I miss the printed Fun Times and long for the days when our phones went into the safe and we were able to take a break from technology. Seemed that the Trivia cheating wasn't as rampant back then either.

This may be evident but im a pretty big Parrothead. Probably world class. Not bragging just is what it proverbially is.
Big thumbs up to CCL for including some Jimmy Buffett songs on the buffet background music.
Anyone have a teeny tiny thing that is big to you?
On recent long cruise i heard his songs most every day. Some were pretty deep album cuts, not hit songs. Brought a smile to my face every time.
For years i failed to hear a single recorded or live Jimmy song. No biggie...like i said this is a very small thing in the big picture.
But i am thankful. Fins up!
Spent a few days in Charleston prior to our cruise this past August. While there, i stopped at t local record shop downtown. I collect Jimmy Buffett vinyl records. Picked a copy of Songs you don't know by Heart and talked a bit with the owner about Jimmy and my lifelong fandom. We boarded the ship the next day and spent our port day in Nassau at the Margaritaville resort. Upon arriving back into port at the end of the cruise, the first thing I saw on my phone when we had service was that Jimmy Buffett had passed. the wife and I were heartbroken and spent the drive back to Atlanta listening to Buffett. Fins Up!

Was wondering did you book through NCL or private? What is your sail date if you don't mind me asking. We are booked on Whale Watching out of Ma'alaea. Our sail date is 12/03/22
Were sailing Carnival Miracle January 8th. We booked direct through Pac-Whale Eco Adventure.

Thanks for the info. After a little more digging, we booked the luau at the Disney resort instead. Much closer and less stress on getting back on time!

I posted this originally and after seeing the comments and doing little more research, we ended up booking a tour out of Ma’alaea as many suggested.

Hello friends. We are looking to book the Toa Luau at Waimea Valley. The luau ends at 8:00PM. Ship leaves at 11:00 and we have to drop the rental at the airport Avis before heading back to the ship. Is three hours plenty of time to get back to the airport, drop the rental and taxi back to the port? Seems so to me, but wanted to ask those who have been there before.
Thanks

We have cars rented in both Maui and Honolulu.with Avis, picking up at airport. Asking you all if it is with renting in the ports below. First time in Hawaii!
Hilo 9:30-6:30
Kauai 8:30-4:30
Thanks!

Hello friends....Docking at Kahului at 8:00 and looking to book a whale watching excursion at 10:00AM in Lahaina. First time in Maui. Is this doable via taxi or Uber?

Hi, on the crown princess leaving LA on 7th Dec. docking at Kahului on 15th, rather than Lahaina which is a real shame as that seems to be the best port to stop at. In from 7 to 6 so we thought if we took an 11.30 tour which lasts for a few hours, would be ideal which gives us time to get a bus rather than a taxi to save some pennies!
I can only see one tour from here but they look good, but also unsure what the probability of seeing any whales are, as think this is still early in season?
any help appreciated, thanksCan you share from where you see at which dock any cruise ship docks on a specific cruise?

Curious about the MDR menus on a 14 day cruise. Do they repeat after day 7? How many formal nights on a 14 day?

Anyone heard details of the Miracle dry dock scheduled for October 2022? Sailing her in January 2023 to Hawaii and curious what upgrades may be added.

We have sailed out of Long Beach 3 times since cruising resumed. We are not loyal to any particular airline and have flown Southwest/Alaska/Delta.
We book flights 11:30 am or later (when returning home) and have had plenty of time (from both LAX and LGB). We are Platinum and use propriety debarkation, and it's easy to grab an Uber/Lyft as soon as you get off. If you prefer to build in time for the unexpected, book a flight after noon.
LGB airport is closer/easier to get to (LAX traffic is horrible) and the airport itself is 100 times more pleasant than LAX (it's just a nice quiet little airport, even has an outdoor waiting area - I love it). Many times we have walked right through security (no line at all).
But sometimes it just doesn't work out based on price or flights available, so we also have used LAX and it's fine.
Thank you for your response. This is exactly what I was hoping to hear.

I just eyeballed ticket prices. There are nonstop flights to LAX that are much cheaper than the connecting flights to LGB. Why are you choosing to spend more money and time?
Flying Southwest due to massive amount of miles i have. Flight is basically free. They have not yet released their flight schedules for the January 8th sailing, so i don't know if there will be non stop flights or not. Just curious as to how early we can book the return flight.

We are cruising out of Long Beach. Plan is to arrive a day or two prior to sailing. Coming from Atlanta. Waiting on SWA flight schedules to open up for January bookings. Resigned to to fact that there will be connections and getting back to Atlanta at a decent time is not likely.
Will be posting more questions on the Hawaii ports as there does not seem to be much that I can find on these boards. Appreciate all the replies so far!

First ever west cost departure on Carnival Miracle in January 2023. We have always cruised out of Florida and drive to the ports. We are flying into Cali a couple days prior. Wondering how early we can book return flights after debarkation. Any and all advice welcome.
Thanks
