  1. Irene & Stan: Congratulations on your upgrade also. Except for the last 6 years, we lived in Mackay and have a son in Townsville working at Ergon Energy.

Our email says that there is still a cover charge for the Specialty Restaurants for us - how is it now free for you:confused:?

    Brian

All the paper work we have recieved states spec resturants drinks spa treatment etc. The Genie has been in touch to ask whatever we want. Have paperwork for special boarding so hope it is all in order. Is your cabin Star Class as that is what ours is. Don't know what the difference is with the 3 tiers of suites???Soon find out wont we!!! REgards Irene and Stan we have been here since 2000 lived in Byron for 25yrs and before all that northern beaches of Sydney where we went after arriving Australia 1966 now you know all about us ha ha

  2. After 33 cruises we've been upgraded from a balcony cabin to a Superior Grand Suite on our Ovation of the Seas cruise next week:D. Can anyone answer the following questions:-

    1. What's the exclusive suite restaurant, Coastal Kitchen on deck 14 like?

    2. Is the Concierge Club on deck 12 aft, the same as the Concierge Lounge? Do they enforce the rule of consuming beverages in the lounge only?

    3. Does the new room service charge apply to suites?

    4. Can hors d'oeuves be ordered to the suite in the afternoon?

Thanks very much - so excited!

Hi we got upgraded to Grand Loft Suite too on Nov 23rd cruise. Looking forward to all the wonderful extras. As regards CK did that last Feb on Ovation and very very nice. As the spec resturants are now free for us try Wonderland if you haven't done it before a great experience. We think we will do Chefs table as done that before and it is good we do have to pay for the drinks.See you soon Irene and Stan

  3. We have AT&T and our kids have Verizon. Both offer "wifi calling." It's a setting in your phone, it's free. All you have to do is turn it on in your phone. We have an Iphone, but I understand that Androids also have the function. It's a "wonderful thing." If your phone is connected to the internet, you can place it in "airplane" mode, turn on your wifi, and it will bias to "wifi calling." It will also do this if the wifi signal is stronger than a cell signal, but to guarantee it, put it in "airplane" mode. You can tell it's on "wifi calling" if you look at where the carrier is noted, upper left on an Iphone, and if it says "ATTwifi" or "VZWwifi" you are on "wifi calling" and not on the cell towers. We used it on our Oasis cruise a few weeks ago as we were all in suites that included free VOOM per person. It works FANTASTIC! You can make calls, send texts, etc. for free to a domestic number. The number you call doesn't need to be in the U.S., it only has to be a domestic number. We used it all week on board to keep in touch. If you go ashore and log into a wifi you can again use it. It works anywhere when your phone is on wifi. I have used it throughout Europe as well as the Caribbean, and on 3 cruises this year. One in Norway, one in the Baltics, and on our last Oasis cruise. Check it out. Full service for price of the internet, and you still have full internet.

Thanks for so much info going to try on Ovation Nov 23rd. However, didn't know what is meant by Domestic No.? We are from Australia and will be getting free internet while on board. Regards

  4. We were in a Sky Loft Suite with Star Class Service on Ovation last November, and all of the Specialty Restaurants were included free of charge, with the only exception being a $25 per person charge for the wine pairing at the Chef's Table.

Our Genie Wendy was phenomenal, and we were truly spoiled while on Ovation!!! We will definitely miss that level of service on future cruises.

Thank all for replies does seem we are to get lots of perks so looking forward to it all as maybe our last cruise due to age!!! shame eh?

  5. Don’t worry about anything! Just tell your Genie which restaurant you want to eat, when and time. You can eat anything you want including the surcharge items (they are all included), even Chef’s Table. You can reserve any show you want and you will have “front row” seats. The Genie will arrange a bridge tour for you on a sea day.

Unfortunately, the OTW cabanas were damaged during hurricane Irma and they might not be repaired by then. But the hill top cabanas are available and your Genie will be able to get you one.

We are on Ovation In Grand Loft Suite do the same genie terms apply as you have stated. Told but not From RCI we have all specialty resturants Chefs table etc are included. I really don't think all these things are included but will see once on board.

Any Information before Genie is in touch would be good.

  6. Guarantees are not available in every category and/or sailing.

Bob with all your knowledge hope you can help us. We have been given a Grand Loft suite on Ovation. We are elderly but still very able. Wonder if being very rear of ship will be a worry and the stairs in suite be a problem for us. It is such a wonderful suite and hope all will be O.K> just a wee bit worried. Many thanks for your reply Irene and Stan

  7. I sail on Oasis in 8 days and Coastal Kitchen never appeared on my list of restaurants to book (we're in a GS). In fact, I didn't know this should have been an option until I read this thread.

Guess I'll talk to the concierge if we find we'd like to eat dinner there. I know we'll be doing breakfast and possibly lunch there on port days.

We are now in a family Junior suite and don't know if we can use Coastal Kitchen?? Did in Feb but then in a grand suite. Any help or answers thank you Irene and Stan

  8. Hi,

We are going to spend a couple weeks on Ovation in April and one of the dining options is Wonderland. I will probably get few responses from passengers that have gone on Ovation but I bet there are many of you who have gone to Wonderland on other ships and are ready to tell me you experience.

So ok Alice, good, bad or ugly what did you think of Wonderland? Food, service, atmosphere, anything you want to share. Pictures would be great too. :D

we did wonderland on ovation last feb. It is an amazing experience don't miss doing it. We are on Ovation now in Nov will we do it again hope so. Regards Irene and Stan

  9. I said "might" be the reason. There are obviously times when cabins such as suites are completely booked, so that being the case, a person in a balcony could not possibly be upgraded to a suite. It's just a hypothesis. I've seen them raffle off ( in bingo) empty suites as well.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Booked a balcony and just upgraded to Royal Family suite on Ovation yes first after many cruises but very very happy.

  10. do you have any ifo regarding adding an extra guest to your booking. WE now h ave a family suite and wish to add my sister have had a quote but unsure what happens to set and sail. Only 9 days before sailing and having trouble with RCI Many thanks if you can help!!
