I have heard or read nothing about Americandiplomats being attacked in Cuba. What is your source for this information?

We are on the Carnival Sunshine sailing August 17. None of Carniival excursions for San Juan appear particularly appealing. Can anyone recommend private alternatives? Or are there tour operators with booths on the pier?
-
Thank you for your responses. My wife was worried that this ticket process would cause us long waits for dinner. That does not seem to be the case.
-
Is there a wait to obtain the ticket?
-
If it has any relevance, our cruise is August 17.
-
We are booked on the Sunshine with "Any time dining". I understand that we have to obtain a ticket and beeper on level 5. How long should we have to wait to obtain a table? We are willing to sit with others, or by ourselves - whichever would be faster.

Does the Sunshine now have the new American Table Menu? And if so. How does it differ from the old menus?

NCL doesn't have Freestyle machines either, they use Pepsi products. But they give you a cup/container. Does Carnival?
-
No cup unless you buy one and you still have to go to the bar and get a sticker. Only real plus is having it already paid for.
Are you saying that you have to pay extra for the cup? It has been free on every other cruiseline

My wife and I wish to purchase the soda plan - Bottomless Bubbles when we sail on the Sunshine in August. I see that it can be ordered online. In the past on NCL we just purchased it when we got aboard. Which is more convenient? And do they give you a cup/container?

Can the Serenity areas on the Sunshine be reached by elevator? My wife has difficulty with steps

I realized before we were served that the waitress did not ask how we wanted it cooked. Mine was a little bit more rare than I would have liked, but very good.
We had an 8:30PM show, so ate in O Sheehans during the late afternoon. The meatloaf and chicken pot pie are delicious.
The show was great. We got there a half hour early and got seats at the front of the table.

My wife and I were offered a bridge tour on the Star M&G, but not the Gem.

Can the NCL gift card be used for the daily service charge?

I just booked my free cruise, totally legit, given to me by the Tropicana. Additionally, my parents get offers directly from NCL Casino at Sea program all the time. Also legit. Of course nothing is free, taxes and port charges apply. My parents get a balcony or better room comped to them, because that is the type of room they have always booked when paying out of pocket. Since I was comped by the Tropicana they had no cruise history on us so our comp was for an inside, we upgraded. To upgrade from an inside to an outside was $75 per person, to upgrade from the ou to a balcony was an additional $200 per person...ugh....I thought this was steep because when booking through NCL, there was a $75 difference in price between the outside and balcomny rooms for the cruise we were looking to book. Nonetheless, we bucked up. It was still a great deal. We paid about $1,000 out of pocket for a 7 night cruise on the Jewel for the two of us in March, we have a balcomy room and that includes everything. I also believe that booking through Casino at Seas entitles us to a free drink card which is good in the casino.
Good Luck!
We also just booked a free cruise from the Tropicana in AC. But this did not just involve a postcard in the mail. We had to go to the Tropicana to pick up our Casinos at Sea certificate, and we were offered a limited number of cruises. Still a good deal, even with the port charges and taxes,
NCL Sky to Cuba- reportedly a go!
