1. Yes Def Prepare, if I had someone tell me what I didn't know I would have rather lost all my money that's how bad it was...LOL

-Balcony was Obstructed.. No one told us, booked unobstructed.

-Room Attendant.. Like Casper the ghost Never saw him hardly.. Ice is a commodity LOL

    -Staff.. Rude

-1,000 Kids.. you heard that right LITERALLY WE WERE TOLD.. everywhere, in pools with diapers  strollers on disco floor at midnight.. Screaming up and down hallways..I have kids but believe me I would never had let them run everywhere or do what these parents did..

-Rooms tiny 2 people can't walk in same path to bathroom  and we are tiny LOL.

-Smells like smoke everywhere.. people smoking in rooms when not suppose to...

-Coffee Cups are never available BRING YOUR OWN!!!! COFFEE IS ALSO HARD TO FIND SOMETIMES!!!

-Buffet for any meal OMG like Grand Central Station at rush hour... Kids picking food with fingers... UGH I think I lost weight on this cruise ... Breakfast takes about an hour and half in Black Crab Dining room .and food Ice cold <--shakes head...Order cold items nothing hot...

-Martini's are half the size of normal Martini glasses and not filled high.

I can go on and on but just got home and will never put myself through anything like this again... Actually Hubby on phone booking next cruise on Princess right now! :) We feel like we need a vacation!!!! :)

-Formal night is a joke we saw jeans t shirts and shorts..

GOOD experience was the weather... OH and forget about getting a seat on sea days these people are up at 4 am and all the seats are taken... I sat next to 2 chairs that NEVER had any occupants only towels and a magazine... ALL DAY!!!!!!

We were on the August 13 sailing. I disagree with almost everything you said.

It was our 45th cruise, and our first on MSC

  2. Just returned from the Divina. We were status matched and received a Black Card. Included as a perk was a meal in a specialty restaurant.

We ate at Eataly. Set Tastings menu which included a paper bag of sliced bread brought to our table followed by a plate of gross Italian style cold cuts, followed by a salad with the same gross meat beneath the greens. A small bowl of alfredo style spaghetti was next and it was the best course of the meal. Then, five slices of beef followed. Very meh.. so meh.. we couldn't wait to get out of there and didn't stay for dessert.

Hubby said free or not, he would never go there again. Doesn't begin to compare with Cagney's on NCL.

Atmosphere in Eataly was horrible. Pergo type light flooring with plastic clear and red modern looking cheapy chairs.

Service was horrible, and we're talking lunch time with maybe 6 tables full. It took 2 hours, and the waiter kept apologizing. Saw 2 people send their food back.

Think twice before going if you have to pay for it.

  3. We put pictures of our dogs in a cruise ship magnetic frame on the door.

We also put a magnetic note pad and pen on the door. We have received a lot of interesting messages from fellow passengers over the years. :-)

  4. If you were upgraded to a Fantastica experience, you will receive the Fantastica benefits. All pax,,,except Yacht Club members,,will be assigned one of two main dining rooms regardless of experience level. Yacht Club consists of 3 forward decks, deck 15,16 and 18. To see where the Yacht Club areas begin and end,,you can have a look at the deck plan.https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/Assets/msc_divina_deckplan_3-16.pdf

According to MSC rep, this is not accurate as far as being upgraded to the Fantastica Experience

  5. We are on the Aug 13 Divina sailing. Purchases the TZ advertised 399 inside cabin, Bella experience, cabin to be assigned.

We were upgraded to an inside cabin on deck 11. Although it reads Fantastica Experience now, upon calling MSC, they said it is the room only, and does not include the extra amenities associated with the Fantastica experience.

  6. Good afternoon fellow cruisers! Avid cruisers here, but new to MSC.

We booked a cruise on the Divina. 399 inside room. No extras, Bella experience.

    Questions:

Room service with the Bella experience, available? If so, is the charge 3.50 plus tip?

Beverages in dining room for supper, U.S. booked, so is tap water, coffee and tea available free of charge, or no?

Neither of these are deal breakers for us, we just like to be prepared.

  7. We sent two bags of laundry (on separate days) on the March 8 sailing on the Epic. I don't recall if we had two vouchers but per the instructions we did not send the voucher with the laundry. We wrote platinum on it and totaled it out as 0.

Sent one bag with hubby's name and one with my name and we were not charged.

  8. We were just on the Epic last month. Loved her! I would be hard pressed to find a complaint. The ONLY bad thing I could say is if you were traveling with children the bathroom configuration may be uncomfortable if modesty is an issue. That's it, the one and only bad thing I would have to say.

  9. I'm not done with cruising but I am done with NCL. Will use the two cruise rewards we purchased, most likely for 2 cabins on the same sailing. I will not spend 1 cent onboard....and then I am done.

NCL does not deserve my loyalty. The sneaky, underhanded way they are conducting their business has soured me against them.

See ya NCL. 43 cruises, the majority with you, but this love affair is over. I will be two timing you with Disney Cruise Line. Disney seems to have more integrity.

  10.
I spoke to NCL and you don't have to bring a thing. The 18% is charged when you purchase the UDP. Those that purchased it prior to the change doesn't have to pay it and those that purchased the UDP after the change will be charged for it when they purchase the UDP. The restaurant has no idea if you paid the 18 percent or not or when you purchased it and would not be charging it to anyone with an UDP, only those that eat in the restaurants without the package.

The gratuity is not charged on comp meals. It would be charged on upcharge items, like the lobster.

NCL also said that the Specialty Restaurant servers are not included in the DSC, that now it is just the complimentary dining staff, housekeepers, etc.

.Now, you can believe this or not, your choice.
Thank you, finally some answers
  11. NCL could definitely decide to charge the gratuities for the UDP if they chose to (once onboard). To think that is not a possibility is not taking into consideration corporate greed.

You embark onto the ship with a 0 balance, but you are charged the DSC. Whose not to say even if you prepay or are "gifted" the UDP you will not be charged the 18% when you dine?

I don't find it outside the realm of possibilities. Call me dumb if you want.

And by the way, we just completed our 43rd cruise. So, to talk to me like I don't understand the concept is ridiculous. But if it makes you feel more important, do what you must.
  12. Why the need to be so confrontational? I just don't get it. Lighten up, go take a walk, plan your next cruise.

Geez, I've never seen such a bunch grumpy people in my life. Life is too short for a bunch of nonsense. If I were to run into you on a ship would you be as grumpy or is that just your online persona?

All of the people that I have met from this board on ships have been wonderful people. I just don't get it.
