  1. Thanks for the tips Maverick!! Having never been to Bermuda, we have no idea what to expect, but we like that the ship stays in port for a couple of days. This gives us a chance to explore Bermuda at our own pace.

Anytime!! Enjoy every moment there. It became my favorite port, but it goes by fast. If you remember, post some pics of the Divina in port.

  2. Divina will dock in Bermuda, as far as the casinos being open, I'm not sure. We'll be on Divina's April 11th 2015 voyage to Bermuda so I guess I'll find out then:D

First let me say you will love this cruise. I took MSC to Bermuda a few years ago. The ship docks in Bermuda and you can come and go as you please. The casinos are not open while in port. Bermuda is a nice, clean island but they close up early. Thankfully there were some cool bars at the docks that stayed open later.

Just FYI depending on the weather is can be cool in Bermuda and the water is colder than a Florida boy is use too :D. Hope this helps.

  3. We were just off the Nieuw Amsterdam and had an okay experience. My 2 year old daughter picked up a pill that was left on the floor in our stateroom by the previous guests. The pill exploded all over her. Holland America didn't seem too concerned.

I based MSC off of American based cruise and didn't give it a fair shake. After a few days on HAL my wife and I were wishing were back on the Poesia. The MSC staff treated my daughter like a princess, not so much on HAL. I think we are going back to try MSC Divina in Nov on their 10 day cruise. We are comparing prices to Princess and we did really enjoy the Princess line too. From what I hear the Divina is the most beautiful ship on the sea.

Thank you for the positive review.

  4. Wow Copper 10-8, that was incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the history of the Westerdam II. I cannot believe she is still in service. I am tempted to sail her again just for giggles. Our cruise was on her was incredible and to this day I will never forget “Ajus" who provided the best service we’ve experience thus far on the sea. Thank you again for the trip down memory lane!!

  5. My first ship was the Holland America Westerdam 1988 - 2003. I was 13 years old when my grandparents and parents took me on this fine vessel. Since then, Holland America has won a top spot in my heart. I have yet to find service matching Holland America's. It has been a while, but does Holland America still present their Dutch chocolate buffet?
