  1. They also have a new Bermuda itinerary that doesn't look all that great. Either five or six days (on their website at first look it's five but when you click for more info it looks like six). You are on Bermuda 24 hours, from 1:30 pm one day to 1:30 the next day. Not good timing at all. I've cruised to Bermuda several times. Considering buses, the ferry or a taxi you will have to probably choose between St. Georges or the pink sand beaches. Unless you spend your time right at the Royal Dockyard.

  2. Just watching the news. They reported on the Pride and that they would have new itineraries out of Baltimore. Just checked Carnival's site and see they have added a Bermuda cruise. We sailed Pride to Bermuda once, while they still did that but it was a seven day cruise. The new cruises listed show getting into Bermuda at 1:30 on one day and leaving at 1:30 the next day. Not ideal if you ask me. Considering that unless you want to spend time at the Royal dockyard, cruisers will be very limited in how much time they can spend in either St Georges or the pink sand beaches. Any thoughts???

  3. It has been almost two years since I cruised. We sailed the Pride with HMC on the itinerary. Waters were rough the day we went but it was still a great beach experience. We'd like to do that again.

For those of you in the know...what is the best time of year to visit HMC? I remember reading on the message board before how sometimes the HMC part of the cruise has been cancelled due to rough weather. I'd be bummed if we missed it (totally understanding stuff happens) but I want to plan wisely.

  4. We were on the Dream in March, and this was not our menu. If your decision to book the Chef's Table was based on this menu (like ours was) please look up more recent reviews and then Google photos of the dishes. The current menu is very different than this menu.

I have read that folks who've had both menus prefered the old menu. We just did chefs table on the Pride and we liked it very much. But I think I would have prefered the old menu. So I think it's a good idea to see the new menu before reserving a spot at the chefs table.

  5. I was at the commisary yesterday and looked specifically for 20oz bottles of soda. RC cola, Diet Rite and others under that general brand were the only 20oz I saw. I love RC but try to keep to diet soda. I think Diet Rite cola is gross, but their other flavors are pretty good. BTW, does anyone know the story behind 16.9 oz soda bottles? Weird.

  6. I love all the pics. I think I'm gettng excited about a possible Legend cruise. I don't like the idea of flying to the port but I have a sister in Tampa who we haven't seen in over a decade. I think a cruise with her would be awesome. Didn't realize that the Legend was also a Spirit class ship like Baltimore's Pride. So the pics were so fun for me to see. Very familiar, but the decor is changed. And I'm going to say it...I think I like the Legend's decor better, from what I've seen. But I should wait till I see her in person!

  7. Peddling drugs? I get it.

OMG. Peddling drugs. Too funny. Glad you weren't "silent" on that funny line.

And to those who want to pooh pooh the OP...get off your high horse. It would be perfectly understandable for the OP to assume that since they've cruised with bikes before that they could do that on this cruise. I know we should never assume and that we are responsible to read the whole contract before signing or agreeing, but very few of us do that. This is a good reminder for all of us to read every inch of our contracts.

  8. Okay, I'll be the one...WTH is a white party? :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Well...when we were on Majesty, everyone dressed in white. If you didn't bring a white outfit you could purchase a white t-shirt with an angel wing print on the back. Then you went into a very crowded disco where you couldn't hear or see much what the CD was trying to accomplish as it was so chaotic. If you were smart, and we were, you got the heck out of Dodge and went to karaoke! Basically it was a dance party.

  9. We just got off the Pride yesterday. My conscience also told me to write a review. This was also our 8th cruise, the 3rd on Carnival. Our expectations for this cruise were very reasonable; getting some rest before starting an other crazy year! We knew the port of calls were not the best, the weather could be an issue and that Carnival is not an high end cruise line... We were also prepared for a fair level of noise; knowing that this was holiday seasons and that our cabin was located just below Lido Deck. Yes I had read post from this site, and had cruised before but there is no way I could have expected what we had do deal with.

    Cabin 8237:

As we got to our cabin, we noticed a high level of noise coming from above. The noise level kind of got me worried, but I figured it had to be expected. By the time we went to bed, we knew there was a real problem. It was not just normal walking, talking or chair scratching on the floor. It was all of that plus constant hammering; like if we were just below a construction site. But by 3am, we realized that this was nothing. We then felt like if you were just below a bowling alley. We heard constant banging of metal against metal, cart rolling and hitting the metal counters. Add to this, some yelling and singing. By then, we call guest services. Someone came to our room and said they were to speak to the staff. We were told that it was "normal" as the staff was doing the daily cleaning of the kitchen. I called back guest services about 45 minutes later. Ask for someone to come back to the room. I wanted someone to stay in our room for a little while to get a feeling of the situation. No one ever came back, even when I called on other nights. I went to guest services during the day to ask for someone to come to our room during the night to get a real feel of the situation. No one was interested, I got the feeling that they could not care less about the situation. It got to the point that my husband got into the habit of getting dress in the middle of the night to go complain personaly to the kitchen staff!!!

We are not complainer. I usually sleep like a rock. But this was awful. And yes we had the ear plug (it did nothing, that's how bad the situation was). I cannot believe that management is aware of the situation. Otherwise, I am sure that something would have been done. I have the feeling that management thinks like other blogger from this site that people just want a discount. This is not the case. This cabin as it is now should not be rented out. It is impossible to sleep in it. We did get some compensation and a discount on a future cruise. This is not the issue. We were not looking for a deal. It this had been the case, we would have chosen a lower category cabin...

THERE IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH THIS CABIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All we wanted was some rest. We got none.

We were on the Riviera deck on our Pride cruise of 10/2011 and had a big problem with noise above too. This happened on sea days only, making me think that something was rolling around. I decided not to complain as my husband slept fine through it...maybe it was just me being oversensitive. But it did affect my days. I just got up at dawn, collected a few things and went to lounge at Serenity. When I got up there I thought that maybe others had the same problem. There were people sleeping on the couches near the bar. In fact, there wasn't an open space...cause they did look pretty comfy!

I said that I wouldn't sail Pride again unless it was a Bermuda itinerary but I changed my mind and we'll sail again on her in Nov. to Grand Turk, HMC and Freeport. I booked a cabin on a floor where there are cabins above and below. We'll see what happens.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. Hope your next cruise is more smooth sailing.

  10. I don't have my little cruise book handy just now (one of my daughters has it) but I recall reading that one should bring at least two suits (so one can always have a dry, fresh suit). You should also have a cover up for going to and from pool areas. I was grateful for that info on my last cruise when I was standing next to a very drippy person in the elevator who looked like she wished she had my cover up.
