Staying at Homewood, I know there is a shuttle to the ship, is it slow, hard to get on ? Or how much is a taxi or Uber ? Which is better ?

I am confused, what are the new times for early dining times on the regal eastern ?

Thank you Beauty!
I am seeing on the one recent Patter for the Eastern that the dining times were 5:15 / 5:30. and 7:30/7:45. So, this would be about the same times, with a slight shift later for the Early Dining. (Works of rme!)
Are you for sure that Platinum will not be offered free WIFI any longer? Did you not have the free WIFI.
Just wondering because of conflicting reports.
If this is true, then Maybe we should go online and buy the package.

My Xmas Celebrity cruise has replaced the replacement port from St. Croix to St. Thomas, which port does Celebrity dock? And which beach is best/closes ?

Haven't heard from Celebrity about my Equinox Xmas cruise , but my son recieved this from his TA, looks like it from Celebrity
Subject:Celebrity Equinox SailingDear Guests,We have some important itinerary changes to tell you about for your upcomingEasternCaribbean Cruise departing from Miami. Updates from the Caribbean islands are coming in daily, and we’re doing everything we can to ensure you have the best vacation possible. We know these changes can be disruptive, but we truly believe we’ve found an opportunity to make your upcoming sailing even better. Our teams on the ground in St. Croix haven’t been able to determine when the island will be readyto welcome cruise guests again. So, we’re replacing St. Croix with a visit to the beautiful port of St.Thomas for your sailing. We’re arranging a wide variety of in-depth shore excursions for you to choose from in theSt.Thomas. Once we have them finalized, we’ll send all the details you'll need to your excursions and book them before you sail.If you already booked excursions in St. Croix, you'll automatically receive a full refund back to theform of payment used to book your excursions. For your convenience, we’ve included your current itinerary and your newly revised itinerarybelow. We continue to support the relief efforts for the islands affected by the recent hurricanes, and we’re doing all we can to help welcome cruise ships and visitors once again. We hope you're looking forward to visiting these beautiful islands in the near future as much as we are.Best Regards, -
I agree, 50.00 seems too high compared to the other cruise lines. And there is not even a steakhouse !
-
Red, the steakhouse, in Miami. My favorite restaurant from cleveland Ohio !

I read elsewhere that everything is closed on Xmas day in San Juan ! WHat a wasted port day, why didn't the cruise line schedule a sea day for Xmas ?
-
Sorry but if your ship arrives at 3:30PM.....you might not get off for a half-hour or so. It gets dark earlier in San Juan than in most of the continental US. I would go with a no for the beach.
We arrived were able to get off the ship at 2:00PM last December and went to the fort. It was dark by the time we arrived back on the ship around 5:30PM.
Thanks for the reply, is anything open on Xmas day anyway in San Juan ??

my cruise on Xmas day is scheduled to arrive at 3:30 PM, ship leaves at 11:00 PM. What an awful time. Is it worth it to run to a beach ? Maybe get 2 hours of sun ? Anyone have had the same situation?

Just printed out my Dec. 26, 2016 Sunshine cruise info. The tag says FTTF, doesn't suite cabins go on earlier than FTTF ?
-
Will be going on the Xmas cruise on the Sunshine soon, traveling with my adult children and their significant others. The 2 ports are Grand Turks and Amber Cove. Both are level 2 for the virus. Maybe I should have them stay on board and enjoy the empty ship and lay in the sun there, rather then go to the beach onshore. Of course all four will be using a 40 percent deet repellent all the time. I'm thinking there would be less chance of exposure on the ship then on the islands, correct?
-
I know I get to check in early, can my adult children, who have regular cabins , check in early with me ?
-
Sailing next sat. on Carnival Breeze, Dec. 20 to 29 th. With 2 Formal nites, will one be on Xmas , Wed. Nite ?

Yes, you are correct about the Jones Act, but my example does not pertain to the Jones Act. That Act again, only has to do with 2 US ports, my problem was one US port, Miami and one foreign port, Aruba.
-
You are missing the point, with the 100% guarantee, Carnival would officially release you paper work wise to customs, meaning they would allow you to leave, by just leaving the ship at Aruba, they would not give the release. I can't chance that, without a definitive letter in hand showing permission.
-
Spoke again with Carvival, they do not allow it. The problem if you just leave at the port, this one would be Aruba, and fly home is that customs will give you problems. You came by a ship, that ship controls you custom wise, and they will not release you and communicate that to Aruba customs. Big headaches.
Interesting , I called Royal, and they still do allow it.
My daughter will stay for the whole cruise. Delta charged 200.00 to change a one way ticket, highway robbers........
-
The Jones act forbids leaving a ship if it was 2 US ports. There would be a 300.00 fine imposed. But, My daughter ship originates from Miami, and she would leave from Curacao. Carnival phone rep today told me they change the rule May 2013 forbidding leaving....

Just found out that leaving a cruise and flying home from a Carribean port is not allowed anymore, unless its emergency. My daughter has to leave a 8 day Xmas cruise a few days early for work. My problem is , I have arranged flights for her already from a port and paid for the cruise. What would happen when we leave in the morning at the port and tell the cruise she is not coming back, she will have her luggage, passport and air documents to show them.
Last year on a Royal cruise, my son left early for work, from a port. I had written permission beforehand from Royal Carribean.
Priority Boarding but given a time..

My wife and I are in a ocean suite on the Liberty in a week, my son and his wife and their daughter, are in a separate cabin, not a suite. Since we are traveling together, can they get on the ship with us, i.e. stay in the suite waiting lounge also ?
