  1. After 12 cruises and 140 days on Silversea ships we are about to take our first cruise on the Spirit. Can any one please advise what difference can we expect from the older but much loved ships.

    Thank you

  2. No silver box for our forthcoming TA in April but a 94 page email attachment with our tickets (page 3 and Itinerary page 7) the rest appears to be excursions, destination information and blank pages for notes. Certainly not worth downloading and printing the whole 94 pages.

  3. I use cruiseships dot com, to keep track of my cruises, and flightmemory dot com to keep track of my flights - both provide a neat map of my travels around the globe. (two separate maps from two separate sites)

I would dearly like to list all my travels, and display the trips by both air and sea on the one map.

Does anyone know a website/app that can combine both air and sea journeys ?

    Cheers Matt

Apologies this is not strictly a cruise question

I use tripit, works well but does require a lot of input.

  4. I purchased a pair of slacks in the boutique which came with un-hemmed bottoms so the wearer could hem to the leg length .I was advised to contact the cabin steward who would arrange the work with the on-board tailor. They have menu pricing for most alterations. I assume that it is part of the laundry service.

  5. Thank you for all the replies and suggestions, with past dealings with Celebrity, it seems that depending on the consultant who answers the call, the outcome can be different. Usually a call to michael@ will get you a definitive answer. I never accept the first answer as gospel but like the previous posters usually try 2 or 3 calls before giving up or getting a good outcome.

  6. We are booked on the Millie Dec cruise and Celebrity has just announced the sale of Suite Gty's .Does anyone have any knowledge whether we can change our AC 1 cabin for the Suite without losing our OBC's and drink package?

The cost difference is slightly higher than we paid.

    Thanks

  7. Being an ardent tea drinker I find that the biggest problem with on board tea is the water taste,We often ask the Steward to use fresh water rather than the usual tap water from a large urn that has been boiled and reboiled many times. As a previous poster said, most stewards can conjure up some remarkable items from the galley including freshly boiled "real" water.

  8. Next Thursday to Sunday I'll be on the Jewel. Rather than doing a review, If anyone has any questions please post them and i'll try to find answers or take photos.

I notice the P&O forum is a bit quiet so I thought i'd try to contribute.

Just booked the Singapore to Brisbane cruise and this will be first time with P & O .Have loads of questions, drink prices, service charge for drinks and gratuities. I understand that tipping can not be prepaid. Average price for wine ,internet and other optional extras.

Thanks for any info you can supply.

  9. NJBelle,

Thank you so much for the info on theWind.

We will be boarding in Muscat and wonder if it possible to find out which nights will be formal ? Looking back on this thread it appears that it is wise to prebook La T and the Pool grill on those nights where formal is required in the MDR. At this time it is a guessing game as to when the Formal nights will occur. Again thank you so much for your excellent reviews of the current cruise.

  10. I booked a future cruise last December whilst on Board Millenium. The consultant assured me that it could be transferred to another cruise if I desired.

When my TA tried to change the booking she was told OK but the extra promos would not be honoured. After an email to the Head office all was sorted with no penalties or loss of OBC, Bev, or Grat packages.

It appears that when you ring the local number you are automatically redirected to a foreign call centre .These people are obviously not familiar with Celebrity Term and Conditions associated with booking on board.

  11. I recently booked a future cruise whilst on board to take advantage of an offer too good to miss. The On board future cruise manager assured me that I should take any cruise and change it to one I really wanted after I arrived home without penalties and all extras intact. Yesterday my TA attempted to change the booking but was told the promo would be lost and also said that my elite status would not get me an upgrade. After searching cruise critic I found an email address to whom I should address my complaint. This morning less than 24 hours after my email I received a call from Celebrity full of apologies and the matter sorted immediately. I live in Australia and it seems all enquiries to the local Celebrity office are routed through to a foreign call centre whose consultants lack any knowledge of Celebrity terms and conditions.

Full marks to the American lady who rang me, it has restored my faith in their customer relations.
