  1. The rep was in the baggage area along with the driver - she was holding a sign with our name on it. The morning transfers aren't as early as we like to get to the ship (only negative for us). We like to be one of the first groups to board, but transfers usually board around 1:00 or maybe a little after that.

  2. We did the hotel transfer package in April and so glad we did. A Princess rep and our driver were waiting for us as we got down to baggage after our flight to Houston. We were the only ones on this transfer. Rep made sure all was fine and driver drove us in van to the Four Seasons Hotel. Loved this hotel and highly recommend it - great staff, clean and beautiful.

Princess rep always available at hotel for any questions and hotel staff helpful for any ideas on where to eat and what to do. We didn't arrive until later in the day so just had dinner at a local Mexican restaurant (very good) and walked to the nearby store - can't remember the name, but it is like a giant Whole Foods with a restaurant and bar. We bought a take out breakfast from there next morning and brought it back to hotel.

There were about 40+ using the transfer from hotel to ship and we took a big bus to ship. We thought it was worth it in Houston since it is not easy/close like Ft Lauderdale.

  3. We just completed the last cruise on the Caribbean Princess before drydock and really loved our breakfast in Sabatinis each morning. Since we're elite this perk and the extra mini bar are the only extras for the suite (of course, we like the extra space too).

My husband wanted oatmeal several mornings (not on menu) and they got that for him, they also had our juice ready for us (a mix of orange and cranberry - not on the menu like that). Loved that the speciality coffees were included and mimosas if you like. We exchanged one of our mini bars for two coffee cards and never even used them this cruise (saved for the next one).

We mostly skipped lunch each day since this breakfast was more than we usually eat (but I still gained weight):D I can't compare to past cruises since this was our first time in a suite.

  4. Yes, it's subjective, but can make a real difference not only dietary requirements, but Culinary demo, Wine tasting, Chef's table, M&G. Personality counts here for us, & one man's meat can be another's poison!!! We use TD so perhaps notice their presence or absence more!

Wondering where Jose Florencio & Generoso Mazzone are sailing.

    Thanks in advance for info.

Mr & Mrs Neptune Seas wish you all smooth sailing & your favourite Maitre D' !

Jose and Generoso are my two favorites.

  5. Please note that is about $9/minute plus taxes.

This is the number for all ships so the caller will need to know the name of the ship, the passenger name, and the cabin number.

If you will be using Internet on the ship, an e-mail may be the best way to contact you in an emergency.

I agree that email would be the best since the phone number and call does not get to the person on the ship. We were on the Ruby transatlantic in fall of 2009 and my mom passed away just as we started crossing back to US. The family and our travel agent called the number - were both charged and we never got any messages. You have to leave a message on that number - no real person. My family finally reached us by the international cell phone we brought with us.
