  1. It’s been 4 years since i cruised. We booked a spa cabin on the Horizon but then decided to switch to a Havana Cabana. Does anyone know if they still sell a limited number of the weekly spa passes - the ones that give you access to the hydrotherapy and steam rooms etc ?

  2. Hello Friends

Booking a cruise for my 50th birthday on the Horizon. Trying to decide between a spa cabin, 14201 - Aft Oceanview Walkway Cabin or splurging on a Havan Cabana. Question for anyone who has stayed in the Havana Cabanas - Is it worth it ? Did you use your lanai and the exclusive pool area ? It's an 8 day southern itenerary - so we would have 3 dea days. Intersted in your thoughts.

  3. Hi Crusie Friends

It's been 4 years or so since I last crusied - so I have a couple of questions.

When I book - looking at a cruise for May 2023 - do I have to buy the Carnival Insurance now, or can I add it on after ?

I will be hitting platinum status while on this cruise - do I get my perks on this cruise - or on my next one ?

Thanks in advance for your help 🙂

  4. I agree with lcpagejr- none of the other specialty restaurants offer a similar beverage offer. It's only the steakhouse.

And as for substitutions, I doubt it, but hey- it's free to ask them if you go to the steakhouse on the first night! Maybe they'll offer you a half price cocktail or something! It's not the policy but as I said, it's free to ask and if you don't ask the answer is always no!

We've had free wine in Cucina on the first night - are they no longer offering that ?

  5. Hello neighbor, how are you enjoying the now storm today in our beautiful province???

What would you consider a decent price for flighting out of YYZ? I couldn't find anything under CAN 370.00 (direct flights) versus U$ 190.00 from BUF. When you add parking for the week (or taxi back and forth) in Toronto, it becomes too much.

Flying from Buffalo (Southwest) gives us 2 free bags per person plus the ability to buy stuff in the US on the way back (grocery, drinks, anything). It's a win-win for us.

I would really love to fly from Canada, but for a big family like us, the difference is too much...

    Thanks for reading it...

Snow Snow and more Snow !!!! 44 Days and counting until the Vista !!!

We didn't book until January 11 - so the lowest rate for us on Southwest was going to be $418 USD. I got $460 CDN return from Toronto - so this time it made sense. Also I'm a single woman - not a family - AND I had VISA gift cards from work - so it made sense this time.

  6. Hello

I've cruised with Carnival 9 times and have never had such a hard time trying to determine which ship to book. While I have cruised before this will be my friends first cruise.

We originally booked an interior spa cabin on the Vista (I love the spa cabins - being able to go use the facilities), but after reading several reviews was concerned about comments re crowds and didn't want my friend to have a bad experience on her first cruise.

So then I changed the booking to a balcony spa room on the Breeze (been on her twice( - only to find out flights back from Houston to Toronto or even Buffalo are a bit of a nightmare - no good times.

Sooooooo - Now I am looking at the Magic out of Orlando. Good Price - decent Itinerary. How does the Magic compare to the Breeze and how far is the port from the airport and surrounding area. We'll most likely come in the day before - but I have only cruised from Miami, Lauderdale and San Juan.

    Looking forward to peoples opinions.

    Thanks in Advance
