  1. We did the Palo brunch for the first time a few months ago and it was amazing!  Totally worth the $45 to us!  Loved the food and the lasagna was the best lasagna i have ever had!

Retired in May...by the end of this May I will have spent about 5 months traveling over the last year.--solo, with Dh, with BFF. Mostly cruises.

We did carry On & personal item each for 7 day AK cruise & 3 nights pre/post cruise. It was truly freeing & I now know that I can do it anywhere should I need to or want to. We usually fly SWA domestically so I can be lazy about that.

#1--Capsule wardrobe. Resists wrinkles, packs small, hand washable.

All tops go with all bottoms. Black wrap no matter season.

Travel Fashion Girl (You Tube, FB & blog) has been fantastic helping me do this.

Shoes: walking shoe, "dress" shoe & one other depending on travel needs (boot or sandal typically)

Away Bigger carry on usually but bought a TravelPro maxlite 5 for upcoming Europe trip as I am solo & will need to navigate trains & such.

#2--Backpack holds ipad, all cords (tucked in a cosmetic pouch), meds (lovely little container easily holds all my prescription meds plus ibuprofen/tylenol, picutred below), jewelry (compact container pictured below; or little draw string bags when I need to go lighter), extra glasses, snacks

#3--Small light crossbody bag to carry my phone, cruise card, lip balm

#4--bag of cold meds/cough drops---this is a new addition since COVID, JUST in case

Found hooks/over door organizer made room look messy to me. I always find plenty of room for everything (I have hanging toiletry bag for bathroom; once on the ship I move all my makeup into my liquids bag & keep it in the drawer at the desk with a mirror in the room.

Plenty of sunscreen essential if warm weather cruising.

Alarm clock & flashlight? Both on my phone.

Many cruise ships do not have plugs by the phone.

    2 ESSENTIALS:

1--exterior phone charger. I use this to charge my phone by the bed then recharge the charger during the day

2--EU travel adapter. I originally had a regular one but realized it took up one of the plugs in the room! This one goes into the round EU plug leaving the others free. Esssential when traveling with others, especially in older ships. (pictured below)

I try only to bring things I KNOW I will wear or use; I can buy anything else.

Do you have a link for the little pill things in the above picture?

Yes I found it and the story keeps growing.

Now they have to round up all the Grand folks from Mexico trip or things will spread fast.

I don’t think the will round us up at this point.  We are past the 14 day incubation period.  We have already been contacted by Princess and by our county health departments on what to do if we have symptoms.

Now if only they could find a way to add a few sugar-free flavor syrups so they could make....let's say.....a sugar-free vanilla latte. Cannot figure out why they can't stock 1 or 2 sugar-free syrups.

Right?  On our last cruise my sister bought a small bottle of sugar free vanilla and added it to her lattes!

The waiters have large pots of tea already prepared, but you can also ask for something else. Darjeeling, English breakfast, chamomile, lemon herbal, and peppermint are the ones I remember. I drink only decaf teas, so I usually order a pot of chamomile.

Thank you for letting me know that!!

  6. I loved the afternoon tea on the Grand!  The only thing I wish they would change is I wish they would add the option of different teas.  That's one of the things I love about tea houses is trying new flavors.  But the food and service are great and it is "included" as my dad calls it!  LOL :)

  7. My parents did the vow renewal last July on the Grand.  My sister and I paid for it and it was the best $225 we ever spent!  The ceremony and flowers were beautiful.  We had a private ceremony, I think because we had about 40 people attending, but right before their renewal three brides and grooms exited the chapel, so I assume they had a group ceremony.

The photographer was great.  He got so many great pictures.  My parents ended up buying a ton and they never said how much they paid, but did say it was a pretty penny!

  8. FYI Bingo was not $59 for one card, but one of the princes for multiple games on an electronic device.  There are lower prices.  I paid $30 for paper cards for the whole session.

On our cruise there was trivia, zumba, different arts and craft classes, wine tasting, more trivia, bingo, game shows at night, music trivia type games at night, singers in the lounges, and much more.  We had an amazing time on our 10 day cruise!!!
