  1. It was just a question :)

I've used SAS before and was happy, however, I'm taking my parents and my dad is handicapped - such transportation vans (or the ones I have been on) have been packed and making many stops at multiple places - thought a hotel van (that only goes from point A-B) would be easier.

  2. Wow! I am so excited! This was the best Monday ever! Ha ha!

I sailed solo on the Epic in March and fell in love! 😍

I have a solo back to back on the Getaway in Dec 2016 but that TA crossing? I may have to change to that! I'll have to wait until Aug 24 I guess.

    I can't wait!

  3. I have read the NCL website - it says Cash accounts can be set up for $300 pp for a 7 day cruise - I am taking my parents and the three of us are staying in a room - I prefer to do cash - so would they only accept $900 min? We are going with the UBP and UDP and I doubt we will spend much money on anything else so it surely seems a waste to have them hold $900 of mine... Just wondering if they would accept less?

    Thanks!

  4. I was on the March 15th sailing and I LOVED IT! I was solo but made SOOOOO many friends and took a peek in many cabins and never heard of any bed bug or mold issues. I also have allergies and I was just fine for that week. No mold issues.

I've sailed CCL and RCCL previously and the March sailing was my first NCL cruise. I enjoyed NCL more, just my opinion. I am single and 32 yo female. I've booked their new ship, Escape for next March. NCL is my line of choice now. Be active in your roll call and GO to the Meet and Mingle on the ship with the officers if you can!

You will have a fantastic time! And if you drink, invest in the UBP - I didn't because I thought it was too much (as a solo - it was just a little under the entire cost of my cruise fare) but I have already got it for next time!

  5. I'm flying in so I didn't want to pack several bottles of white zin and then pay $15 each - I looked it up and they only charge $24 which is fair. About the same if I bought them here and then paid their $15 fee.

I don't think I'll do the UBP - it would be close to $500 and I'm a young single female traveler and I would never get my money's worth for several reasons. I don't want to get s***faced alone and I can't justify spending more on booze than my cruise fare.

Thank you for all your answers :)

  6. I just booked my second solo cruise, it has three stops and I only plan to get off at one of them.

I never sailed NCL before, and The Epic is so large I think I probably will not explore the entire ship in just the week I have. I am not even worried about being alone in a foreign country since I expect to be busy just learning the ship and it's features.

Remember, if you are feeling nervous about some location, there is no law saying you must get off the ship (at-least before the end of the cruise), enjoy the ship, maybe your next trip you will feel more adventurous.

Sounds like we booked the same cruise, what date are you sailing!?

  7. I'm off work from March 13-22. Any good solo deals - looking to do for more than 5 days from Florida. Inside cabin is good for me, I must be missing something as far as deals go - is NCL the only one that doesn't charge 200% of the fare if there is one passenger. Found a nice cruise on NCL leaving March 15th but got really rude customer service when I called in for them to answer questions last night... And they just "followed up" with a call a moment ago and I am at work and I told the guy on the phone that I would call back if I needed anything, that I was at work and I was unavailable to speak, he also got very rude and was trying to set up a time for him to call later, I kept telling him that I could not speak currently that I work in a hospital and he continued to be persistant and finally hung up on my face. This does NOT leave a good impression. Might never book with them... I've been on RCCL and Carnival and the customer service was superb!

    Thank you all!
