  1. Hello Bev415,

That is really disappointing. Sorry to read that you will spend so much time on a coach. I hope you can enjoy the stops and what Grand Circle is able to provide in terms of hotel accommodation. I look forward to reading your posts, especially as we do not hear much about Grand Circle. If you like you could even put your posts into a separate thread which could be helpful for future cruisers of Grand Circle. You just click on the button "start a new thread", give it a title and off you go.

    Have a great trip.

We travel with Grand Circle and would really enjoy and appreciate posts on their trips! We leave Nov 8 on the Rhine and Mosel.

  2. We are Elite and booked B_B on cruises we finished 2 weeks ago. I have never transferred reservations in the past but everyone on the cruises said that I should for additional savings. However, after calling several agencies I am totally confused and worried that I may make a mistake. How do I know how to choose the right agency? I realize this forum does not allow mention of specific agencies though. Any advice is very appreciated!

  3. We just returned from the Eclipse "President's" cruise. Although we enjoyed the cruise I must agree with many of the posts about the loud music. At a few of the evening shows I wanted to plug my ears to reduce the volume! We are Elite and compared our former experience to our latest cruise. The variety and overall quality of the shows has decreased but still entertaining. We found Aqua's Blu dining to be disappointing. The noise level made conversation challenging and the servers were assigned too many tables and although they tried their best they were unable to give the service we've had on previous cruises. A few nights due to the poor menu selections in Blu we chose to eat in the MDR where, believe it or not, was less noisy and the service more prompt. We've booked Aqua for our next 2 cruises but may have to rethink if the extra cost is worth it! With all these complaints we will still choose Celebrity in the future.

  4. We also will arrive in BA the morning of Jan. 1. I figure by the time we get to our hotel (Etoile), which faces the cemetery, we can leisurely walk around and get lunch and dinner. Are any of the museums open? Were you able to exchange money anyplace? I heard if you pay in a restaurant in dollars they will give you change in pesos? Is that right? How long did it take you to walk from the cemetery to the restaurant near the sail boats? Sorry for all the questions......and thank you for sharing your wisdom!

  5. I sent you a rather long reply to your web site but want to also reply on this forum. I can't tell you how much your report has influenced our decision to take this trip in Jan. 3, 16. We almost cancelled and now are happily looking forward to it. Yes, please do include all your tour operators. Even though you didn't go to Iguazu do you have any info on it? Again and again....thank you so much!

  6. I am able to associate with your experience having become ill on two separate trips, Israel and Paris. We travel a lot and when we leave are in perfect health but even at home health emergencies can happen. However we received excellent care and treatment from our travel company, Grand Circle. In Israel I had a doctor come to the hotel and ordered a prescription. The tour director himself took my husband in a cab to a pharmacy, waited with him and brought him back to the hotel. In a couple days I was well. In Paris, after 3 days on a river cruise, I became ill and spent 8 days in a hospital and was unable to continue on the cruise. The tour director made arrangements even staying up one night till midnight to make sure transportation back home was in place. Grand Circle is a smaller company but we travel with them with confidence and have always been satisfied with their cruises and tours. Yes, we are elite with Celebrity and enjoy their cruises also however I will certainly think twice before I book again to a underdeveloped country. Another suggestion is in the event of illness keep detailed notes and lists of expenses. You'll need them for insurance.

  7. Having been to Cuba in 1959 and 2005 I only spent time in Havana. These photos make me want to go back and see the rest of Cuba. Wow....what beauty!

  8. Can't tell you how much help you and others are being in helping us make plans to visit the Falls. Please continue with suggestions. I don't have any firm plans yet except I really want to visit the Falls! I know the Brazil side has the best views but I wonder if it is worth the extra expense of getting visas, etc.

    Thanks again......Joanne

  9. Hi Terry,

Sorry that I was not more clear. To see what is offered on the 4 day tour you must go to

Viator.com and search under Sydney tours. I used that company in Paris for several tours and was very pleased. They offer a 5% discount if 3 tours are booked at the same time with a phone rep. I was wondering what you thought of their itinerary compared to the Celebrity shore excursions. The Viator package gives free time to do independent activities also. You have my attention to plan to go to Barrier Reef and Kangaroo Island! Warning..this may mean a bunch more questions for you! :)

    Many thanks..........
