These brands are very, very similar. I'm 52 and my husband and I have sailed twice on Princess and once on Celebrity. We are about to take another 28 day cruise with Princess in March. I think the crowd on Princess is a bit older. The style of the Celebrity ship was a bit more updated and hipper. And they had a silent disco which was a blast. The shows on Celebrity were amazing! I enjoyed them all. However in my personal opinion the food was not good on Celebrity, especially in the MDR. I'm very picky about food and I loved the food on Princess. And the presentation of the food was lovely. I would sail Celebrity again and while it's hard to be one of the youngest people on a Princess Cruise, it's a bit more elegant and the food is way better.

San Francisco has amazing neighborhoods. Check out the Mission, the Haight, The Filmore, Noe Valley and the Castro. Don't neglect Oakland too. Check out Lake Merritt, Rockridge and Grand/Lakeshore. Bring something warm. It gets cold.

I am about to take a 29 day cruise to the South Pacific in March. 18 out of the 28 days are at sea and I am so excited. I don't really care about ports! I just want day after day of relaxation. The last 8 days are all sea days!

I guess I am in the minority here, but I think the vegi burgers on Princess are fine. As a non meat eater, they are not my all -time favorite, but I can certainly enjoy one topped with cheese and a plate of fries. I haven't tried the ones in the MDR, just from the poolside grill.

We spent a month in Japan last spring and then did a cruise from Tokyo back to Vancouver. You never know when the trees will bloom. It varies year to year, but usually the season varies only within a few days. You have to check Japanese websites to find out the dates of the blooms from year to year. We say stunning flowering all throughout April especially in Kyoto. We spent hours researching where to go and tried to follow their blooming path.

Hi,
I'm new to Celebrity and I have a few questions about the additional cost dining packages. I think I am going to purchase the five restaurant option for myself and for my husband.
1) If I select the second night to begin my package do I then sign up for my remaining restaurant selections or can I do this right when I board? Will this give me enough time to select reasonable dining times (8:30 PM or later) for the remaining four nights?
2) If I'm scheduled to do the "Select Dining" option do I just show up each night and get a beeper or is it better to select my times in advance using the Celebrity website? I'd rather be a bit more spontaneous and play it by ear. I don't mind having a drink and then waiting to be seated. We like to eat on the late side around 8:15 PM or 8:30 PM.
3) How do I sign up for the Champagne Tea? It's not offered on the Celebrity website.
Thank you very much.

Hello,
I'm sailing on a two-week cruise from Yokohama Japan to Vancouver, Canada from May 7-May 21. Will it be warm enough to enjoy the pool or should I plan mostly on being inside? Will I need a warm jacket while at sea or will shorts and t-shirts make the cut?
Thank you.
