  1. Lanky Lad and Salacia, I guess I am not thinking of a change in cabins as an upgrade, but in terms of comfort. Since this is an October crossing, the weather could be rough. Being the 7th cabin from the front on deck 11 may be more rocky than being squarely midship. Thoughts?

  2. Please help me make a decision.

I have the following two cabins reserved on the QM2. Cabin 11101, a BB balcony midship for $1,449 and 11014, a BF balcony forward for $1,199.

Although the difference is only $250 per person, I think the BB cabin is deeply discounted. Is the upgrade from BF to BB worth the extra $500?

We have both sailed many times and are ok with ship movement.

    Thanks!

  3. PNWSon, I really like a balcony. It is part of journey for me but I didn't want to wander the cities solo, so I will need to pay for excursions. But, now, I can do both!

Twin A, yeah, best to be with hubby over Christmas. He must be a good sport!

  4. I just booked the Queen Victoria for New Year's Eve. Decided that I wasn't going to be at the mercy of other people and whether or not they will include me in their plans. So, I took matters into my own hands and was awarded for this decision. I booked the cheapest cabin and was upgraded the next day to a balcony!

  5. Deck 12 Pool is deep enough for swimming, 5' I think.

I am actually not interested in swimming. I need to walk laps for my hip. Being 5'3", I don't want the pool too deep. Chest height is perfect. With it being January, my two choices will be the spa or deck 12.It sounds like the depth of deck 12 is a bit better for me. And, it would be great to watch the ocean while doing this.

  6. I used them twice for my son on RCCL. It worked out great both times. However, the other posters have a point...if you cruise often...even once a year...I'd go to Men's Wearhouse (or similar place) where you can get a tux for the price of renting one to two times!! Yes, you have to carry it on board in a suitbag, but it's yours. And...once you have a tux...you'll find over the years that you have many other occasions to wear one! I didn't buy for my son because he's still growing! :)
