We have just returned from Istanbul, it can be a long journey to the airport, depends on the traffic.

 

We disembarked the ship at 0915am and then asked for the taxi to pick us up at 0930 hours.

They are very reliable we have used them twice before.

 

You can book them on line and ask as many questions as you want they will always reply.

You could always arrange for a pick up around 8:30 - 9:00 and for a short tour/visit somewhere before your trip to the airport so you don't have to sit around too long.

I was wondering the same thing. Have found tours leaving Central Istanbul but it states there is an hours journey to get there.

We received our personalised cruise brochure and luggage labels this morning. On the oceania online information it states that Owner's suites (and two other levels I think) receive bottles of complimentary spirits. However, in the brochure received today there is no mention of this, just that soft drinks will be replenished.

Does anyone know whether the policy has changed? And if not, is there a choice available?

Getting excited now for our first cruise on Oceania :-). A cruise guide and luggage labels arrived today, so not long now.

Due to the extortionate cost of the Oceania transportation package, we have arranged our own transfers with the hotel we have booked the night before embarkation and then to the port. However, we haven't anything booked to get from the port in Istanbul to the airport after disembarkation.

Does anyone know if it is easy to pick up a cab outside the cruise terminal? Have seen online that we could book a cab but don't know what time we would need to book it for. Our flight isn't until 1.45pm so hoping they don't throw us off the ship really early like some lines. We've previously been dumped at the airport and had a 7 hour wait with nowhere to sit, which really spoils the end of the holiday.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

We found Livorno a nice place to walk around and some lovely shops.

Many thanks for your replies. Personally we prefer to take shorter cruises in the best suites as it's our private haven to relax in peace and quiet. Looking forward to our first Oceania experience :D

Have booked with Oceania for the first time in an Owner's Suite and very excited :-). Are there any extra perks with these suites? Also, I believe there is executive club access - just wondered if this is worth a visit?
