  1. A sale can be a sale even if you don't like the price. If someone has only seen $55 for the deluxe beverage package, $50 is a sale. If you bought it for $45, you got it at a better sale price, but that doesn't make $50 NOT a sale.

Sure that is correct, by definition. But, we all know RCCL is being intentionally deceiving, no need to defend them. It's insulting their gimmicks and ploys on "sales".

  2. So, I know these sales that Royal Caribbean comes up with is brought up a lot on here because of the whole way they word things, but I haven't seen this one..

On July 3rd, my cruise drink packages were $47.00 a day/pp, that changed to a buy one get one 50% off sale that day (I took a picture of the deal, but my phone is dead, so I'll show it later). Naturally, we attempted to jump on this deal.

At normal price, the grand total is $776.00 for two people. I spoke with a royal Caribbean rep whom advised me she applied the deal and the grand total would be $776.00.... Well, HOW??

According to their customer service rep, when you purchase the package, the first person gets 25% off the package, and the second person gets 25% off the package, equaling 50% total. And the current prices make it $47.00 a day/pp. We went back and forth on how that logic makes absolutely no sense, but I lost the argument eventually.

Have you ever seen that deal and had it explained in this manner?

  3. A brand new hotel opened in downtown Hollywood, which isn't far at all from the port, it's called Circ Hotel... Stunningly gorgeous hotel and the room rates are very cheap. I would no doubt stay there from now on.

I'm sure they have port transportation, but nothing a cheap uber can't fix if not.

  4. My reply was anything but irrelevant. Like everyone on here who asks "Is this a good price?" or "Should I book onboard?", the ONLY person who can value any cruise is the person buying it.

I told the OP that there was a choice: if the price/OBC was worth it to them now, they should book. Or they can take a chance and wait to book onboard. But one person's $1500/$100OBC "great deal" is another person's $1500/$100OBC "not worth it deal".

I hope you have a wonderful day.

I agree with the other poster. If you don't like all of these threads about cost, then maybe you just shouldn't click the thread.

Its a valid question I would ask, simply because I don't know what kindve added benefits they give you if you book while on board. OP just wanted to know what benefits they would receive versus the one hes looking at online.

Maybe, your initial response pertaining to the constant threads was the unnecessary part. I don't know why people click a thread that they want to complain about. Just don't open it..

  5. It's all relative to how much you drink, if you drink during the day and drink at night, then it might be worth it. The cost for the package on my cruise currently is $50, so thats $350 for the entire week, excluding an 18% gratuity added on once purchased. Probably need to rack up approximately $60 worth of drinks a day in order to some what break even.

A beer I would say can range from $7-8, cocktails depends on what kind've cocktail you want, but they range from $8-12, some of them are higher than $12. But, your drink package will only cover the initial $12.

Sorry if my math is off, maybe someone else that responds will have a better and more educated response on the pros/cons.

  6. If you're growing tired/hate drink package questions, probably not the right thread to click!

My wife and I will be staying in a boardwalk cabin for our 7 night cruise on Allure of the Seas. Due to staying in this particular cabin, we have two complimentary refreshment drink packages (which is great). My wife does not drink, but does like soda. On the internet, I tried to purchase the deluxe drink package for myself, but it will only allow for both of us to purchase it. I was waiting on the phone just now for a rep but it was taking too long, will they let me just buy it since she already has the other package?

  7. Question about the WOW sale, when I do not apply my Crown and Anchor balcony discount, the total is $1588 with $225 of on board credit. When I apply the Crown and Anchor its $1338 with $100 on board credit. Just curious as to if this is some sort of glitch or intended to take away the additional $125 when using your CAS balcony discount? As I do not know the rules. Thanks

P.S. I will take option #2 of course cause it ends up being cheaper in the long run, if this is the intended outcome.

  8. However they contributed to the topic at hand while you chose to go off topic and just post to accuse others to be snarky, when they post on topic.

You might want to apply for a mod on the boards to get some power about the decision if a post is within the rules or not. In the meantime it´s not your job to determine what can and should be posted. If you dislike a post click the red triangle and let the mods do their job.

There are new posters all the time who have not seen previous threads so a little patience doesn't hurt as we all were new here once.

The OPs post was inquiring whether or not RC has been strictly following their new set of rules. Now you tell me how they contributed to the topic other than blowing off his question? And correct, I do not know the answer to the OPs question, but I do like to point out the ridiculousness of some people that obviously scan these forums every hour and see this question pop up every two minutes. Don't click the thread, if you don't want to read it is simply my answer to the first two posters..

I agree grapau, that's what I am saying to the first two responses in this thread.

  9. No one is forcing anyone to buy the package. You can pay per drink. RCI is just coming in line with their other major market competitors.

If 3/4 of the people in the room don't want the package, then don't buy the package. Pretty simple, really.

The OP is simply asking a question on if the new policy is actually be followed as written... Neither of you answered his question, don't know why you even posted, other than to be snarky I guess.
