  1. Hello - We will be sailing out of Galveston next month. After the cruise we have a late flight (9:45pm) out of Houston. We're thinking of Uber-ing from the port to NASA. The website says they store luggage, taking the tour, and then Uber-ing to the airport. Anyone done this? Anyone stored luggage there and have experience? Thanks for input!

  2. Congrats! In 12 Carnival cruises I have never received an upgrade call either. We're sailing on the Glory next month & I'm in a similar situation. Booked an inside hoping to upgrade, cruise sold out. Can I ask if you answered when they called or did they leave a message? I'm afraid I'll miss the call and if they don't leave a message I'll never know! Have fun!

  3. I'm hoping someone with recent experience will be able to answer. We haven't cruised since the recent change on the policy of bringing bottled water or soda onboard at embarkation. In the past while in port we have purchased bottled water & brought in onboard with no problems, but we were wondering #1)with the new policy do they still allow that and #2) do they allow you to bring soda (bottled or cans). My question is WHILE IN PORT (not during embarkation). Anyone done this lately? Thanks so much.

  4. Do you have any pictures that you can share? DM and I are traveling together so if you or any in your party have pics with the beds configured separately, that would be exciting to see

I guess I don't have any, which is strange. I've gone through all my pictures & don't see any. Sorry.

  5. Would like to bump this back up to the top. We are also flying into Miami airport the morning of the cruise. Cruise line is not offing excursions, so would like to see if there is a company that would pick up at the airport - tour (City or Everglades) - and return to Port of Miami. I found Miami Jet Tours who may do something like this, but it's a little unclear. Thanks.

  6. Thanks so much. I really do appreciate the advice, and area whole heartedly. I will not worry about the rum distillery, as it wasn't top on my list anyway. I will just do the town and beach and be satisfied. One more question. Do you have any recommendations for a good place to have lunch? Would like French or Caribbean food, or are there many good places and we should just pick something walking around? Thanks again!

  7. Portmaster: I hope you're still out there.

We were thinking of taking the ferry to Pointe du Bout and walking around, eating and going to Anse Mitan for a bit. However, I would really like to take in a Rum distillery if time permits. What is the best way to do that. We won't have a car, we'll be walking and it looks like it might have to be near Fort-de-France? We'll be in port from 9am-6pm. Is this do-able?
