pitchers on a cruise before!! I'm assuming that means you can take them out of the sports bar?

I'm pretty excited about the Serenity area - I was on the ship back in...06 maybe before the change happened and the aft deck was our favourite spot, now that there will be no kids its even better.

Question though, is the aft deck bar, which is now the Serenity bar, still open really late?

I just got some great rates through Avis using AWD C013529 (thats a zero not an o). I've read on some boards that this code doesn't work anymore but it worked fine for me - I will find out for sure though on Feb. 13 and 20 when I pick up my rentals. I'll let you know how it goes!

Has anyone used the Avis Promo Code AWD C031529 recently? Its on a thread linked from this thread about Car Rental discounts. I was able to get some amazing rates from it, I'm just concerned that I will be asked for a coupon or something when I go to pick up my car - the thread where i found the code is from 2007!!

Any experience using this would be appreciated!

Two words... "Hickey Fight". Now I can't say I was a passer-by during this incident, I was definitely involved :D . But i have to say, 20 or so people on the aft deck of the Legend in May 06 going to any lengths to cover eachother in hickeys.. was pretty much the wildest thing I've ever seen :)
