  1. We are a family of 4 considering a sailing on the breakaway in March. I realize it will be cold in NYC then and I was curious how accessible the activities will be with a March sailing for those of you that have had a similar itinerary. We have been to all the ports and are basically sailing to experience the ship. I wasn't sure if anyone could speak to how the weather is that time of year and how the on-board activities might be limited. I don't want to book for the waterslides and rope course and then have it be too cold to use for a few days of the cruise.

  2. This is slightly off topic, but if you have any questions about the Le Cirque dinner, please ask. We've done it before. We've also dined at Le Cirque and Le Cirque 2000. (Even the old Le Cirque in the New York Palace.)

    Based on our previous experience, the HAL version is a really nice take on the original. It's also well priced. The $49 supplement on HAL barely covers cocktails, cab, and coat check in Manhattan.

    Thanks so much for all the infomation you are providing! Not only is it really useful, but also hilarious!!

    I would like to heard about the Le Circque dinner. I don't really know what it is. It doesnt include wine pairings, does it?

  3. Thanks for the advice! I have checked our roll call and there aren't too many active posters. There is one group traveling with their 13 year old boy. Hmmm... maybe I should be careful what I am wishing for here. ;)

  4. Hello - just looking to see if people had any experience sailing with kids on HAL or about how many we might expect to see on a late June 12-night Baltic cruise. Our daughters will be 13 and 10 and after many Caribbean cruises, we branched out to the Mediterranean last year and we all loved it. While on board, the girls like dressing up and going to the dinners and shows. My younger one does appreciate having other kids on board and making new friends. We were on an Alaskan sailing that had 9 kids and a 2 week Celebrity sailing that had 13 kids. We are past our Disney days of having 1,000 kids on a sailing but it would be nice if there were a few their ages. Any experiences to share?

  5. Just off a 7 day cruise with my husband and two younger daughters (9 & 12). For the most part, we had a really nice time but there were a couple things that surprised me that we experienced on board. I realize it was a small part of the experience, but just curious what you would have thought.

    First was in regards to the photo sessions. There was a couple we walked past at about 8:00PM that were hard to miss. They were posing in various sexual positions and the photographer was snapping away while their group of friends were cheering them on. My kids were like - why is he doing that to her? Yeah....

    Second was during the main dining room. On the last night of the cruise there was a toddler running around in just a diaper (no other clothes or shoes). I realize that not everyone likes to dress up for dinner, but come on.

    We also ate at the steak house. The food and service were great, but two tables over had a one year old doing laps around the parents table. She was pulling things off of the surrounding tables while the parents ignored them.

    Also - are non-potty trained kids supposed to be in the pools? I know on Disney they had a dedicated toddler pool that was drained and refilled nightly for obvious reasons. Keep in mind I have kids and they have been on every sailing with us since we had them. I just make sure they followed the rules of the ship with dress code, etc.

    Maybe I should mind my own business, but am I crazy to think that's over the top a bit, or are people "just on vacation and anything goes?"

  6. Just got back from 5 day on Millennium

    Got the Premium Package and it was soooo worth it!

    Sample day:

    2 Cappacinos at breakfast @ 5.18 w/ grat =$10.35; (don't forget the almond and chocolate croissants - to die for ;))

    Specialty Coffee$8.65;

    Bloody Mary or Vodka/Grapefruit$8.65;

    2 Frozen Margarita at pool$19.00;

    Red Stripe with lunch $7.00;

    :pNap:p

    2Martinis before dinner$23.00;Wine at dinner$11.50;

    San Peligrino w/dinner$4.50;

    2-3 Vodka/Sodas strolling at night$29.00;

    Brandy or similiar before bed$11.50

    3Evian throughout the day$15.5

    Total $148.65 per day X 4.5 days (to adjust for my lighter days) $669

    5 Day Premium Pkg $310

    In my pricing I used all top shelf liquor since I was comparing to the premium package.

    Would I have drank like that if it wasn't all inclusive...Heck No

    But since it was it certainly made for a GREAT VACATION!!!!!

    Go for it;)

    Looks like you definitely made it worth it! I am wrestling with it just since we are on a 14 night and I don't think the 2 of us can drink $1738+ worth of oj, coffee and alcohol!! Sounds nice to not have to worry about anything though.

  7. You are now my official source for all dining and entertainment on board. I have heard conflicting things about the "lobster night". Is it Monday or Tuesday on the Eastern sailing. I know it isn't world class or anything, but my daughter loves it and we don't want to bring her to Cagney's to get it (we will leave that restaurant for a night when it is just my husband and myself).

    Thanks!
