I just returned from my first cruise on MSC Meraviglia (fantastica balcony) earlier this week. It made me miss Celebrity. The ship was beautiful, but too big for me. The food was disappointing, and only a few house wines were available on the easy beverage package. I also missed sitting in Cafe al Bacio with a delicious coffee drink and pastries. I'll stick with Celebrity in the future!

I was on the Oct. 18th cruise with a group of six people. The Yacht Club menus look better than the main restaurant menus. We were disappointed in the food in the main restaurant. The appetizers and the desserts were good, but the entrees were disappointing.

I received my status match about 2 1/2 weeks after applying.

When this happened to us last year, we kept our same cabin, but changed our perk package to Go Best for only a couple of $$ extra per person. Celebrity allowed this upgrade based on current cabin price with Go Best package.
Good to know!

I've never done a B2B, but these comments are making me want to do one!

You can also get frozen coffee slushies with chocolate or vanilla flavoring. Yummy!!!

Thanks for all of your comments. I like Celebrity, but I think the Anthem would be a better fit for this trip with my grandchildren.

Thank you for your comments.

Does Royal Caribbean have a beverage package perk similar to Celebrity's classic beverage package that can be chosen when booking a cruise? Also, if I am select level in Celebrity's Captains Club, what is the equivalent on Royal Caribbean?

Thank you for your thoughts.

My daughter and family with three children (14, 11, 4) would like to cruise with us from Cape Liberty to Bermuda. My husband and I went on Celebrity Summit two years ago to Bermuda and enjoyed it. I'm considering Anthem of the Seas because it has lots of activities for the children who are active. I'm concerned that they might get bored on the Summit. The only cruise that they have been on is the Disney Dream a few years ago, and they loved it. Any thoughts, pro and con, about the Summit vs. Anthem would be appreciated.

Fabulous review, gorgeous pictures! My husband and I were on the cruise after yours. We are booked on this itinerary next March 22, so your review showed me what we have to look forward to next year.

I'm enjoying your posts about your trip. My husband & I will be on the same itinerary on the Reflection beginning April 2nd. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I will be interested to hear about what you do in each port.

Is Celebrity offering any special deals for tax day?

Thank you for posting this. :)

Thank you for a fabulous review! I enjoyed reading about your adventures and seeing the wonderful pictures. I will be on the Reflection in April, 2018, and I'm sure I'll be rereading this thread again when my cruise gets closer.

We were on the Summit for the repo cruise in October 2015 in stateroom 7160. We noticed sewer gas odors one day. Two crew members did some maintenance work in the hallway, and the odor was gone later that day.

Nice review!

On our Aug 28 cruise on the Summit, the pool and pool deck were always overcrowded on sea days, and each hot tub was occupied by about ten children. After the first sea day, we spent our time on our balcony or outside on deck 4 where there were several pairs of lounge chairs to sit on and enjoy the peace and quiet while we read.

I had the same Top Chef menu (post #21) last week on the Summit, and I did not like the Roast Chicken. It was bland and had rubbery skin.

Just thought I would post here for you all as to what is going on.
Hope your trip back wasn't too rough, but according to the map you went through the roughest part of the storm.
We are scheduled to depart for the Canada trip tomorrow and just received word that we will be required to board 3 hours earlier at 9:30. The ship is scheduled to depart at 2PM.
Official notice:
Dear Valued Guest,
This is Celebrity Cruises. We would like to provide you with important information regarding your Sunday, September 3, sailing onboard Celebrity Summit. Due to Tropical Storm Hermine, there has been a change in the departure time for your cruise. The ship will now depart Cape Liberty, New Jersey , at 2:00 p.m. Boarding for your cruise will start at 9:30 a.m. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and we look forward to welcoming you onboard.
Sincerely,
Celebrity Cruises
I see Summit is just south of Rockaway Park so I was wondering if the ship will be disembarking earlier than normal to accommodate the arrivals.
The airport in Newark is open and operating normally and there is no expected change tomorrow as the storm will remain well south of us. The rain line looks to be south of Seaside, NJ. and mostly to the east.
Welcome back and sorry you all missed your second day in Bermuda.
The trip back was not bad at all, actually quite comfortable. Ship traveled an alternate route. We had two full days in Bermuda. Disembarkation is at normal time from 7:30 to 9:30.

Disembarkation is scheduled for tomorrow morning at normal time. We are staying in Port tonight. Ship activities will go on.

I was on the Oct 18 cruise, and I ordered cappuccino a few times from the table attendants in the buffet at breakfast using my easy beverage package.
