  1. We sail on NCL today with an infant. First time with NCL and first time with an infant. The access desk is of no help as they have not gotten back to me about a separate issue/question I had when I contacted them on Saturday.

Does anyone know if the car seat, stroller (baby will be in it), and portable crib count as a piece of luggage for the 2 per person baggage limit?

We are travelling by car after our cruise so we need the car seat and the crib. No exception.

If anyone has an idea it would be appreciated. Just thought I could space things out with an extra bag, but if not I'll have to make it work.

  2. Rude you?

    Never.

    Yes I read it.

Have you ever got to the pier or on the ship and found them applying different rules than on the website?? I have numerous times, that's why I suggested getting it in writing.

I appreciate the fact that you suggested I print out NCL's reply on the matter. I will do that. Thanks ;)

  3. We haven't cruised yet with our baby, but are about to in late September. I agree with the others about how you will not know how your child will turn out in terms of temperament. Our child is very easy going and has been a joy to have around. We have already traveled as a family and are trying a short cruise to try it out. Since we are not newbie cruisers, we know what to expect while on board a ship, especially since we have been on this route before. The only difference is that we will not be able to relax as much since we will have our baby in tow.

As for cruising while pregnant, I would give the same advice as above. How well will your wife be while pregnant? I had borderline HBP for the later 4 months, and I am glad I did not take a vacation during this time. I was also miserable during certain phases of my pregnancy, and even the best cruise would not have helped.

Are you new to cruising? If you are, perhaps plan a shorter cruise regardless of what option you choose.

  4. Send your request to NCL and explain what you want to do, and they will either OK or decline it.

Is it a requirement? I read that for guests with special needs (which could or could not include infants as it is pretty vague) that they require an email, but I wasn't sure if the water fell into that category since they mention in separately in that same FAQ. I'll email anyways to see what they say.

  5. We are first time NCL cruisers and have read about the new outside beverage policy. We will have a 9mo on board with us for a 4 day cruise. We formula feed the baby with powdered formula and water. What would be an acceptable amount of bottled water we could bring with us? A case of 12? Could we get away with 24 do you think? Our little one drinks a lot and I would rather be over prepared than run out. The jugs of water would be a lot harder for us to carry onto/around the ship so individual water would be better. Any experiences or wisdom to share on here would be appreciated. Looking forward to our first NCL cruise after being on a few other lines.

  6. We did the aqua adventure yesterday through Carnival. It took exactly 1hr from the departure time in the ship lounge to arrival at Atlantis. When we got there it was about a 10 min walk to the water park area and a 5 minute lineup for lockers. Our ship was in port until 5pm and the last bus left at 4pm to go back to the ship. We felt really rushed for slides, but we managed to get on all but one slide and we did the whole lazy river. We had to stop for lunch that was included with the excursion. Hope that helps. Btw check to see how many ships are in port on your day. We had 4 in total which made for heavy lines for some slides.

  7. We will be staying at Pan Pacific Hotel one night prior to our Alaskan cruise. Can anyone tell me a bit about the "Fly over Canada" attraction. As far as I can see, it is close to Canada Place and the Pan Pacific, so I am guessing easy walking distance. Has anyone been on it? Any input?

    Thanks.

Have you ever been to Soarin at Walt Disney World, or Soarin over California at California Adventure? The set up is just like that. It's a 4D theatre experience, equipped with special effects like mist and scents. Excellent show.

  8. Senate and House approved a bill to re-open the government. The President promised earlier this evening that he would sign it "immediately."

Yippee! National Parks/Monuments will be open by the time you get there! :D

I was on the September cruise to Hawaii, and you guys on this cruise will be SO HAPPY that the parks will be open. I went to the Arizona Memorial and the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and will have those memories forever. Have fun!
