- Thanks. I didn't know you could attend a singles/solo gathering on NCL without a studio! I have only sailed NCL once (prefer Princess or Carnival) and it was not as a solo. The only time I experienced a great singles meet/greet/mingle was on a Princess transatlantic to Europe several years ago. Perhaps I will have to reconsider …

Reading posts, it appears the lounge is "not used that much", which leads me to believe that other than price and snacks there isn't much advantage to booking a studio cabin. Comments from those who have used them please. I know every cruise is different ...

:D Thanks!

Starboard cabins on Empress deck of Dream????
-
I am assuming all balcony cabins on Dream are covered?
-
What are Premier cruises?????
-
GREAT! I know I read a post somewhere that indicated you needed to reserve, but not on the Dream. Can't remember which ship. Take care ...
-
Do you need to make reservations for the Punchliner shows on the Dream? I enjoy the shows and always arrive early, but having to make reservations puts a damper on the whole thing …

Are there enough parks at the port parking so you don't have to worry about it being full?
-
Regal Princess didn't do this when I was on board last year. Perhaps something new. Can you request a dinner time, or is it in their hands?
-
Never sailed MSC before. I have seen remarks about having to register(??) for shows and certain mealtimes??? Anything else different from other mainstream cruise lines?
-
Thanks so much for the info. Happy sailing!:)

Can you use the retreat pool on the Regal without paying for admission to the Sanctuary? Is it usually crowded?
-
To clarify, you cannot even use only the pool unless you pay, correct?? I realize, as stated previously, there are fees if you want to ensure you have a lounge chair reserved. Is there another area with a pool that is not in the sun? If so, is there a charge to use it?

Thanks for the great review -- I will be on her in one week.

Thanks. Love my grown kids and grandkids, but this trip is for ME! I need the break too.

Princess is my favorite, hands-down.

shoppingfever, you two are JUST the kind of wonderful cruisers I like to meet when I am at sea -- happy and glad to be on the glorious ocean on a glorious ship. Unfortunately a lot of people just want to complain because everything isn't perfect!
I'll be on the Legend in two weeks also, and I thank you for the great photos.
A question: Do you know if the Legend had a passenger coin laundry? Some people criticize anyone for even thinking about laundry on a cruise, but it enables me to pack lighter. In addition, I don't mind one bit, as I am not a sun worshipper.
Also, do they absolutely keep kids out of the Serenity area?
Hope you get to cruise many times in your life ...

Flyer, thanks for posting the old photos -- they were GREAT. Really shows how much cruise ships have changed. I bet the ride was a lot rockier than today's ships, huh??

My assumption is that EVERY room on the Triumph has a small refrigerator, including the 1A's. Please confirm - thanks!
-
Thanks for your advice on the rooms. I feel SOOOO much better about my choice now. Especially since you said the room was quiet. Can't quite figure out how you can get a room with windows for a 1(A) price, but I won't complain!!! And a toilet with a view -- WOW -- something to write home about ...
Any more tips about the Triumph?

I will be on the Carnival Triumph in January 2009, shortly after she comes out of drydock. In your recent post you describe what must be a cabin I have booked. I am on a back-to-back cruise and have cabin 2444 one week and 2445 the next week. Couldn't believe that I could get a 1A with a window.
Questions:
Most importantly: Was it noisy??? Looks like a stairwell is next door.
Is it an obstructed view? I don't believe so, but want to double check.
Did they have a "sinles mingler" one of the first evenings?
Any tips?
Thanks for any info you can provide.

I enjoy cruising for the experience of being on the ocean, not the waterworks, corny pool games, etc. Therefore, I usually try for a balcony even though they are so expensive. Nothing beats watching the ocean go by on a warm, sunny day ...
