  1. Walk out of the port and across the street to the Playa Mia office. Pay there and they will put you in a cab to playa mia and cover the return trip as well.

  2. RCCL does a great job and the crew on Navigator were awesome when we sailed in September. Our son was 3 at the time and he wanted to be in adventure ocean all the time! To be in adventure ocean the kids must be 3 and potty trained. Under 3 they have the Royal Tots and Babies Nursery that you must pay per hour. They have toys available for check out for free that you can take back to your cabin. You can also exchange them as often as you would like.

As for cabins, we aren't ready to use a balcony cabin with our kids. (Those jokers will climb on anything) navigator has panoramic ocean views that are awesome. We had a larger panoramic oceanview and we had great space and the kids loved the 6 panes of floor to ceiling glass to see everything outside.

Port wise : Cozumel was the best for the kids as we went to Playa Mia. They have a splash park that is awesome.

We are looking at another cruise in May. We have only cruised on Royal, but we are looking at Carnival Freedom out of Galveston. Brand new Camp Ocean starting at age 2 and up included. So we will try it out and see how it goes. Looking forward to getting back out to sea!

  3. We just came back from Navigator and took our 3 year old and 17 month old. Our son (3 yo) loved Adventure Ocean. He wanted to go play with "friends" there more than hanging out with us! Our daughter went to the Nursery for a few hours each night. They have a great staff and your kids will like it there better than your cabin. The nursery does offer a toy lending program. They have a book with a picture of what is in each bag and you choose and take it back to your cabin to use.

There is no adventure ocean or nursery on the first night. So for that night you are on your own. They all open at 9 am on day 2.

Adventure Ocean has a morning session from 9-12, afternoon session from 2-5, and evening session from 7-10. These sessions for ages 3 and up are free. After 10 is the late night party and it is paid by the hour.

We are glad to help with any other info you might need!

  4. My husband is in charge of the photos. I'll see what we have.

We kept the curtains open all the time, even at night. We had a full moon on the last two evenings. Beautiful. Sunrises and sunsets are great, too.

The bathroom is rather small. I don't know what it will be like with young children. There is plenty of room for the children to play in the living area.

  5. Shhh... let's keep it a secret as the cabin is amazing. You'll love it.

It's the main reason we'd sail the Navigator again.

Did you happen to take any pictures? We are taking our 3 year old and one year old... We changed to this because of the larger square footage and 3 year old will love the windows. Did you have to close the curtains at night or could keep them open all the time?

  6. We were on this cruise, too. Hi, Deb! Sorry we didn't cross paths.

This was our first RCCL cruise, so everything was a new procedure. Embarkation was surprisingly quick and uneventful for us. We arrived in Galveston about 10:45. We stood in the priority embarkation line for suites and Crown & Anchor status (attained through our X sailings) until 11:00, made it through security and then check-in by 11:15. We were onboard by 11:30. As the cabins were not ready until 12:30, we skipped the Windjammer and walked around the ship. Our luggage was delivered about 1:15 and we unpacked/relaxed until the safety drill. We'd grade embarkation as an A.

We also dined in Sabor twice. It was relaxing due to the service and menu... and the tequila laced sangria!

We chose early walk-off disembarkation... it was a breeze. We were in our vehicle by 7:20 and home in Sugar Land by 8:30.

We've come to the conclusion that every line has it's strengths and weaknesses. We loved our cabin (Large Panoramic Oceanview on the 12th floor) for the price we paid. We did not care for the food in the Windjammer. Very inferior quality and selection compared to other lines we have sailed.

Bottom line... we'd sail the Navigator again if we could get the cabin we like for a reasonable price. However, it would not be our first choice out of the Galveston/Houston area.

Our next cruise is on the Royal Princess out of Brooklyn in October. A new adventure (flying ... UGH!) awaits!

We are booked in a larger Panoramic oceanview next week.... How was the cabin?

  7. You can go to Playa Mia Cozumel dot com website and purchase directly from them. We will be there next week and confirmed that their "at the gate" price is the same as online directly from them. A cab won't be more than $15 each way and you can come and go when you please. There are always tons of

    Cabs ready to go!

  8. Don't know for sure, but I don't think you can see the windows on these staterooms from the bridge, like they can see the forward OV staterooms.

That is my thought too and they are probably tinted better.

Are you going to be on Sept 14? We have a larger panoramic on that sailing.

  9. We were told by RCCL that they will apply a maximum of 2 discounts on a reservation. So, if there is a residency discount, public service discount, wow sale, bogoho, loyalty, etc; they will apply the best 2. Sometimes the discount for your Crown and Anchor tier isn't the best discount.

And of course they will reprice the whole thing to make changes!
