  1. I'm a seasoned cruiser but am having a hard time navigating the Carnival website lately. We'll be cruising on the Legend this summer and I'm trying to come up with a list of the current restaurants and bars (and types of each) on this ship.

I've tried "googling" but am getting what seems like outdated information.

If anyone who has recently been on this ship, or knows the answer, could help me out that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!

  2. Then there is no problem with her getting onboard, and no problem with being in the bars, but not drinking. Her S&S card will be flagged to not allow alcohol purchases. There is the one venue where she can't go late at night, as another poster stated. No, DL not required onboard, but minor S&S cards are coded differently to prevent purchases.

This may depend on the ship. When we took our (then 20 and 18 year old) children on the Valor, the kids were asked to produce ID (driver's license) in both the dance club and the casino. The other kids they met on board and hung out with were also asked to produce ID.

  3. Like you, our first PVP was kind of a dud. Likewise for the "highly referred" travel agent that we tried next. He was beyond clueless. What we've noticed (in our experience) about using travel agents is that if they aren't working exclusively for Carnival (or whatever company we are trying to book a vacation through), then they don't always know how to solve our problems or get us the best deals.

But our second PVP has been fantastic. We've been booking with her for over 8 years now. She has been so great. She doesn't pester us, but keeps us informed of cruises we might be interested in and also lets us know about any special deals or promotions we might qualify for.

She remembers that I prefer to be contacted via email due to my job, and my husband prefers to be contacted via phone.

We enlisted her help in booking multiple times, and some of our cruises have been more complicated in terms of number of rooms needed, multiple families booking (and paying), upgrades, room switches, etc.

At this point we can call her and say "We want to sail around x date. We want to visit x ports. We need x amount of rooms. We have x people sailing. We want to spend around $$." and within a few hours she calls us back with options.

We're referred her to several of our friends and family members, and now she is their PVP too. I'm sure that sending extra business her way helps her out, and is one way of our saying "thank you" to her for all her great work.

  4. I wish I had grand kids on a cruise so that I could go to that! I grew up with Dr Seuss and would enjoy the fanciful green eggs and ham. "Sigh"..... To be a kid again!

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Forums mobile app

We recently attended the Dr. Seuss brunch, without kids, and it was great. There were way more adults than children in attendance! I think there were only 3 kids there, all at one table, and a few large tables just of adults.

There was bar service available, many of the adults brought their free drink coupons to use.

  5. Just a heads up to anyone who has recently paid by credit card to park at the Port of Miami.

We paid for our parking with a credit card on December 7th. This was the ONLY place we used this particular card. Today we got a call from our bank's security team that the card has been used repeatedly over the past week at various grocery stores in the Miami area, mainly at Winn-Dixie stores.

The security person we spoke with explained how thieves are able to insert "card readers" that take the information off your card and allow them to make a new card with your number and info on it. They are looking into the matter but it's likely that they will not be able to find the thief.

Luckily they are working with us and will be sending us new cards, which will take about two weeks with the holidays upon us. (grrrr) And they are opening up disputes for all the unauthorized charges, and we won't be responsible for those charges.

Anyway, if you paid via credit card, at the port of Miami, for parking around that time frame, please keep an eye on your credit card statements. We probably would not have caught this for another week or so when our statement arrived if the security team hadn't caught it and called!

  6. I read on here somewhere that 18 year olds with a high school iD showing they are still in high school can use the teen club. Does anyone have experience with this? Specifically on the Fantasy? We are on a thanksgiving cruise with my daughter who is 16 and her 18 year old cousin who is a senior in high school.

We have sailed with 18 year old high school seniors on three cruises now, and there was no issue at all with them using the teen club. Most of the time, the older teens hung out together in areas outside the club, and many 19-20 year olds too. It's hard when they are in that gap age between 18-21! Not many structured activities planned for them.

Some advice: Make sure the teen has ID on them (driver's license) to show their age if they want to be in places like the clubs or the casino. Even though it's legal for them to be in there, they do get "carded" quite a bit. And the Sign-n-Sail card wasn't considered acceptable ID. (This was our experience on the Valor out of San Juan). After having to make the trek back to their stateroom for ID a few times, my kids just made sure they had their ID with them.

  7. I received an offer for $100 for inside cabin and $100 returned on Player's Card.

Does anyone know if there is a drink card included?

We got the same offer (or I am assuming it was the same offer), but the $100 returned is as Onboard Credit.

We booked it, and then I contacted Michael Bayona to inquire about any additional perks. (I have received several offers recently, most of which included things like the Drinks on Us card, VIP boarding, Casino Cash etc)

    The response I received was:

"Thank you for contacting Global Casino Services!

Our records indicate you’ve already claimed an exciting casino offer. You have already received a complimentary cabin on this voyage. Any additional amenities will be extended to you once on board and based on your level of play.

We look forward to welcoming you on board!

So, I am pretty sure that the cabin is the extent of my perks. I'm thrilled with the free cruise! Anything additional will have to be earned based on my play while on board. I'm thinking it will wind up being nothing, because we have four port days and only two sea days. Not much time to spend in the casino!
