  1. This will be my first time sailing as a Gold Member.  I'll be sailing with my mom and SIL for their first cruise on NCL and we are all in the same cabin. Does my priority status apply to the entire stateroom for priority tender tickets and disembarkation or will it just be for me? Also, is there anything I need to do to get priority tender tickets and luggage tags, or will they be delivered to my stateroom? Thank you so much!

  2. Going on a girl's cruse with my mom and SIL in March and checked in this morning. I was able to snag myself and SIL a time of 9:30 to 10, but my mom's picture was rejected because she has her glasses on. By the time I got a new picture from her the earliest check in time available was 10:30 to 11. We're all in the same cabin going out of Port Canaveral. Will we be all be able to arrive between 9:30 and 10?

  3. "Worst vacation ever" LOLOLOL Your vacation sounds amazing compared to mine. I do hear you that you're frustrated, but you were safe on a ship being entertained. I would have gladly exchange places with you at that time.  Here's the worst vacation I was on at that exact same time and honestly mine could have been way worse.

We started our drive to  Friday morning and all was going well when my car shuddered and died on interstate 24 just north of Clarksville. Unfortunately we were in a construction zone that was down to one lane when it happened, but I was able to maneuver us into the ditch. We called 911 because we were not in a safe location (it was very narrow and semis were barely able to pass us) and a tow truck. The towing company fortunately brought an additional off duty driver so that all 4 of us would have a ride to a safe location, but the extra driver was only able to take us as far as the next exit.

The kiddos and I waited for a Lyft to take us to Hertz while Matt rode with the towing company to drop off our car. Once at Hertz I was told that they didn't have a car big enough for us but, while she was showing me a smaller car to see if everything would fit someone returned the right size vehicle! Unfortunately, that's where our luck ran out. After picking my husband up at the dealership he noticed that the tires on the vehicle we rented were in very poor shape and there was a gouge in the sidewall of one of the tires. They put in a work order to have the tires replaced at Discount Tires down the street. After waiting for 3 hours to get an approval for the tires Hertz declined replacement and left us stranded.

The manager at the Hertz in Clarksville wasn't giving up on getting us home safely and went above and beyond for us. We headed to a hotel and he started the roadside assistance process to tow our rented vehicle to Nashville and have a replacement vehicle delivered to us from Nashville. Unfortunately they wouldn't deliver the vehicle, but I was able to ride with the driver to the Nashville Airport to get a replacement. Once arriving at the airport I waited in line for an hour for them to tell me that they wouldn't do the exchange without me filling out an incident report admitting to being at fault for the damages. There was absolutely no way I was doing that, so I called the manager back at the Clarksville location. There was a notation on our rental agreement stating what had happened and I had a case number that they were supposed to look at, but they refused to help me. The manager at Clarksville then called the General Manager of Nashville at home on a Saturday. Three minutes later the process to exchange our vehicle began. Ten minutes later I was back on the road to pick up my family at the hotel in Clarksville and we were on our way home.

We all arrived safely at home   We have no idea how long it will be before our car is diagnosed and fixed. It could be months according the the dealership. They're down to 2 engine techs and have 4 other cars sitting there with the same problem. I'm hopeful that it'll be covered under our warranty, but who knows. The most important thing is were all safe and we have a second vehicle for transportation.

  4. Does anyone know how early taxis start from King's Wharf?  We'll be there in the end of November and are wanting to go to Warwick Bay for sunrise (8 AM.) I was thinking we would leave the ship around 7 AM which should get us there in plenty of time to watch the sunrise. We would walk the beach to Horseshoe Bay then take a taxi to Hamilton. Will it be easy to grab a taxi around 9:30 or 10 at Horseshoe Bay in late November?

We booked (last minute - within  2 months of sailing) two (2) SP cabins on the Joy, got a good deal/price & caught the rare double points promo on top of it all, got 28 points in total for our 7 nights to Bermuda.  "SP" is (still, AFAIK) considered a "full" suite (definitely non-Haven) despite being stripped of nearly all perks - and like the "SC" non-Haven suite ... is entitled to AND get an extra point per night paying suite pricing.  However, if you successfully bid "upgrade" Advantage into them, no and you then do NOT get the extra points awarded.

Date Name/Description Reservation# Ship Stateroom Type Points
    May 8, 2022 7-Day 7-Day Bermuda Round-Trip From New York 4876XXXX Norwegian Joy Suite 28

Thank you so much for confirming! 28 points is amazing!!!!!

Again, yes.   We have a non-Haven Suite booked on an upcoming Joy cruise and will be receiving two points a night (plus two bonus points a night due to the promotion when we booked).

But definitely a "no" for the club balcony suites.   I believe the OP is in a non-Haven Family Suite which would be a "yes".

Yes, non-Haven Family Suite (SP.) Thank you confirming!

I think this bears further discussion - my answer would be NO.

*Full-fare Suites booked when reservation was originally made. Does not include Club Balcony Suites

Reason only Full-Fare Suites whether in the Haven or other location.

The clue is the FULL benefits of the Butler and Concierge

Club Balcony Suites - used to be call Mini-Suites and the suite term is confusing.

I think what they mean by full fare is that we paid for the Family Suite and did NOT win a bid upgrade. This isn't a Club Balcony , but an inside 2 bedroom suite that is unique to Joy.

She said all sailings through July were supposed to sail at 70%.  It's always a little dicey when someone tries to predict the amount of guests, at least until you board and can direct that question to upper level crew or Customer Service representatives.

My last NCL cruise was Fall of last year.  That sailing (to Alaska) only sailed at 40% capacity.  I'm sure it's more than that now.

Sailed Royal Ovation of the Seas this past Spring.  That sailing was at capacity.

Thank you so much for asking! I really appreciate it!  My last cruise was in October on Mariner and we were around 25%. You might say we were a bit spoiled that cruise.

I am sailing the Getaway in a couple of weeks.  I have been in contact with the pre-cruise concierge, who told me they expect the July 9 sailing to sail at 70% capacity.  She also said they expect to ramp up to 100% capacity by the end of Summer/beginning of Fall.

Any chance you could ask about the June 27 to July 2 date?

  10. I'm considering canceling our March cruise. Final payment is on January 7, so I have 10ish days to decide. Not afraid of getting sick, but don't want such a huge chuck of my vacation dollars tied up. With ships being denied docking in many countries, entertainment being canceled on-board I just don't think cruising will be back to the new normal by March. We did a Royal cruise in November and were very happy with how it went,  but things have changed again.

As others have stated, the menus have changed. I have the new menus and pictures of each dish served, I just need to find the time to create the new thread. Hopefully in the coming days I’ll be able to at least get it started. ☺️

Just checking to see if you were able to do an updated Haven menu with pics thread?

No.  Haven priorities don't begin until after going through security.  Then you are escorted to a Haven check in lounge and escorted onto the ship when it is ready.  However, for us we had a 10 am check in time. The line for Covid testing was very short, no delay, tested quickly, results in about 20 minutes.  Then into a line for the shuttle back to the boarding berth.  Haven priority begins there.  The only problem we had was our hotel shuttle dropped us off at the boarding berth.  We had to walk with luggage down to the testing berth, about 5 to 10 minutes.  If you get transportation, be sure they drop you at the correct berth, I believe 93.  Boarding I believe was berth 91 or maybe 92.  Maybe someone can verify or correct that.

Thank you so much for your reply it is so helpful! Now I can let my family know what is in store for them.
