  1. I have the same question.

    2001 - 7 nights - non-suite -

    2002 - 11 nights - non suite

    2003 - 7 nights - suite

They gave me 22 points for this.  In addition I have 29 undisputed points from after those years, so I am sitting at 51 points.  Does this seem right?  I am just not getting the "formula".

Unless something has changed recently, there are several reasons you can use, one being I prefer not to.  I bought refreshment for me online last year on allure, and then called in and bought deluxe for my wife, just saying I wasn't interested.  I did purchase 2 drunks during the week and had no issues.

    Did they behave themselves??  Haha!!

  3. They are Royal Caribbean Gift Cards, various amounts ranging from $50 to $200.  They are purchased from a gift card site.  I get a 7% rebate on them.  I then submit my gift cards to Royal Caribbean and they are applied as I send them.  No need for it to be a new booking.  I then take that 7%, turn it into cash in my paypal account, and turn around and buy another one when I accumulate enough.  Not much, but every little bit helps.

  4. OMG!  This is like watching a tennis game, back and forth, back and forth.  I sense a dead horse is still being beaten somewhere to be sure it's dead.  Geesh, certain people just HAVE to be right.

OP, sorry for your loss.  Even though I like to show off my jewelry, a cruise is not the place to do it. In fact, I have bought some very nice costume pieces that actually look better on the outfit I am wearing.

  5. I have sailed both lines many times also.  I think the buffet on Carnival is better and you will always find someplace to sit.  Sometimes on Royal I am circling and circling to find a table.  However, the main reason I have started leaning towards Royal is that Carnival has done away with their "adults only" pools.  I am by no means a snob against children, I have 3 of my own and grandchildren.  But there are times when I would like to relax and sit on the side of the pool without getting cannonballed.  I thoroughly enjoy the solarium and the calm atmosphere in that area.

  6. I have nothing against pink/rose but, IMO, the ship was very dated. It could really use some updating. I saw a lot of burned out bulbs and the decorative "balls" (or whatever they're called) were missing from the décor in many spots on the walls. But since the ship has been sold I can see why they wouldn't put the expense into it. Again, this is just my opinion. One of the reasons I chose this ship to begin with was I read so many posts about it being their favorite ship. It just wasn't mine. ;)

  7. I have been on 7 cruises so far, having just gotten off the Splendor this weekend, which was my 2nd on Carnival. She was, by far, my least favorite ship. She was showing her age all over the place, did not care for the decor of the ship at all. The shows every night were just rock 'n roll type shows, no comedian, no dance shows, very boring. Yes, I know there were comedians in the Punchliner but for the first 3 days they were the same two, just different times each night and the last 3 nights were all the same two guys. We had a balcony cabin on deck 9 and all day and every night we heard all the lobby music up until 11:45. Never was it quiet in our cabin.

And yes, according to the staff, all pools on all ships will be family. No longer are there going to be adult only pools, except on Vista and her sisters, which will be the cabana rooms, for adults only, with their own pool.
