  1. And please check your annual policies have not run out. A relative lost the cost of their holiday when what he thought was indigestion turned out to be a heart condition that required a bypass operation. When they tried to claim they realised they had not renewed their annual policy.

  2. Ok that might explain it as I don’t sail for about 40 days. I’m just so used to other cruise websites and being able to print my own tickets as soon as I have checked in. My first time with MSc so getting used to their way of doing things. Thanks for your replies.

  3. Can somebody please help and advise on how you get your tickets? I have checked in and provided all information online and pressed the get tickets button but nothing else popped up, I have not received an email and there has been nothing in the post for over a week. Should I be worried? I am in the UK. Finding the MSc website quite difficult to use. Thanks in advance.

  4. With 8 sea nights to go to reach Elite we hope to reach it in 2018. It's been a long time coming as we are still working and DH does not get many holiday days a year. Really looking forward to the extra "perks" that come with Elite but it will not make us try and pull rank on anyone. We hope to do a Baltic cruise to get there and then, with retirement looming in a couple of years, some longer cruises to enjoy Elite.

  5. The reason I go to McDonalds by the ship is that there is a lot of pay and display parking, it's really close to the terminals and there a few super stores if you are early. I quite often go here after checking out, last time there were lots of Cunard passengers very dressed up for boarding eating sausage mcmuffins, oh how I smiled [emoji38]

  6. One must be travelling a long way to partake of breakfast on the way to Southampton, given the short travel times in merry olde England. Considering one does need to be at the dock before 12 noon.:rolleyes:Or dare I say it? Later at the given boarding time.

Aaah, I can savour the wafting aroma of the bacon from Little Chef, a fine array of healthy food lies therein.:p Sampled it a couple of times, but Little Chef's are fading away, are they not?:loudcry:

The 'Full English', I can hardly wait, lubbly jubbly and plenty more of that on board too. Done the Premier Inn brekky, very nice too.

Hi NSWP, we have heard about traffic on M25 and M3 and gridlock in Southampton so we want to be cautious and arrive early. Our boarding time is 1.30pm so plan on getting to ship about 12? We don't mind waiting around, will have our kindles [emoji4]

  7. Ok, bizarre question but hope you seasoned travellers can help. We are planning on setting out early to get to Southampton to join our ship as we have seen lots of posts about how busy the roads are, especially nearer Southampton, even on a Sunday.

If we plan to stop somewhere near the A3 or close to Southampton for breakfast can you suggest anywhere good?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. We did a 2 day tour with Alla. Early entry into Hermitage and a mini bus with 13. Much better than a whole coach load.

We went with Alla too. They were excellent. Will use them again if we book a Baltic cruise in the future.

  9. Hi-we are considering the Arcadia cruise from Southampton via Norway Iceland and Dublin next July. Has anyone done this type of cruise before? What are your thoughts on Iceland, Arcadia and will the sea up there be rough in July? Thanks

  10. It's small and basic, at best. Room for about 30 people comfortably or so - and it gets fairly crowded with the Virgin and BA flights leaving within a short time of each other. Some power outlets - although not many - and free, very slow, WiFi. Drinks are included, mostly just basic cocktails, coffee, tea and a few juices, and some snacks, ie very basic veggies with dip, finger sandwiches, crackers and cheese.... Certainly not worth $50us pp/£35 or so GBP. IMO. We've never paid for it given our FF status when we fly BA or Virgin, but wouldn't pay for it if we didn't have access. There's several better eateries upstairs in the departure lounge where you can get full meal and a few drinks for less than the cost of one person in the lounge..

I would suggest checking out the TripAdvisor forums for St Lucia with regards to the land portion of your trip, if any. TA is CruiseCritic's sister site for land based trips, flights, etc.

    Enjoy your cruise/trip....

    Thank you 😊

  11. Several years ago we were on board a Princess cruise attending the welcome party when there was a crew alert which was obviously in code. I have never seen the captain and senior officers move so fast!!

The captain returned to the party later on and told us that it had been a fire alert which came from one of the staterooms and had been caused by a passenger drying their damp clothes on a light fitting.

A lesson to us all, and good to know that their alarm systems work well.

  12. Hi

We have 2 days in Barbados in November. We want to get over to the east coast specifically to see Codrington College as this is where my husband's parents taught many years ago. We also want to make the most of the two days to see as much of Barbados as possible. Any ideas how we should do this? Would hiring a taxi be the best option? Thank you:)

  13. Hi CruiseMom

Could I have a copy of your notes also? This is really so kind of you to help us all.
