We were on the same cruise as you. for your information, some snowbirds use
Princess as a way to get to there winter residences. They can move more items down and get special permission to leave the ship early. They will rejoin a ship later in the season, going north. It takes permission from the cruise line, the agents at the port to do this. No, one was lost on this cruise. As for the couple that was late in Cobo, they were found in a waterfront bar, by the local agent. They got a local tender to rush them back to the ship as they the agents did not want to have to help them get back to the States. We did not feel that ship rock and rolled, but will agree that some motion was felt the last night, though they didn't drain the pool, which they do when motion is really bad.
Glad you had a good time.
Not to hijack the thread but tell me more about how snowboards do this. Do some really leave the cruise early and at a later date join another cruise going back? Do they pay for two cruises then and just do a portion of each? That seems an expensive way to get items moved.

Where did you read this? If I read your post correctly, it sounds as if you want to do half your cruise now and half of it later. Not likely to happen.
DON
Read it here on the forums. Someone said people do this in Mexico for example. That poster said they leave early through special arrangement and return later northbound. I'll look for that original posting and ask them.

A person wanting to do this would have to choose cruises that went to a foreign port. Under the Jones Act (PVSA (?) Act) passengers cannot board in one domestic port of USA and disembark in another unless they go to a foreign port on the way. :)
Thanks. Am aware of the Jones Act.

I just read that you can make arrangements to leave a cruise early and then later in the season arrange to come back north? Apparently some snowbirds get off the ship near their winter residence. This way they can take lots of luggage. Has anyone done this and how do you make the arrangements? Can you really join another ship coming back at a later time?

Which excursion in Puerto Vallarta? City Highlights or Countryside & Tequila Hacienda? Will have my 90 year old father-in-law with so need something easy.

I love this! I was on both Crown & Ruby and loved saying it with the automated voice [emoji23]
That will definitely be us! Or something like AloooooooooooHa!

Yup! I'd take Aloha. Closer to buffet and adult pool:D
Yep, I like the idea of being closer to the buffet and pool :) Thanks everyone.

Choice between Baja or Aloha balcony on Crown Princess - which one would you choose and why?

I'm always surprised at the responses when this thread repeats and repeats. Filling out the form with name, cabin, etc doesn't defeat anything. Checking the boxes in advance is what defeats the purpose.
I don't think anyone said they fill it out a week ahead and actually answer the questions. As I mentioned earlier we fill out the form in advance but wait to check the boxes the morning of the cruise. That's efficient and makes things that much easier when you have bags to carry and elderly parents to assist.
