The drive in Skagway is awesome. We are scheduled to do it for the 4th time this year.
There are now 5 car rental options as well. Ranging from $100-$400 a day.

Actually on the Mardi Gras it works out better to have AnyTime Dining because this way you can eat early and for free in ChiBang, Cucina del Capitano and Pig and Anchor.
If you have a set Dining time, you can only book these after 7.45 pm.
This is the best answer for the Excel class ships. why limit yourself to main dining room before 7:45pm. We have 7 sailings on the excel ships and have never had dinner in main dining room. So many other options.

The overhaul of the loyalty program is WAY overdo. The program is unsustainable. When I read about the Disney program, I thought it was too weak to make any difference. I have personally heard about changes from mgt going back to when the Splendor came out and they hired Hana away from Starwood loyalty (I think it was).
The fact of the matter is that when half the ship qualifies for the “program” it needs to be scoped down, significantly. I doubt very much very there change will only be the Disney or MSC versions. Look for somethingwhre they raise the bar for the top two levels and add a third level (just mho).
As a knowledgable cruiser, where do you think the levels would be best set at?
I would think to decrease the numbers in top tiers you would have to go to at least:
500 days new level
300 days Diamond
125 days Platinum
I think the Diamond and Platinum benefits are too similar and Carnival does a poor job separating them when making them unavailable on certain cruises personally.

Craps in minimum $10 on all ships now, exception being Celebration/Mardi Gras are $15.
ATS bet is still minimum $1.
BlackJack is also $10 minimum.

We have been on Celebration/Mardi Gras 7 times and never had dinner in MDR. Too many other options.
As for the Steakhouse/Rudi's, we will go when casino pays but do not see $50 of value in the meals. At $30/35 it was a great option, but at $50 we will eat elsewhere. Emerils offers a Beef Tenderloin with Chimichurri that we find to be the best steak offered on Celebration.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will keep looking. There isn’t even ONE class in ANY of the different items they offer in the classes. Only 6 restaurant reissues are listed. 2 Bonsai Teppy (L+D), the kids Breakfast in the MDR, the Steakhouse & forgot the 2 others. Maybe something will pop up …🛳️ Bobbi
We are booked for New Years an haven't seen any listed for the past 6 months. We have done 3 classes on the Celebration previously and booked all onboard. We go there within the 1st hour after boarding and they have some slots pen usually.

I had multiple hand pays on the Luminosa last week. The first one I did not have my ID on me so they gave me the slip to take to the cage one I had my ID on me. The next ones they offered to go get the cash for me or I could take the slip to the cage when I was ready.

San Juan homeport offered the best itineraries. I would love to have them back!

Biggest table wins have been $15,000 on Lucky Ladies black Jack, $7900 on Let It Ride, $5,300 on Heads Up. A few slot wins in the $3,500 range overs the years as well.

What ships have Steakhouse brunch?
We were on the Spirit last year in Alaska and the day of the glacier they advertised brunch in the Steakhouse for $25. It was the best meal we have had on 42 Carnival Sailings.

Visiting Cabana Beach for our 3rd time this upcoming weekend. The limited amount of guests is great. We find the food and drinks to be a nice step up from the all inclusive popular beach options. We will still visit Sanchos and the like in the future, but for now Cabana Beach is our go to.

We have our 5th and 6th Elite booked this spring/summer, can't beat them. All the games like a premier, plus a free excursion or spa credit, free car service to/from the ship, cheers package, free room service, and a couple parties.

We book flights usually between 1115-1230 out of MIA and 1130-1 out of FLL. We did make our 10am a couple of weeks ago, but don't enjoy having to rush off ship.

A few weeks ago Plat/Diamond started self assist debark at 735am.

Just off an Elite. You will get an email about 3 weeks before the cruise outlining the excursion being offered.

Martinique is the only port we have been to that most places would NOT except US dollars.

The Executive hosts told us on the Vista Ultra that moving to Fun Play Chips and Slot Free Play will be the new normal as the ships upgrade their slot machines.
For table players, you get the Fun play chips in $5 or $25 denominations. You can not break these denominations down at the table so be sure to ask for $5 chips unless you plan to play $25 or more per bet. In my case they gave me 2 full trays of $5 Fun Play Chips since many offer was for $1,000 casino cash.
For slot players, the free play is loaded onto your SS card as free play and you transfer it onto the slot machines in the denomination of your choice.
-
They are slowly changing it over to free play chips or free slot play from cash. Right now it depends on if the ships slot machines have been upgraded to work with the free play or not. I know from experience the Vista is now free play and not cash and have heard that the Conquest has recently switched as well.

Included shuttles run every 30 minutes back to the ship. You can taxi back at $4/person anytime.

29 days for us!

This could be why there were no sailings available when I tried to use my last BB.
I will hold judgement until I see what they replace them with.
We will see, hopefully the info is out before our January cruise.

Did you also have only once a day room steward service? Thanks. I am hearing mostly people had once a day service, but that you can actually have it twice, so just wondering if this is just a ship thing. Sorry things were not so great on your cruise. Hope you had fun anyway.
Yes, our steward presented the card and said pick which service we wanted. We selected both the morning and evening boxes as there was not a "both" box. We also checked the box for extra towels. This turned out to be a joke for us all week, as he would never leave more than 2 clean towels in the room at one time. He also would never change the glasses, dirty or not, and the second half of the week we only had 1. We didn't feel like waiting around for him to bring towels or glasses so lived with the issues all week.

We were on this sailing as well. We had a balcony on deck 9. Worst room steward in our 14 cruises. Our room was also very dusty, and our toilet smelled like an outhouse all week when lid was open. Missing Costa Maya was a let down as well.
