  1. We were just there yesterday while on board the Silhouette. Had zero expectations and zero plans. We had an all aboard time of 3:30 so we did not want to venture out to far. We wound up taking the water taxi from the port ( $15/pp round trip) to Villa beach, which was fine. Remember we had low to no expectations. The beach had facilities and rentals.  The water was very calm & clear and ther was some snorkeling along the right side of the beach. The water taxi took less than 15 minutes. You could take a regular taxi for $10/pp round trip, I believe that trip would take a little longer.

  2. I was just notified that the Silhouette cruises on November 22nd, December 1st and December 13th are changing some of their ports from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami.  See the info received below.

    Dear Valued Travel Partner,

We look forward to welcoming your clients aboard Celebrity Silhouette® for our  Southern Caribbean Cruises departing from Ft. Lauderdale on November 22nd,  December 1st and December 13th 2019.  But first, we have some important information we would like you to share.

Due to a port scheduling error, the Celebrity Silhouette will now need to facilitate guest embarkation/debarkation in Miami (PortMiami,) not Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades,) on Sunday, December 1st and Friday, December 13th  Our port of embarkation, on November 22nd, in Fort Lauderdale will remain the same.

  3. Let me share what happened to me, and I will let all of you determine what it means because I sure don’t know. We we onboard the eclipse a couple of years ago and had a ton of OBC. We wanted 2 iPads but they only had 1 that had more memory than we needed. My DW had the brilliant idea to by the 1 with the extra memory and an iPad mini and we would just exchange them for the items we wanted when we returned home. We told the rep in the ilounge what our plan was and he said that we would not be able to do that. My DW is very persuasive so she decided to do it anyways. We were joking around with the rep and told him that was our final decision and he said let’s stand in front of the surveillance camera and let me go on record that you will not be able to exchange these items, which we did. When we returned home my DW went to the apple store with the unopened boxes and the receipt and she was told that these items could not be exchanged. Not sure what the explanation was but the story ends with us having an iPad with more memory than we needed and my son getting an iPad mini.

  4. Just off the eclipse, and if you are a member of the blue chip club, you will see your participation level printed on you sea pass card. If you are onyx or higher (onyx is the 2nd or 3rd lowest rating) you can sign for regular chips right at the gaming table and you will not have to pay the 5% fee.

  5. On eclipse right now.

Singers are very good, but the production shows are horrible. Best one of those we saw was the Broadvway review.

    Ventriloquist Garett was hilarious.

The 2 feature singers Savannah Smith and Lou Gazzara (American idol 2nd season) was phenomenal

Make sure you catch the liars club, the star of that show was Captain Leo.

Give Eddy a chance he is very dry but very funny smart and quick. He would appreciate it if you knew someone to fix him up with.

  6. If you book onboard and want to transfer it to a TA later, you need to make sure that you don't have the reservation assigned to your current TA because that is what they have by default. Also you only have 30 or maybe 60 days to assign it to a TA, otherwise it stays with celebrity.

  7. We cruise every year after thanksgiving and before Christmas and more often than not Chanukah will fall during that time. I have always been thankful and impressed with the job that Celebrity does helping us celebrate the holiday. FYI did you know that you can order a challah to be served at your dinner table any night of your cruise, you just need to give them 1 day notice, and the challah is excellent. I appreciate the effort celebrity makes and always mention that in our post cruise survey.
