  1. For what it means from someone who normally likes very nice places ... the absolute beauty and the way the Caribbean use to be and still is at Brewer's is so worth it.

Things are a bit rustic at Brewer's but not awful. ;)

I'm really liking the idea of visiting here for the first time

    I've NEVER been

There will be 2 of us

There is a write up to the primitive facilities there. And I'm confused by it because nothing is really written SPECIFIC as to this...besides "a toilet"

Running water? Take my own toilet paper?? Not trying to be funny. being serious.

Just want to know how and what to take as "extras" being there for the day

    TY

  2. I used him a couple years ago.

But, I dont see much about him on the boards lately.

I do see many other tours these days and guides.

    I thought he was awesome.

    Anyone else used him lately???

I'm headed that way and want to use him again if he's still recommended.

    Thanks.

  3. I am hoping someone can tell me the time the ship wants us back on board when in Grand Cayman. We want to book an excursion with Nativeways that returns at 2:45. We are scheduled to be in port until 4:00, but I know they usually require you to be on board at least 1/2 hour or more prior to that. Last time we were in Cayman the lines for tendering were crazy. I am nervous with so little time to spare should there be a hold up along the way. Has anyone taken the Nativeways excursion Stingrays, Coral Gardens & Starfish that leaves at 11:30?

I still have the visual of half of a family - all in bathing suits and swinging towels - being left on the dock in Cozumel as we slowly sailed away with everyone on board and on the dock screaming. They missed the boat by seconds!! I never want to be there!!

I would appreciate any information for those of you who have recently sailed to to Cayman regarding the on-board time. Thanks!

    Barbara

You want to have a great time and NOT rush, then book a 1/2 day with MobyDick tours. They are perfect and amazing. The early tour, 9 am, will let you have an amazing time with snorkeling and stingray city and get you back in time with no problems.

Done it 3 times with them.

  4. In his opinion it was inedible. Maybe it just wasn't prepared the way he's used to.

If it was so bad...why did he continue to order it? There had to be other options other than meat.

I"d go into all the "people trying to keep kosher in a non-kosher environment" I've had over the years....but it's way off topic. :)

In my book, in edible IS IN FACT in edible.

  5. You get the vouchers by going to the casino bar. There will be a sign that says pre-paid vouchers. Take your room card. They will look you up by name, give you your vouchers and have you sign for them.

If you get a wine package, tell your waiter in the dining room when you arrive the first evening. He/she will tell the appropriate person who will bring those vouchers to you.

When you use your vouchers, you still need to present your room card. You will get a receipt showing $0 and the drinks will show up on your bill as a $0 charge.

And where again, may they be used? (The vouchers)

Just hand over a voucher and that's it??

Any place you can't use them?

  6. Yes, we're curious to the question above as we bring our snorkel gear everywhere we go.

    AND

Does any one have some updated information on Maho beach?

    Condition? Still active? Busy??

(Reason for Maho Q is someone posted its in rough shape/seaweed/nor there since last storm rolled thru there) Were planning to go there in Oct.

    Thanks.

  7. buy one drink package for the 2 of you bef. you sail at $72. That's 12 drinks, so you each can have a drink for 6 nights.

Ok. Here's my Q about this package....

We're thinking that a couple of the 15 voucher packages may be the way to go for us.

We know that whatever you buy for yourself, all in cabin must purchase also.

    So....

We want 3 of the 15 voucher drink packages. There only two of us.

Is that possible or if one occupant buys 2 of the 15 voucher packages, so must the other??? (Making it 4 instead of 3)

    Thanks.

  8. Location location location, no way I will book a gyt.

True. The location location location will be on the ship.

    Good point.

All those posts that you have racked up I see, are to tell someone else that a gty is NOT ok?? I don't think that's fair.

As I can read here, others have found gty to work out just fine.

Not hate my friend, but I feel experienced as well to say to the fine cruiser worried that it will be OK!!!

  9. A standard balcony cabin 192 sq ft ( living space 168 sq ft; bathroom 24 sq ft) balcony 42 sq ft.

PS I see you like skiing; ever tried it on a plastic (dendix) artificial slope?

I'm a qualified instructor and teach at my local slope

Could you point out 10137 like that which you did above??

Very cool. Thanks for posting things like that.

  10. We are booked for Sept 27, 2014 Divina with a Bingo Balcony booking. Anyone have any experience with this? When did you receive your cabin assignment?

We, like many of you, booked the guarantee option. And I always have when they offered it and has NEVER come out bad.

MSC was no different. In fact, my first reservation for our Oct 4th sailing was a B1. Then we talked about it.... Called back and adjusted my reservation and went for the guarantee balcony. Paid in full. And received a B2 the next week.

Hell yeah is what I say!!!!!!

  11. I have been looking at all the websites for parking for our cruise on the Divina tomorrow. We are driving as hotel parking is 38.00 a night..

Can anyone offer suggestions - leaving from port of Miami . What is the best parking lot with shuttles..easy access to the ship and when we return- easy access to shuttles to get our car. My husband is informed/ I need easy!

Can you tell me if porters are plentiful novel we get to the terminal ??

Oh ! I have not received any info on my boarding time... What time can you board???

Thank you so much in advance!

We used premiere parking last year and it worked out really well. On our return we had a little of a wait simply because everyone was trying to go at once and they were short a driver. Overall it was a good experience and my car was safe!!!!!! Google Premiere parking Miami cruise terminal.

  12. Ok. All you yacht clubbers...

I have a balcony and I'm satisfied with that, there is hardly a better way to cruise IMHO.

BUT, I see so many great comments on getting the YC with MSC.

    So, my questions are...

Are there only a certain number of YC rooms that are available for purchase?

Can I give up my room for one of those and pay an upgrade?

And the average cost for two in the YC is....?

    Thank U

  13. 2 hours?? You do realize that this is normal for Europeans,,and you were on a European Cruise Line. It's not bad or slow service,,it's the fact that dinners are designed to be an event, a time to interact with each other,,so time between courses can be 15-30 minutes at times.

I for one, do not hope they Americanize Divina anymore. If I wanted to sail on an American Line,,I have plenty of mass market choices,,for us,,we want something different,,we love Divina just the way she is, and there's really no need to change.

You're right Mike. Way to fight off the weary, tired opinion of someone that just got off a cruise, hasn't thought about it yet or just wants that 3night carnival booze cruise experience.

We for one do NOT want that or do we book cruises for that.

1.5-2 hr dinner is great. Give me the early. Enjoy my dinner and get ready for the evening with drinks and shows. Relaxing too!!!

  14. They are both "corner " balconies, by that i mean the are reccessed in and as such have limited fields of view, saying that they have larger than average square footage balconies.

the cabins are 192 sq. ft, I 'm not sure of the square footage of the balcony but here is an image of a standard balcony and a balcony similar to 9223/4

    Corner balcony similar to 9003/4

If you don't mind, may I throw in cabin 10137 for a quick review from you with dimensions. Just excited about it all

    Thanks
