So RCCL does not publish exactly when reservations open? Just random? I am so used to timing reservations to the minute on DCL that this is making me nervous.

Hi Jim! When I saw "Spaniel Lover" on a cruise board, I knew it must be you! Lol.
Great video! We are doing Alaska next summer. Do you have a review on your website?

I took a photography class before my first Alaska cruise. I had already bought a new camera and wanted to learn more about capturing great shots. I found it very informative and there were several others in the class for the same reason -- going on a fantastic vacation and wanting to know how to take the best pictures. The class was only one evening but worth every second.
Great advise. Thousands of dollars worth of equipment will not guarantee good photos.

I love to decorate my doors! Don't buy from eBay though. You can do your own.

We will be sailing on the 'Mary Day' in 5 weeks. I'll be sure to give a report!

Reason I'm posting this here is because while onboard, we learned that Island Windjammers was in discussions to buy Arabella. Now that would be something to really celebrate.....fingers crossed and praying to the gods of the sea for this to be!

That would be great! I am still holding out hope to sail Arabella. We would have done Diamante, but could never find an easy way to get to Granada.

We just 'discovered' Arabella last summer while in Newport. We were soooo looking forward to booking just about now.
Thank you all for posting the news. I knew several things had disappeared from the website and thought something might be up. So sad!
Disney versus Royal Caribbean for Alaska Trip?
in Alaska
Posted
I live and die for Disney cruises. We have done 9 both with and without kids.
That being said, we chose RCCL for our first Alaska cruise. The three big factors:
1. We wanted to do a northbound or southbound so we could visit some of interior Alaska.
2. It's not about the ship in this case. We love the Disney ships and have even been known to skip Caribbean ports and just stay on the ship and enjoy. We plan to spend a lot of time in Alaskan ports, and are kind of looking at the ship as a place to sleep.
3. Price- based on #1 & #2, the difference in price was not worth it.
Of course, it is different for everyone. So, RCCL now has the chance to win us over. (Something Carnival did not do when we took their cruised based strictly for the itinerary). We'll see how it goes in a few weeks.
