  1. I received the luggage tags from Azamara 8 days after I called (and had already printed them from the e docs) but these are so much easier to use.  You don't have to do  arts and crafts with the ones you print out, using packing tape and fasteners.

I've even had them fall off once.  These are like the ones the airlines use.

  2. They seem to have fixed the web problem, but the luggage tags are still not ready.  Because our luggage is picked up at our hotel by our tour group and brought to the ship, we need to have proper tags.  Azamara has indicated they'll mail them to me.  We'll see!!

  3. The luggage tags were not available when I got my documents, so I couldn't print them.  I called today and they are still having web site problems, but they will mail them when they reissue the docs.    Seems to be taking a long time to straighten out this problem.

  4. I got my boarding documents a couple of weeks ago, but have not been able to check in to get my luggage tags.  Does anyone have any idea on how to access those, or I suppose I'll have to call them.

  5. We are looking for a private car and English speaking guide for one day in Tokyo with pickup and drop off at our hotel.  Has anyone had experience with this?  We do not wish to use a guide that utilizes public transportation, as many of them seem to do.  I've seen listings on the internet, but am looking for recommendations.

  6. We did that tour about four years ago. The dune ride was about an hour in a jeep type vehicle and was very bumpy! They took us to a tourist type tented area where there were camel rides, belly dancing (not exactly Arab entertainment) and a mediocre buffet. The ride back to the hotel was on a regular road very near the tent. We are going back to that area in March and will not be going on that excursion again!

  7. When we did this tour a little over a year ago, the canoe trip was only about 15 minutes.

There are a number of the Embara villages, and some are a lot closer to the dock. The bus ride to the dock was about an hour. There was a fairly steep walk from the canoe to the village, but there were members of the tribe helping people who were having difficulty. This tour, however, was a highlight of the cruise.

There was some rain and it was muddy, so wear closed shoes and carry an umbrella.

  8. We were in Antigua a little over a year ago for the day and had a guide (they're waiting at the gift store where the buses drop you off on the Antigua on your Own tour). We didn't have lunch, but there are many small restaurants on and near the main square. He took us to a café for coffee and pastry, and I don't remember the name, but it was great coffee. We're going back there on another cruise in April and would also be interested in the name of a restaurant. Antigua is a lovely town with really nice crafts for sale. There was a guide on our bus, and I imagine he would have been able to recommend a restaurant.

  9. We did the Cinque Terre tour with HAL a couple of years ago from Livorno. It involved a bus, a train, and quite a bit of walking. I think it would be very difficult to do on your own. The towns were interesting, but very very crowded. I had been told that these towns were spectacular. I wouldn't call them spectacular, but they were lovely, though I wouldn't go back.

  10. We've joined the roll calls to set up private tours, and also get valuable information about the ports, hotels, taxi services, etc. We've attended the meet and greet and have also arranged them. The cruise we are on later this month is all inclusive, and tours are also included, so the roll call is quite inactive. We have met other cruisers that have become friends. We've never done cabin crawls, slot pulls, but one time there was a gift exchange which didn't work out very well. We've found CC to be a great asset when planning our cruises, and have received very good advice.
