Thanks for the review. We are on her in April for our granddaughter's 11th birthday present from us. We have sailed on the Jewel, Pearl and Spirit to the Western Caribbean through the years, but this will be our first trip to the Mexican Riviera. We love the Jewel Class NCL ships.

I have not seen the commercial yet but, we discuss what we want to do and where we want to go and then I do the planning for all our vacations, cruise, RV, land, etc. We make a final decision and I do all the bookings, etc. DH shows up when I tell him and has a great time...this system works great for our household and has for the past 23 years! :)

We sailed in April of this year on the Jewel and they were served in Moderno.

I watched this on your you tube channel posting last week. It was one of the funniest fountains shows I have seen. I too don't think I could participate in performing it, I would always duck! It took a couple of times watching the show during of our cruises and on different you tube channels to get to where I now don't gag watching a perfomance. lol

Thanks tea4lar and Starry Eyes. It just seemed to a little early for me too and I kept thinking "what if". I changed it to a 1:55 PM flight coming home. I feel much more comfortable with that time.

I have used super shuttles in Baltimore, MD, but never in Houston.

I too am looking at using them when we get back from our cruise in April to take us to IAH from the Bayport terminal. Please come back here and let us know if you liked them or not if you end up booking with them.

Thanks. The good news is that the Bayport terminal we leave out of is closer to the airport than the Galveston port, We may be able to make it if we are in one of the first groups off the ship.

We are cruising out of Bayport in April with NCL and are flying into and out of George Bush International.

Delta is coming up with a return flight at 11:55.

I don't know if that is enough time to get off the ship and to the airport.

Seems a little early to me.

Too many, but at least we have one booked!

I believe it is 216 days util we leave Houston on the Jewel!

Jealous. We love the Pearl and her crew. We are going to give the Jewel out of Houston a try in November. Can't wait for your review, pictures and videos!

We always get insurance. You never know what can happen. My MIL just had an issue and had no insurance for the first time in all her years of cruising. They thought they were ok because they were very close to sailing when they booked. Their issue came up 30 days before sailing. She said never again will she book without insurance.

EVERYTHING was really expensive on Jamaica. I was shocked at the prices. I almost bought a book on the famous White Witch of Rose Hall' date=' but didn't in the end. The house had a very interesting story, although sad. I had also understood that you could take pictures in the surrounding gardens and was disappointed that we could not.

 

My thoughts on Jamaica are that NCL should not waste time going there. The port leaves SO much to be desired. I did not like the cost of anything there. But, now I can say I have been to Jamaica.

We went to Jamaica in March 2013 on our Pearl cruise and I felt the same was as you about the place and prices.

I also did NOT like the vendors we ran into at Dunn's River Falls at all, they were very aggressive.

I just wanted to get out of there and get back to the ship!

But I always wanted to go there and now I can say been there done that!

I would take the Dawn out of Tampa.

We have been to all those ports but Roatan and loved Costa Maya, Belize and Cozumel.

I was not a fan of Ocho Rios once we went there, sad thing is that I was excited to go prior to actually going there.

Plus I am not a fan of the mega ships.

We are doing the Jewel out of Houston in November and will be going back to Belize and Cozumel and I finally will get to Roatan.

Of course any cruise is a good cruise, right?

Just my 2 cents.

We love La Cucina or Moderno, and the Garden Buffet is my breakfast place!
