My wife and I arrive at port on Monday at 8AM. We have a 1:00 flight out of FLL. Plan on taxi. Is this doable. Thanks.

Just got odd the Ruby and had a covered balcony mid-forward on Riviera deck. Will be on the Crown in March 2017. Looking the for decks that have covered, not partially covered balconies.

Posted this in technology section also. Normally go off the grid when cruising, this time cannot. The internet package will work the same as on land. E-mail and access to web based programs. Will phone work and should we plan on taking our laptop
Thanks

Have purchased a bus pass from Princess. In our case, we are getting to Anc the day before and leaving from their hospitality center. The first bus leaves at noon and other posters have said the trip is 1 1/2 hours. Agree with Essiesmom, like to get on the ship as soon as possible to begin the adventure.
Enjoy your cruise

GM all. My wife and I are staying at the Westmark Hotel and have a transfer (thru Princess) from their hospitality center at the convention center to Whittier, on our 18 Jul SB on the Star. Read a recent post that indicated Princess is using the train this year? The transfer instructions indicate a bus. Can anyone clarify. Thanks

With Princess allowing a drink package on individual basis may go for it as wife does not drink that much. Technical question at 8.95 a drink plus the 15% tip comes to 10.29. How does the 0.29 cents work, the price is now over the $10.00 limit. Do I pay the 0.29? Star Princess to Alaska in July.

Follow up question, we sail to Alaska in July and have exAir (flexible fare). if we pay the full price of the cruise and air fare now, will that get us the flights we have selected. We are like you do not want any changes. Thanks.
-
Thanks lo all of you. From other posts on Cruisecritic felt aft balcony would be the way to go. Glad to here that we can refuse an upgrade if offered. That way we get the aft balcony.

My wife and I are booked for an Alaska cruise in July. Have a B4 rear facing balcony but don't know which one yet. There are 6 rear facing B4 balcony's on the Star. On deck 9 and 8 two are inside with a larger balcony on the outside. The two on deck 10 are on the outside. Don't know which one we will get. Any opinions?

July 18 trip southbound on Princess Star. Not first cruise, just first Alaska one. Do we dock or tender. Skagway?, Juneau-dock, Ketchikan?
Thanks

Thanks. been on princess before, and getting straight to cabin is great. thought boarding would be around noon but did not know if Alaska was different

First time for Alaska. Embark 18 Jul from Whittier on Star Princess. It leaves at 8:30. What time do they let folks on the ship?

Did the same cruise this Jan. Took boat thru all the canals. Was great. We took extra water, snacks, chips so we snacked when we wanted- on bus on boat etc.

We were on the 11 day partial transit on the Coral on 30 Jan. They offered a drink package for $49 pp per day. It was a coupon attached to the embarkation Platter.

Short review of the trip.
Summary first: This was a bucket list trip for us and the Coral was chosen for the partial transit. It met every expectation. In other words, it was GREAT. Thank you CC for providing answers to all of our questions.
Embarkation and Disembarkation were the best we have ever experienced. Thirty minutes from the dock to our room. Two bottles of wine, a pack of soda, and chips. Off in less time.
The ship was beautiful. We had a simple balcony, deck 9 D301. Our room steward was fantastic, as were all the staff on board. Room service for coffee and a simple breakfast were always delivered at the time requested.
For those that know about the issues of noro on the previous cruise, this cruise, to our knowledge it was non existent . Great job Princess.
We had open sitting and used it about half the time. Buffet was better than we have experienced, and the MDR was very good. Made reservations easily, just make sure you do it early in the morning after you have read the Patter and know what you want to see and do.
Morning show was ok, would rate average, but enjoyable just the same.
Shows were fantastic, regardless of the one you choose.
Spent time on Lido and Wheelhouse Bar. Music was great and interaction with fellow passengers made the experience even more fun.
MUTS was a first for us, and the variety was good, it met our needs well, we read the Patter and knew what was on and when.
Just as everyone has said before, when going thru the canal, its 3-4 deep on decks 14/15, go aft on 11 and 10 and thru the doors that have a little sign below the handle that says "emergency only" and you will have a great view. On our trip, there were about 12 of us on deck 10.
Excursions are individual so won't go into those, wanted to concentrate on the ship.

Hope too see more. We are sailing on the Coral nest week. And yes, a mist in FL with short sleeve shirts is better than cold and snow.
-
We went on youtube and searched for the beaches we were interested in. You get to see it first hand. It helped us decide.
-
Thanks Pam, only looked on deck 14 not 15 where muts is clearly marked
