Hi,
Have friends Andi and Wil sailing with you.
We were on October 17-24
Midship emerald, had toilet overflow, we were in cabin, they fixed immediately.
I laughed at your IC coffee note. I thought the same thing, especially fellow early morning.

Hi....just off Star a week ago, same thing. I wish I could remember all but pulled pork, bbq beef etc, think of a smoke house type lunch menu but I don't remember ribs. We went by once but didn't partake.

Hi all,
http://rncshulak.blogspot.com/
A shipmate posted a wonderful review http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2116423
This was our 3rd SF/California Coastal. If you have any specific questions I'd be happy to answer them.

Anybody notice how far the new
Pier is from the ferry terminal.
In the past I have used the Vallejo ferry, which was close to Pier 35
Hi.....we're sailing out soon. According to Google:
For the ferry.
Pier 27 to Pier 41 is about 6th of a mile, the Ferry Building is .9
Buck Turgidson.....great character!..:D

Sorry you saw fit to quote and chastise me...honestly, i have never had a bad nights sleep on board ship. Maybe I have been lucky? Admittedly, I did sail this solo....so didn't need the middle.
The number crack was my attempt at humor...poor it was. I appologize if I offended anyone.

I was in C618, a few cabins aft of bigenna (don't know them but for some reason kept trying to enter that cabin!) Matress was great. Actually more comfortable then the Portland Hilton I'm in now.
Guess people will be happy when and if Princess gets sleep number beds./FONT]

Thanks for taking the time to post this great review. Loved the pictures, especially the sloth...:D

Hi again,
And we were in F-307 on the Golden....no smoke or stabilizer noise, so obviously lots of variables involved.

It's not a "crusing" blog but the link is to a B2B2B on Golden Alaska in September 2012. Lots of info and pics on the Window Suite if you check out the chapters.

Check out this link....if it doesn't work for you it's YouTube and search: drunks (or people) who miss the cruise ship.

I added the final day on Golden and the day in Vancouver today.
Hi Jan....am sure you'll find a great cruise for the two of you.
I forgot to mention this: We laughed like Hell when we discovered the robes in the cabin. They were they 'upgraded suite' type robes and weighed like half a ton.

PS: The chocolate covered strawberries.....don't eat them in bed!

Hi all,
I went into the blog this morning to add the daily update and noticed almost 300 hits yesterday alone. I thought something must be wrong with the counter. Ah ha....I happened to see this thread a few minutes ago. Mary.....thanks for directing folks to my blog. It's a lot nicer thinking someone other than the invisible man is reading my efforts.
We LOVED the Window Suite.

My turn for a question now. In the diagram, it looks at Star E605 and E606 are between tenders with a good view (unlike the 100% obstructed view I had as described in the above post about E601. Does anyone have a photo or description from personal experience of either E605 or E606 on the Star or any of its sister ships?
Thanks for any help.
Ellie
This is E 608 on Star.......606, next door....even better.

Let's not forget to mention the charge for the photographs.......;)
Like many others who have posted here, I too, think everything you may need is provided in the basic cruise charge. Those things that you WANT, well that's another story.

Thanks for all the great pictures......we've decided to go this category on Star in October. We got E-608, now, looking at the deck plan 606 appears to be right between tenders, ours looks like it's just in front of the bow curve. Just hoping we get some light?
will be sure to take lots of pictures, a good thread, thanks.

Hi, check out the link and view cabin 104, I think there are 3 decks with these. They are suites. We had some friends in one and yes, they do close the forward section of that balcony when the ship is at sea, it gets pretty windy.
Sapphire was designed with some forward facing balcony's. Before her first cruise they were sealed and relabeled ocean views. I heard during sea trials they had those doors open and things in the cabin were blown against the walls.

I realize the question was (and I paraphrase, dosen't that sound intellegent?) will i get a cell phone signal in the inside passage? This is another of the subjets that seems to always start a debate. Those that think it rude, not necesary, or just plain silly to take on vacation and those who see no problem with a phone, and wonder why anyone should care.
I am traveling currently and I was astonished to see the number of people who carry phones now. I have not flown in about 6 years and as soon as the word went out that electronic devices could be used upon touchdown, it seemed half the plane pulled out phones, walking through the airport I got the feeling I was the only person without one (left it at home for DW, actually it is hers). Everywhere people were talking into their palms, or hands, or just air, in several hundred years we will be a race of people with one regular looking ear and one giant ear (phone built-in).
I read an article in the local paper the other day. Summer camps, remember those, when we were kids we went out in the country and did all kinds of things for fun. Well, seems there is a small problem these days, camp owners having to deal with campers, kids, little kids, like 8 year old kids who want to be able to play their video games and watch dvd's and yes, use a cell phone.
Maybe one day we will have a ship with an area marked, "cell phone circle" or "cell phone square" I am sort of thinking they are here to stay?

When sailing with Princess we do "Anytime Dining" when sailing Celebrity, late seating. Main is just too early for us. We enjoy going to tea at 4 and sometimes the sushi is around 5. Don't like to rush to get dressed or eat while it is still bright out. Also very few kids at late seating.

not that is matters but someone mentioned Sue Grafton and the new book "P" is for..........I have gone into the other room now and it is actually "R is for Ricochet" just put it down at chapter five, it sure is nice (kinda comforting) to pick up a new book from a series that you are familiar with.

all this time on CC and I think this is my first visit here?
to add and agree with all that have said: Janet Evanovich, a couple of years ago my DW and I were both on the back patio reading, I was slugging through something about the U.S. Space Program, doing about 1 page every 5 minutes, when I wasn't falling asleep. She was laughing, cackeling, chortiling and having a great time, I asked her just what was so funny and she read me something about an old lady wearing tennis shoes who had a gun and her head stuck in a casket, Since I have read all 10 books, very funny and a good read.
Also enjoy, Sue Grafton, just started "P" and I never looked at the title, too lazy to go into the other room and get it. Marcia Muller, the Sharon McCone P.I.'s, as already mentioned Carl Hiasen for wicked dark humor, and for something a little heavier, Jonathan Kellerman, not his wife.
and a series of books I don't believe I have ever seen on any book list on CC. and don't poo-poo the idea, after all the 8.1 million people who pre-ordered the last book could't all have been kids, try the "Harry Potter" series, five out now and if you have the kind of mind that can accept fantasy (some can't) these would be great on the cruise, or anywhere.

LOis..............and................I remember but catchphrase is a board game, don't think I have ever played it. Akawanda seems to think they were playing it on Mercury (not The Mercury).

We go to Crab Shack and Crown on 7 day. Last cruise (October) we split an entree at Crown so maybe Share is for us but not at the $49 p/p price.
