  1. We just got off Summit 2 weeks ago and had the package. This was my first in  a Concierge cabin (7th Celebrity cruise) so not sure if this changes things.
First day talked to our attendant and mentioned that I liked Diet Coke. The rest of the cruise only Diet Coke in the fridge. If there was still 2 in there, he’d put extras on the counter. I’m also a vodka drinker and joked on the 4th night with him I needed more “shorties”. For the last 2 days he had 8 Tito’s in the fridge. Trust me, he got compensated at the end of the cruise.
In summary, everything I’ve read is YMMV. It’s a new program and the attendants really aren’t sure how to handle it.
Besides the fridge, didn’t go to the wine tasting since it was while we were in Bonaire. We actually brought all the bottled wine home with us. And absolutely used the casino chips.

  2. FYI. I originally booked with the Classic Beverage Package as a perk and later upgraded to Premium. I called Celebrity today to upgrade to Drinks and More. They said I couldn't as I have already upgraded once. If I had originally had the Premium as a perk, I could upgrade to Drinks and More. What she was able to do was remove my Premium Package upgrade and then upgrade from Classic to Drinks and More.  It actually saved me $18 for the both of us! Woohoo, where am I going to spend all that extra money. 😉

  3. Just got off Silhouette today. We found everything to be great. We had the best waiter, asst waiter, Khersing and Artem. Each night they would bring us extra entrees without asking. They even brought us each an extra lobster tail on Friday after we already ordered the Beef Wellington and a lobster tail (there were 4 of us). Last night, he brought us an order of the Gnocchi to share and after we finished our entrees (all Steak Diane), asked if we wanted another (we all declined except for my son, he opted for the Tilapia). Yes, there were green beans just about every night, but, hey, I like them. I know it depends on who you get but the waiters and food were fantastic. We also ate at Qsine and Murano and had good service/food.

Our stateroom attendant, Meggon, was great too. We did not notice any problems with the towels or replenishing the the shampoo/conditioner. We had 2 requests from him during the week and he responded right away.

Denis and Andrej at the World Class Bar made great drinks and made a couple of adjustments for us to try new things.

The biggest complaint was the service at the Sunset Bar and the Lawn Club Grill. The SB was overcrowded and at some times, only had one bartender. Our LCG dinner took over 2 1/2 hours, the poor waiter was so overworked. The food was really good but a real disappointment with the service.

Overall we had a great time and booked a Summit Southern Caribbean on board. My first Celebrity cruise was on the Meridian many moons ago, and while I have seen cuts over the years, I still find the value (for me) is there.

  4. I was just in 7286 2 weeks ago and loved it! Largest of the angled balconies and bed by the balcony, which is what I prefer. Seems to have more room not having to walk around the bed. I also prefer the starboard side as the port side has smoking areas 2 decks below.

  5. I have been on Reflection twice in cabins that were the same as 9270 and 9292 on Silhouette. I do not feel the wind was a problem in either. These 2 are the largest (deepest) of the angled balconies, but 9268 will still be larger than a standard veranda that is not on the angle. I love the deeper balconies. The view straight down to the water was a bit obstructed, so yours should be similar. This never bothered me though, as most of the time was spent sitting in the loungers. Between the two that I have stayed in, my preference is the aft angled, but only because the bed is near the balcony in that cabin versus by the bath in 9270. I think you have made a great choice and should have no problems with 9268.

  6. Thank you for a believable post, RosieCanberra! Quite refreshing from the malarkey posted in most of the replies on this thread by the formal wear proponents. Very far-fetched that formal wear is higher now than before Celebrity eliminated formal nights! Celebrity knows how people are actually dressing. They aren't going to reinstate formal nights / formal wear based on repetitive baloney on here.

On our last cruise, less than 1% in tux on elegant chic nights. Capacity = 2,850. If half male = 1,425 males. Doubtful there were 14 tuxedos on board (1%).

Thank you for your eloquent response. I assume you were responding to my post. While I enjoy wearing formal wear, I am by far a "proponent". There have been many "dress code" threads on this board for quite some time and I have never responded to any. I wear what I want. The OP asked about what the current trend seems to be. I stated only my observations, that there were many tuxes that I saw (did not go into the statistical data, but there was definitely way more than 14 tuxes). Formal wear did not seem to be more or less than any cruise I have been on since 2008, albeit only 4 Celebrity cruises. I have no agenda either way, but looking at your signature, I think you have one. Wear what you want, enjoy your vacation, and no, I did not feel conspicuous.

  7. I just got off Reflection today, Western Caribbean. I wore a tux both nights and surprisingly, I saw quite a few. There were a lot of suit/tie combos, however, not necessarily dark. And honestly, it seemed people dressed nicer on the other nights than I remember in the past.

In Murano the first night (it was Valentine's dinner), I would say a third were in tuxes and the rest in suit/tie. On Thursday, we ate at Lawn Club Grill, only 6 tables occupied, I was in a tux, a table of 2 couples, both men in tuxes, the rest in jacket/no tie. It was REALLY windy that night so very few people eating there.

  8. I am just off Reflection also. We loved the World Class Bar and thought Nikka, Iva and the 3rd bartender (forget his name already) were fantastic. The smoked rum and old fashion were delicious. The only drink they couldn't make (as far as I know) was the Kettle One chilled, didn't have dry ice. The bar was pretty crowded after 8 each night. The one bartender shared a new drink menu coming in the future with additional drinks developed by several winners of the World Class competition.

  9. On the Reflection now. World Class opened at 5 the day we boarded for the first time. Love Love Love it. Haven't had a drink off the menu yet. Niksa our bartender has been fabulous coming up with different drinks I would like. Doesn't hurt that his favorite cocktail is a Negroni the same as mine so he understands what I like. Different drinks that have all been perfect. DH happy with drinks he has had from menu and off menu but we are classic cocktail kind of people. Not much into martinis except classic gin martini anyway.

I'll be on Reflection this Saturday. This is great news! I loved Molecular Bar (first time I ever ate a Scorpion was there) but really am interested in trying these new drinks.

  10. We like Princess, but as far as the shipboard experience is concerned, Celebrity is just a bit better in the most important categories. These are only our opinions, your mileage may vary:

If you are going to Alaska - Princess by a mile.

If you don't mind me asking, why Princess for Alaska? We will be on Reflection in February and were thinking of booking a future cruise to Alaska while on board. I have really only been on Celebrity but am open to other lines, have always wanted to try Princess.

  11. SHIP: Reflection

    CABIN #: 7264

    DECK #: 7

    CLASS: A1

AREA: Mid, last angled cabin of hump

    BED NEAR: Bath

    QUIET?: Yes.

BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed, great view forward

BALCONY SIZE: Largest of the angled balconies (I think), lots of room.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No under normal conditions. The first two days were VERY windy so anywhere on the ship had a wind problem.

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Loved this cabin. It has a large balcony, is right outside the elevators, and if you're a coffee drinker, The Hideaway is outside your door. I will say that the cabin attendants' closet is right outside and you could hear them opening and closing the door frequently but not until after about 9:00 AM.

  12. This question has been asked so thought I would chime in. Me and my 17yo son are booked on the Reflection leaving Miami on March 30th so my final payment is due next week. The current published price for a 1A Veranda is the same as when I booked and I had no other incentives. I just called Celebrity and it was no hassle to add the promotion. I had wanted to add the Beverage package but since both of us cannot because my son is under-age, I could not add the package either (both passengers have to add the same promotion). Therefore, I added the $200 OBC. I immediately received an email with the promotion listed (WAV3-WAVE OBC) but a 0 value. The rep said the $200 amount will be posted on my account in 7-10 days. I will be keeping an eye out for any changes to this as the Rep said she has already received emails regarding the promotion rules.
