  1. The only problem is the majority of the cabins are for 2 people. Very few for 3 (my PCC sent me a list). Even though the 3rd person is ok with a sofa bed I was just trying to make a point. The main reason a handicapped cabin is needed is for a walk in shower. We are in a mini suite because it has a walk in.  I was just very surprised they built a ship this size with so few cabins either handicapped or with walk in showers.

  2. As I was looking for a handicapped cabin on the Encore I noticed they are forward and aft, some being all the way aft. It makes no sense to build a ship of this size with handicapped cabins not even by an elevator. They also don’t have many at all that will hold 3 passengers. I don’t think I am the only one that thinks this is crazy!

The shower/tub combination was standard for mini suites on the Jewel class ships. On the Breakaway plus  class ships the shower/tub combination is available in family mini-suites. The other mini suites have the walk-in showers.

Another option to consider is booking a mini suite that accommodates four passengers. This gives you the option of using the pullman berth for the third passenger. Doing this leaves the sofa available for use at all times. If the third passenger were amenable this will make the space much more functional.

Thanks, definitely something to look into.

Stayed in a midship mini-suite on the Escape (2018) & midship Balcony on the Breakaway (2016).  The only difference was the nice size shower in the bathroom of the min-suite...very minimal cabin/balcony size differences.

Stayed in a midship mini-suite on the Gem (2017) & the bathroom had a combo shower/tub...was not impressed with the mini-suite especially the very small 22” TV!!!

Planning a cruise on the Bliss in a Haven Forward Facing Suite (4/2020) to experience a separate bedroom/livingroom cabin.  Won a bid upgrade for a H5 Haven Courtyard Penthouse on the Escape (2019) & once you go Haven it becomes hard to go back to non-Haven cabin.  Good thing I cruise once a year because Haven prices are getting ridiculous!!!

We have always stayed in the Haven. This is going to be a girls cruise and my one friends needs a walk-in shower not tub shower combo. The Encore Haven is very high priced and since it the girls and no hubbys we were trying to make it more cost effective. Thanks and enjoy the Haven.

  5. My son proposed to his now wife no the Breakaway in June of 2012. With the help of Julie, the cruise director. It was done in LeBistro. The table was set up where my daughter-in -law could not see anything coming from the kitchen. When they brought dessert they put hers down last. What they did was on a large white square plate in chocolate they wrote "will you marry me"!!!! It was AWESOME. Then she told them that she was taking the plate home LOL!!

  6. We also just returned from the Breakaway yesterday. We had perfect weather, sail away was some rain but seemed to stop as we passed The Statue of Libery and the Verazano Bridge. Had a few storms Saturday but no big deal. Horseshoe Bay is beautiful, but Jelly Fish were bad. A girl got stung and they took her for medical attention. I heard they were poisonous. We were booked in a suite and we have been before, (we were upgraded once & seems we can't go back LOL). We have had a few different Concierges, they have all been good but Anoop has to be one of the best. He was really awesome!! Can't wait to go back, we have this same cruise booked for next year with friends.

  7. Any pictures of this suite would be appreciated. We have it booked for next June. This will be our 3rd time on the Breakaway but the other 2 were both in Spa Suites, after reading up on that suite I was a little disappointed to see the balcony so small compared to some of the other ships??? Thanks in advance for any info...

  8. Thanks to everyone for responding:

McCutie, I am very happy that Adrian was there for you and hope everything worked out with your medical emergency!!

EileenN, With everything I have been hearing I will be disappointed if Adrian is not on the Breakaway for the June 8 sailing......

  9. Last year we were escorted to the Cirque show early but no ohter shows. There is a seperate area in the theater for suite guests to sit. We wre in a Spa Suite last year and the same this year, I am not sure about the higher suites.

  10. We will be on the Breakaway in June and was wondering if anyone can tell me if the Concierge is Adrian Bica/Assistant Concierge: Elvina (tis is what I found searching the boards). If so how are they. We have never had either one of them, but he ones we did have were very good!! Thanks in advance for your help!

  11. GeriC you said you were in a balcony mini suite in cabin 14742 isn't that a suite??? That is the cabin we are booked in & it states it is a spa suite??? Just curious, if that is the cabin was there a couch or a small table and chairs??
