  1. We have used puddle jumpers many a time. I remember one time on the transatlantic we had a light weight umbrella stroller and I slipped the arm hole things over the handles of the stroller and just clipped the waist so it didn’t dangle. Was even able to fold it up and stuff in bag for gate check at the airport, all without removing the puddle jumper.

  2. I have cruised several times with my kids who are currently 2&5. I reduce the tips (for my children) and give the difference to the youth staff, you know the ones that are actually providing my children more of a service. With that being said, I pick up our room, make the bed, put the bunk away, pack the crib away everyday, etc. With 4 of us in the cabin, it needs to be clean and tidy and I do 99% of it before the attendant arrives. Flame away. Ps. I also used to work on cruise ships and have worked in the service industry for 15 plus years and don't feel one bit sorry about it. Flame away...

I will reduce my tips to cash and reallocate them to the staff with whom my child interacts. I go by the breakdown that the cruise ships follows, only interchanging service providers. The cabin steward still receive theirs as do the dining venue where they eat. Its just given in the provided envelopes in cash instead. It’s the head waiter and like that I reallocate to the youth staff as they are primarily performing service in regard to my child. JMO.

  3. The alarms go off as you are heading to or at the beginning of muster. About a minute of blaring noise and then the overhead announcement from he captain. It is outside at the muster station listed on your sea pass. I don’t see why there would be a problem with ear protection, my son (6) just holds his fingers in his ears.

  4. I'm not 100% about the liberty but we took our son when he was that age on her sister the Indy transatlantic so I'll tell you about that experience. There was a baby splash pool he could go in it had plastic floating boats and thing. It was right next to the h2o zone but enclosed enough that he couldn't "wander" in but they can see it. It the only pool non potty trained kids can go in swim diapers. As far as the toy lending they were still doing it and it was good, just checked out a free bag of toys at the nursery and swapped them out when needed. They also had a room set up for free play times with Bigger toys on ours it was in the teen disco fuel. It wasn't open ALL the time but it was open a lot. There are a few times when they have adult-kid family organized stuff, scavenger hunts or bubble play etc. We used the nursery but at this age its charged by the hr. We mainly used it at night to have quiet dinner or specialty restaurant. Have a good cruise

  5. We have also had this concern with our little one. In some ports we have rented a taxi for the day and some of the companies will let you rent a seat or just provide one, I believe we've done both. This has worked out well for us, I would mention to make sure you are confident in your ability to check and secure a car seat as the driver may not know how. For the 4Y as another poster recommended there are inflatable boosters providing they are tall enough. We hope to use one of these on our next cruise.
