  1. I can confirm with 100% certainty that the glass bottles of San Pellegrino are included with cheers ONLY during dinner in the MDR at no additional charge. They are discounted during brunch and breakfast, but not included. You can get small cans of pellegrino from the coffee shop included as well (anytime).

Awesome, thank you. I just found another thread asking the question. I had done a search earlier but spelled it wrong :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

  2. That is good to hear. I am worried about the lower deck and possible sea sickness, especially on the older ship. Was it stable, or could you really feel movement? I am good, but my daughter who has never cruised is who I am worried about. I bought dramamine for her, hope she doesn't need it!

Lower decks are actually better for people who suffer from sea sickness. The lower the deck, the less movement you feel.

  3. First, I want to commend Carnival for trying to do something environmentally friendly. However, this is something they clearly didn't think through.

Let me ask you, the last time you ordered a drink from a Carnival bar do you know how many sail and sign cards the bartender handled since he last sanitized his hands? Now if just one of those passengers had a norovirus infection the every glass the bartenders touches potentially an infection point. That is how the norovirus spreads and its a big issue for cruise lines.

I know I will still be able to request a plastic straw and I will always do so, but its the other passengers I am worried about. The more infections you have the easier is in to spreed in highly confined spaces.

How many news headline have you seen over the years were a large numbers passengers getting sick.

We just has one two months ago.

    http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2018/02/09/royal-caribbean-cruise-arrives-in-san-diego-after-24-people-sickened-with-gastrointestinal-virus.html

Please help me in letting Carnival know this is a very bad idea.

So... let me get this straight. ... you think that if the bartender handles a S&S card of someone who has NoroVirus then touches your glass, your going to get the virus...

A bartender never touches the lip of the glass. So, you must be afraid of getting it from the outside of the glass. With or without a straw, you are still going to be touching the same glass as the bartender unless you just have the waiter put in on the table and you lean forward to sip out of the straw.

... BUT WAIT ... the bartender or waitress touched the S&S card of someone who has NoroVirus, then touched your S&S card ... you're definitely gonna get the virus.

I mean, think of it.. they touch thousands of cards a day ... everyone is gonna be such because Carnival is only giving straws if you ask.

  4. I dont see anything wrong with the game. Your child isn't the only one on the ship and if you don't like the content of the game, don't let the kid play. There are many other people who enjoy blasting the crap out of zombies... who are you to ruin their fun.

I grew up on a farm in the country, over a mile from any neighbors, back in the 70's/80's. Being aroung guns and learning to shoot was just a part of life. My parents tought us gun safety and how to shoot from the time we could walk. I owned my own BBQ gun by the time I started Kindergarten and could accurately shoot porcupines out of trees with my dad's riffle by the time I was 9 (even though it knocked me on my ass almost every time). ... and guess what... I was beat up and bullied all through school. One of the bullies even shoved me into the street in front of a moving car when I was in high school. I had full access to a bunch of hunting rifles and never shot anyone because I was taught to respect the gun and the damage that could be done by someone using it. Taking away guns and games with guns doesn't have any impact on the number of mass shootings. Teach kids to respect themselves and others. Teach them the difference between fantasy and reality and don't use TV and video games as babysitters.

  6. If you drink a lot of soda, it's worth it to get the bottomless bubbles. Service in the dining room shouldn't take long to get a soda. But if memory serves me correctly it takes the same amount of time to get a soda on lido deck as it did for the alcoholic drinks ... but we were ordering both at the same time.
