  1. Just wanted to say THANKS for posting this. I am sailing on the Imagination as well on 04/11 and I am always cold. I planned on bringing at least 2 cardigans to keep me warm, but I am glad to hear that we can adjust our room temp. I will put it to a warmer temp and not tell DH, he is always hot and likes the room freezing so he can stay warm under the covers- not this time!!;)

You cannot adjust the actual "Temperature" of your stateroom, but can control the "Air flow" which will affect the temp. to some degree.

  2. In your stateroom the airflow can be controlled by a vent in the ceiling....but not anywhere else on the ship ! Evening can get cool outside on deck so a light sweater or jacket would be suggested fror any passenger if needed. Sometimes inside the ship can be cool regarldess of the time of day. Pack and be prepared just in case.

  4. And if you advise a casino manager in advance and he helps select the machine, don't you think that he is going to persuade you to a machine that has the lowest odds of paying out, or that the machine he suggests will be tightened up a little bit more than usual and lower the odds of paying out??? Just saying.

  5. Thank you all so much. I love CC - the people here are wonderfully helpful. Leaving in 17 days CANNOT WAIT.

You leave with this group in 17 days ? And the TA you booked with did not advise how the free berth was being handled yet ? Hmmmmmm interesting because that should have been taken care of long time ago after final payments were made and the group was finalized and then made you aware (or perhaps the group leader) of how much and how it was applied.

  6. The free "berth" (cruise fare) you earn will be based on:

    1. The highest # of category staterooms sold

    2. Free berth is only based on the 1st and 2nd pasenger occupancy/rate. 3d and or 4th has no bearing on the outcome.

    3. In your situation, since you have 4 insides sold and 4 aft staterooms sold... the inside staterooms will be the final outcome for the free berth UNLESS you happened to sell 1 more aft stateroom and then would be eligible for one free berth at that fare you contracted under.

  7. That's what I am worried about. Why so long? The charge on my cc is actually from Carnival, not our travel agency, so the credit should come thru ok from Carnival? I do have cancellation confirmations from the agency but feel this has been too long. Anything to do about it?

Cancellation confirmations from the "agency" vs. cancellation confirmations from the "cruiseline" are two different things......If the agency cannot provide you a cancellation confirmation from the "cruiseline"....there may be where the problem is.

My TA says that Carnival has not issued the refund yet. They had told her it would be "within the week" and that was last week. Today she was told within the next two weeks. This sounds strange to me. It is not my credit card company.

If the TA is telling you first "within the week" and then within the "next two weeks", I would demand a 3 way conference call, or on speaker phone w/ you, your TA and CCL (if you are working with a B & M Agency nearby) with a CCL supervisor stating the refund has not yet been processed, for your verification of your TA being straight with you.

It's your $$$ and I would be fighting for it too, but you may have to get a bit more agressive to verify your TA is being straight with you. To process a refund request SHOULD NOT be taking that long at all, in normal situations as many above have verified based on their experiences. Good Luck.

  8. Carnival is usually very quick to "Authorize" the refund to your c.card (banking institution)... the delay is when does the bank provide the credit back to you ! Your TA should get a confirmation from CCL stating they authorized the refund on such and such date..... after that it's up to your bank to give the credit refund to your account. Your beef for any delays of processing the refund will be with the bank... not Carnival. ;)

  9. All I can say now is that your term "Gratuity Education" is nothing but a twisted version of "Solicitation" that you feel is acceptable. I personally have travelled around the world and am very familiar with tipping guidelines, and do not need your lessons of how to, who to and when to tip.

I have been to Niagra Falls on numerous occasions on both the US and Canadian side.....Taken many tours from different operators....NEVER been approached for a tip via your "Gratuity Education" methods.

You sir are a joke in the tour industry, and I would hope that you get reprimanded for your actions by your company followed by dismissal if continuing your panhandeling afterwards.....You sir give a bad name to those tour operators who are provided a Gratuity for their services w/out "Begging" for them !

  10. On a HAL sailing years ago, the seas were rough and the gangway ramp that is attached to the ship and tender broke free of the ship while a passengers was trying to board the tender... they fell inbetween the ship and the ganyway ramp into the ocean.... two crew members dove into the water w/ life preservers and rescued the passenger. Never heard what happened afterwards regarding passenger injury (other than rampid rumors, i.e. law suit, broken arm, required stitches, among the many other stories that could not be verified), but we saw it happen while on our balcony.... it was very scary.
