  1. Any advice regarding cabin choice would be greatWe are looking at either HE grade balcony ( forward) or HD grade ( aft) on Oceana. Probably deck C or B-want cabins above and below and not public spaces.

Which do people prefer forward or aft/ port or starboard?

Are there any balconys/ cabins that are bigger-we have benefitted from the large balcony on C deck on Azura-is there anything similar on Oceana?

    Thank you for any advice/thoughts.

  2. For the first time we have opted for select dining and I believe that reservations can be made 4 days before sailing. Is it best to do this or can we be flexible and just turn up when we are ready - if we do this are we more likely to have to wait? We will be wanting a table for 4.

Also, if we decide to reserve - what time are the evening shows so that we can plan round this?

Thank you for any advice and thoughts on how others have worked with this.

  3. I know their has been some discussion about this previously but just wondering what the current position is-are P and O sticking adhering to the embarkation times given on e tickets or are passengers still arriving earlier?

    Thank you

  4. Thanks everybody for your speedy response!

Unfortunately, I made a mistake and it is actually a 2A cabin - still a balcony but lower in the ship and from "upward UK's" comments a smaller balcony.

is this still reasonable or does that change things?

Apologies for the mistake the only excuse I can give is that I posted in the middle of the night as I couldn't sleep mulling things over in mind!

    Thank you again!

  5. We are considering the 9 night sailing on 6th August 2016 on Equinox.

It is a number of years since we have sailed with Celebrity and would usually have booked when cruises first went on sail so it is a little unusual for us to be booking at this "relatively" late date.

Under the "buy one get one half price" promotion we have been quoted £3000/cabin for an A1 grade balcony which includes the flights to Rome and returning from Barcelona ( form London Heathrow) and the classic drinks package.

I am always a bit wary of the "special promotions" as sometimes there really isn't much difference from the usual pricing but just wondering if any seasoned celebrity cruisers from UK could advise as to whether this sounds reasonable.

Would welcome any comments or advice

    Thank you

  6. No compensation it was just as much your responsibility to make sure that you asked for "no upgrade" on both cabins seems strange that you say its P&Os fault but obviously the person asked if you wanted "no upgrade" on one cabin but not the other you should have made sure it applied to both cabins when you booked.

Made it absolutely clear it was for both cabins- I recollect the discussion going along the lines off " obviously you don't want an upgrade"! Why would I ask for us to be together then ask for one cabin to be no upgrade and not the other? We have cruised many times so very aware of the risks of not ticking the ' no upgrade' box . Even the lady at P and O accepted it was obviously just an oversight on the part of the person booking it. I accept it is just an error but I do know it is their error not mine!

I don't believe there is any way to check this after the booking is complete so I'm not quite sure what else I could have done majortom.

  7. We are due to sail Azura on 22nd August - booked last September while on board a previous cruise. We chose 2 C deck balconies next door to each other ( 2 adults 2 teenagers). Requested "no upgrade" as being next door and the large balcony and cabin position was important to us. We even checked that the balcony partitions could be opened top create a bigger space for us.

Went to print our e-tickets and luggage labels tonight to find one cabin has been changed and is now about 12 cabins more midship next to the laundry. Called P and O and they tell me one of the cabins did not have "no upgrade" ticked and we have been upgraded.

Although, the person I spoke to was very understanding as it was "outside office hours" they weren't able to help as the original cabin has been allocated. I have to call back tomorrow. She agree that it appeared to be an oversight on the part of the person making the booking.

Hopefully, they will be able to resolve the problem and find us 2 cabins together on C deck but as the ship appears to be full I just want to be prepared in case they say there is nothing they can do. If this is the case what do you think they are likely to do?

What compensation do you think would be reasonable for loss of the chosen cabin and the cabins being in different locations? WE already have substantial OBC so we really don't want any more.

Thank you for any advice on how to deal with this. Hopefully it won't be needed and everything will be resolved!

  8. We have 2 cabins booked for our family each with OBC. We will just be registering one credit card but suspect we won't use much more than the total of the OBC. Do we need to be careful when we purchase things to charge them to both cabins or will they automatically combine the credit and use the second cabins if the first has all been used or vice versa?

    Thank you
