  1. Here's a view of the side of the ship looking down from Baja deck. Dolphin deck is the lowest with Caribe above it. (Ignore the ashtrays; I'm going to have to photoshop them out.)

Love the picture Pam!! That really shows this and is also a good way of showing all the folks who ask questions about how the balconies hang over.

In any case, to see the lifeboats below you, you'd literally have to look over the railing back towards the ship. There's no obstruction straight down.

  2. Hello out there! I am new to Cruise Critic, so please be patient.

How do you register to attend the On Board Cruise Critic Party for each individual sailing? Is there a gathering on every cruise? Thanks!

That depends - if you're on Royal Caribbean, they have a deal with Cruise Critic where a "meet and mingle" is set up. Go to your roll call (under Royal Caribbean Roll Calls on the forum) and you'll see a link somwhere for joining your meet and mingle. You'll need to type in booking information and then you'll be registered.

If you're not on Royal Caribbean, there is no "formal" gathering through Cruise Critic per se. Often, meeting times and places will be established by friends on your roll call. Inquire again if you cannot access your roll call with more specific booking information!

  3. just wanted to get an update and find out if they are opening the balcony dividers on FOS? we have three E1 cabins and hoping they will. TIA. :)

When I went the answer was a STRICT NO and I've heard the policy has basically remained intact, with few exceptions. It's for fire safety purposes as open doors mean fires spread much more quickly down balconies. Try your luck by asking your stateroom attendant your first day, who will probably you they no longer cannot do it. Anyone - correct me if I'm wrong...!
