All of these things are essentially separate-- the Bowfin and Missouri are commercial enterprises with entry fees and are not run by the National Park Service.

USS Arizona Memorial is part of the National Park Service and is administered by the US Navy. There is no fee to go to the Arizona Memorial (aside from the $1 administration fee) but you do need to reserve tickets ahead of time. Do so directly with the NPS at https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/233338/ticket/16

Do not buy tickets for the Arizona Memorial from any other site but this one.

Thank you so much for this information. I was able to book our USS Arizona time through my rec.gov account for $1 each. I chose an early time at 9:45 a.m. for April 2024. We will take a taxi from the pier to Pearl Harbor. Based on what I read Taxi, Uber or Lyft would be the quickest way.

What type of cabin will you be in? Just did 28days on the Crown in a mini. We used a european plug under the headboard that had 3 US type plug sockets in it( I believe in the above thread)  We were able to plug the lamp plug back in and connect an extension cord that ran to my wifes side. In a mini, the desk is right next to the bed and you can plug in a US type plug( used for my Bipap). Behind the TVs there was a US plug that I was able to plug in my muli port/USB device. If not in mini, you can plug in extensions to both sides of the bed Great info on other thread on what adapters to buy.

Thank you so much. I was not going to bring my european adapter plug-in but now I will. 😍

Because when one person gets up at night, the bright light can wake up the other person who is sleeping.

I understand the lights bother you, but for us we have night lights around our home & leave our bedroom door open (since we are empty nesters). I have gotten used to it, so on the cruise ship I welcome the light from the floor under the night stands because it is so dark at night if we need to get up when our drapes are closed. I no longer bring a night light for our cabin. I am glad there is a way you can block the light since you are not a fan of them.

Gloria, I'm making notes about all the best places to get some shave ice!!

Oh my goodness Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice in Downtown Lahaina is awesome. I plan to take my husband there once we get off the tender boat.

  5. If you are cruising out of Seattle, Washington get flowers from Pike Place Market. They are fresh, gorgeous, & super reasonable. You will need a vase.

Yes, you can bring flowers on board.

  6. I noticed late Thursday night that the price for my upcoming 16 day Hawaii cruise (Round trip from Seattle) had dropped significantly. We were booked in a regular balcony stateroom on the Crown Princess on deck 10. All balconies dropped to $800 & all mini suites dropped to $1600 at the standard fare.

My Princess Vacation Planner redid our booking without the Princess Plus this time (we have a lot of onboard credit, so no need to add the PP). I was able to switch us to a Mid Aft Mini Suite. If I wanted to add the PP it would still be less than my original Balcony booking with the PP.

With this new booking I had to pay the price in full, but I have until July to cancel it if need be.

I am beyond excited. It will be so nice to have the extra living space for our 16 day cruise. Plus, no airfare or Princess transers needed since we live 40 minutes from the Seattle Pier.

  7. I have had 3 mini bar set ups this year on 3 different cruises. All 3 set ups included 8 mini bottles. "2 Gin, 2 Vodka, & 4 Scotch Whiskey." They little fridge had Water, Tonic, Fizzy Water, Coke, Sprite, & Beer.  On the Caribbean Princess I was able to exchange my Scotch Whiskey for Barcardi Rum.  I could not exchange the Scotch Whiskey for Rum on the Discovery Princess.  However, I could have exchanged them for Vodka & Gin.  I also exchanged my Sprite for Diet Sprite. That is my only experience with the mini bar set up so far.  Call Room Service on your stateroom phone to make any changes.

  8. I was on the Discovery Princess in April for 2 weeks. The 1st week we were in a Deluxe Balcony stateroom. It was lovely. The 2nd week we were in a Mini Suite. Mini Suites are wonderful, however the Mini Suites on the Discovery Princess have some elevatated finishes.  All the counter tops are Granite.

I wanted to book a Mini Suite again on the Discovery Princess for our upcoming cruise, however they were more pricey this time.

You will love any stateroom on the Discovery, but if you can book a Mini Suite you will LOVE IT.

FYI The Mini's on deck 8 are a lot smaller (250 sq ft)  On the other decks the Mini Suites are 300-329 sq. ft.

  10. Being Elite you also get a free wine tasting on the last sea day, I believe.  There are also the Canapes delivered to your stateroom on formal nights.  You also get a 10% discount in the onboard shops, spa, & excursions.

Here’s an example from Ruby Princess dated 2/23 which is nicer than reports from other Princess ships where it’s just a time to show up for a test.

That is good to know.  I will be on B2B on the Discovery Princess & wondered how they would handle it.  The Mimosa is a wonderful perk.

  12. I do have my vaccination card listing all three of my Covid Shots.  In Washington State we can go online to the Washington Department of Health and get our Digital Covid shot information with a QR Code.  I have it saved on my phone.  I updated my info when I got my Booster.  Now my digital card shows all 3 shots.  When I went on a Princess Cruise this past December I had my Vaccination card with me, but showed them my digital proof from my phone at the San Francisco Pier.  I did not need to show my actual card.  In Cabo San Lucas we had to show proof of vacciniation to go into shops and restaruants by the port.  I just showed them my digital card on my phone.  For my upcoming Cruise on the Allure I will show my proof of vaccination from my cell phone, but will have my actual card with me as well tucked safe in my bag.  Many people of other countries are not given an actual card for proof.  They only have digital proof, which the cruise lines honor.  That is my experience & it was no problem at all.

We sail on August 22nd (Sunday) and plan to get the antigen test on August 19th (Thursday) that should be ok, correct?  If I remember correctly testing day does not count as part of the 3 day number..

Yes, you are correct.  Testing on Thursday (which is 3 days prior to boarding) for our Sunday Departure is what Princess said in their email to me this morning.

  14. I had issues reserving dining times on Dine my Way.  Someone suggested removing the app from your device and reinstalling it.  Once I went into the app section of my cell phone, I realized I was using an older version of the Medallion App.  I have had the App for about 4 years.  Once I installed the new version everything works great.  I had no issues selecting my boarding time.  Good Luck.

If the people dealing with this are still working from home, then snail mail will not be opened anytime soon.

I recently sent my CCL Stock Statement snail mail.  It was added to my Booking within 5 to 7 days  from when I put it in the mail box.  It was wonderful to see it added to my booking.

They just changed my itenarary from Endicott Arm and took out Canada ports. Kept my booking exactly the same I hear those on Emerald we offered a move.

We are one the couples who were booked on the Emerald and recieved this email yesterday from Princess Cruise Line.  Our booking is now on the Majestic Princess.  We are thrilled and so excited.  We are already vaccinated as well.  ❤️  I am fine with not stopping in Canada since we live in the Seattle area and visit Victoria BC every couple of years.

    Valued guest,

I have some exciting news to share! We know you have been eager for more information about your upcoming cruise to Alaska, and I am very pleased to let you know that following passage of the Alaska Tourism Restoration Act, work with Alaska government officials, and recent guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we are announcing our plan to restart cruising to Alaska with roundtrip Seattle cruises to Alaska later this summer. Our first 2021 Alaska voyage will set sail on Majestic Princess® on Sunday, July 25, 2021.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, these cruises to Alaska are available for guests who have received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the beginning of the cruise and have proof of vaccination. Crew vaccinations will be in accordance with CDC guidelines.

For our shortened Alaska summer season we will be sailing one ship, Majestic Princess, on our 7-Day Alaska Inside Passage (with Glacier Bay National Park) itinerary, roundtrip from Seattle, that begin and end on Sundays. As a result of these changes, your upcoming cruise booking, referenced above, has been affected.

We are offering you three options to choose from regarding your booking:

Option 1: Transfer to an equivalent Alaska cruise on Majestic Princess. We will rebook you to the cruise departing one day later than your current booking. Your cruise fare, incentives and promotions will all be protected. Your new booking will be in the equivalent or upgraded stateroom category. Please (click here) to see which cruise you will be rebooking to on Majestic Princess if you select this option.

For those of you who booked a full Suite or Club-Class Mini-Suite: due to the limited availability of suites on these equivalent cruises, we are automatically rebooking you to a suite on Majestic Princess for the comparable or equivalent cruise. You do not have to elect an option on the below form. However, if you would prefer one of the other options listed below, please reach out to your personal vacation consultant to make that selection.

Princess pre- or post-cruise transfers between the airport and the pier will transfer to your new booking. Other non-cruise-fare purchases through Princess, such as Princess EZair, shore excursions, specialty dining, spa or gifts will be refunded to the original form of payment.

Option 2: Bonus Future Cruise Credit. Sail with us again by accepting our special higher-value Future Cruise Credit (FCC) offer of 100% value of cruise fare paid as a refundable FCC, plus a Bonus non-refundable FCC equal to 10% of the cruise fare paid.*

    • This gives our team a chance to shine at a later date by using the Future Cruise Credit on any voyage booked by and sailing by December 31, 2022.
    • Money paid to Princess in excess of the cruise fare for Princess Vacation Protection, taxes, fees and port expenses, EZair or hotel packages will be refunded, as will any prepaid shore excursions and/or special service items.

    *Bonus FCC minimum of $25 per person (minimum varies by FCC currency: $25USD, $25CAD, $25AUD, $25NZD, £25GBP, €25EUR, ¥2,500)

Option 3: Refund of all monies paid. Money will be refunded to the original method of payment.

Let us know your choice by completing this (online form) before June 30, 2021. The form will give you the option to transfer to the equivalent July cruise, receive bonus Future Cruise Credits, or request a full refund of all monies paid.

We are giving you priority to transfer to a Majestic Princess cruise to Alaska before we open these sailings to the general public on May 21, 2021. Space in some categories is very limited, so we recommend that you act quickly to fill out the online form if you wish to accept Option 1 and sail with us to Alaska this summer. This will also give you the first chance to rebook your preferred shore excursions, as they are likely to fill up quickly. If a request is not received by June 30, 2021, you will automatically receive the FCC option. we ask for your patience in affording us the time to work through processing rebookings, refunds and FCCs. We are working hard to make sure every booking is handled accurately and efficiently.

Thank you again for choosing Princess Cruises. I hope that you will choose to be among the first of our guests to be back on board our ships. On behalf of our entire team, we cannot wait to welcome you aboard.

    Sincerely,

    Jan Swartz signature
